Okay, so here's how I made the salad. My mom wouldn't let me put any crumbled candy canes in the big one cause she said that was digusting but I tried it on my own little bowl....xD Sorry you can't see the tomatoes, they all got tossed to the bottom. Chicken Parmesan Christmas Trees
Ingredients:-six boneless chicken breasts
-1 cup all purpose flour
-1 1/2 tsp salt
-1/4 tsp ground black peppers
-3 eggs
-1 1/2 cups dry bread crumbs
-Parmesan cheese
-unsalted butter
-olive oil
-basil/lettuce
-meat mallot
Steps:1) Preheat oven to 200. Pound the chicken breasts until they're between 1/4-1/2 inch thick.
2) Combine flour, salt, and pepper on a plate.
3) In a small bowl mix the three eggs with 1 1/2 tablespoons of water.
4) In another dish, combine bread crumbs and 1 cup of Parmesan cheese.
5) Next, take each piece of chicken and coat both sides with the flour mixture first, then the eggs, and finally the bread crumbs. Place on a piece of tin foil when finished.
6) Place 1 tbs of butter and 1 tbs of olive oil in a pan and cook each side of the chicken for 2-3 minutes on medium low-medium high heat.
7) Once all the chicken has been cooked, place on a cookie sheet and put in oven for 15 minutes to further brown the bread crumbs.
8) While the chicken is in the oven, cut up a head of lettuce (or basil).
9) Once the chicken has been removed from the oven, allow to cool slightly for five minutes.
10) Cut the chicken to look like Christmas trees by putting ridges that widen out as you approach the bottom of the chicken. To make it look more like a Christmas tree, you can even cut out an area to look like a trunk.
Note: Save the pieces of chicken you cut, these can be placed on the side of the plate as "firewood".
11) Next put the lettuce or basil on top of each piece of chicken to represent the needles on a Christmas tree.
12) Finally, sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese over the greens to make it look like the Christmas trees have snow on them.
13) Place the Christmas trees and firewood on plates and serve!
Here's my beautiful Christmas tree chicken! I know it doesn't look exactly like a tree and I considered getting my cookie cutters out to make it look very realistic but then I decided not to...so it looks a little strange but it sure did taste yummy![You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Dessert
