iNSTRUCTIONS GIVEN FOR EACH HOUSE

POSTS WILL BE OPENED FOR THE DANCES - PLEASE DO NOT OPEN POSTS YOURSELF!

ALL NAMES FOR CATEGORIES TO BE SENT TO ME (DATE TO BE CONFIRMED)

Lord of the Dance

The Lord of the Dance will be coming to the Hogwarts Experience within the next couple of weeks. Now is your chance to be a part of it!

Join together with your house mates and form a dance group to compete in some or all of the following categories;

1. Group Dance: This has to be comprised of between 6 and 10 members. You can have as many groups enter, though they have to meet this requirement (group awareness, participation and knowledge will be a high in winning this category)

2. Pairs: As many pairs can enter this part of the competition, but there can only be two per dance!

3. Festival Dance: This dance has to be based around any festival of your choosing. You may have any number of dancers and one speaker (this can also be a person who dances). The speaker will be required to give a short presentation upon this festival and how you have related the dance to it. Any number of 4-groups can enter per house as long as the requirements are met!

4. Mime: This can be done either as a single person movement or in pairs. Show your creativity in a short mime-dance. Any number of people can compete in this dance, though you have to meet the requirements

5. Performance Dance: Mix some acting with dance in this competition. This dance has to comprise of at least two people or more and as many groups can participate per house

6. Workshop Dance: Bring your teaching skills to the Hogwarts Experience. Create a dance and send out invites to at least 8 members (2 per house) setting a time. Teach these 8+ people this dance. You will be marked on how well you teach your actual dance and also bringing the required amount of people into the ‘class’.

7. Inter-House Dance: Join with 1-3 other members from other houses and work out your dance. Your dance needs to be based on the Hogwarts Experience and can be any genre.

8. Optional: You may also add another type of dance category, letting Elfie Dumbledore know before hand, to gain those extra points. This can cover anything.

9. Combined discussions and promotions: At the end of the competitions, you will be allowed to bring everything together in a discussion which will earn you housepoints! Any number of people can join and you will be marked upon a house effort

*Use your creativeness to the full in order to bring these dance categories to life!
*Work closely with your house members to try to cover as many categories as possible in the hope of that gold medal and housepoints!
* Follow the guidelines closely and ask any questions in the designated post in the great hall (pm’s to me before post is opened)
* The date of the competitions will be up shortly in the notice board.
* Please submit the names of the members participating in each category by specified date (will be in notice board with other dates)

Housepoints: (subject to change – you know me lol)

1. Group Dance:

1st place: Each member in the winning group will be awarded 200 housepoints
2nd place: Each member in this group will be awarded 140 housepoints
3rd place: Each member in the group will be awarded 80 housepoints

2. Pairs:

1st place: Both members will be awarded 180 housepoints
2nd place: both members will be awarded 120 housepoints
3rd place: both members will be awarded 80 housepoints

3. Festival Dance:

1st place: the winning group will be awarded 250 housepoints
2nd place: the group will be awarded 200 housepoints
3rd place: the group will be awarded 150 housepoints

Best presentation speaker:

1st place: 150 housepoints
2nd place: 100 housepoints
3rd place: 50 housepoints

4. Mime:

1st place: 200 housepoints
2nd place: 160 housepoints
3rd place: 110 housepoints

5. Performance Dance:

1st place: Each group will be awarded 300 housepoints
2nd place: Each group will be awarded 250 housepoints
3rd place: Each group will be awarded 200 housepoints

6. Workshop Dance:

1st place: 300 housepoints
2nd place: 250 housepoints
3rd place: 200 housepoints

7. Inter-House Dance:

1st place: Members are awarded 250 housepoints
2nd place: members are awarded 200 housepoints
3rd place: members are awarded 150 housepoints

8. Optional:

A maximum of 300 housepoints will be awarded

9. Combined promotions:

Each house will be awarded up to 400 housepoints for the discussion

Lord of the Dance Dates

All names for all dances to be pm’d to Elfie (either by heads of houses of individuals) by Saturday 24th June

Each category will have individual posting dates nearer the time and a forum will be opened for members involved

Approximated opening dates for dances (open lengths will depend on how many enter and are subject to change):

Group Dance: Monday 26th June (approximately 1 week)
Pairs: Monday 3rd July (approximately 1 week)
Festival Dance: Saturday 8th July (approximately 1 week)
Mime: Monday 3rd July (approximately 1 week)
Performance dance: Saturday 22nd July (approximately 1 week)
Workshop Dance: Saturday 15th July (approximately 1 week)
Inter-house dance: Saturday 15th July (approximately 1 week)

Combined discussions and promotions: After all dances have finished (approximately 1 week)
