| ::Duck stood on the pitch black stage, waiting in anticipation. She knew this dance well, and it was a dramatic performance. There were no lights in the concert hall, the audience sitting in darkness as well. This all added to the suspenseful feeling of the dance. And then, with the first powerful note of the music, a bright white spotlight bathed the two dancers in a luminous glow. The dance was begun.:: Our music: The Phantom of the Opera Overture https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJ3UbHpc32AOur costume: | |

| ::The two Gryffindor sisters were the waiting patiently on the stage in total darkness. Becky (rip) was on the stage right facing the front, head bowed and Amy (Duck) was facing the back on the stage left, about three metres away from Becky, head also bowed. As the the first, thunderous note struck, they both flung their arms out to the side sharply, holding on to their cloaks, as the spotlight fell upon them::
::Rip heard small gasps as the surprising, extremely loud introduction started. She could feel the adrenalin build up, something she knew she would need for this complicated and aggressive dance::

| ::The two dancers spun around to face each other, swirling their cloaks behind them. They then paused, whilst the music continued to swell.
On the next bar of the music, they jumped into box splitz and pushed through to japana so they were lying on their stomachs, their arms stretched out forwards.
Rip then rolled forwards onto her back, and Duck rolled backwards onto her back, they then drew their left leg's up and their right arm over their heads. They then performed a spectacular valdez.
They then transferred their weight onto their left leg, then held their cloaks with their right hand, bent forwards and as they drew back up, swished the dazzling cloaks back over their heads.::

| ::After the cloak had swished over their heads they one handed cartwheeled towards each other, again making the cloaks fly around wildly. Becky was now on the stage left, and Amy on the satge right::
::They then ran around the stage dramatically, crossing over paths. Becky ran to the back left, Amy ran to the back right. In the long pause of music, they stood in the back corners and quickly undid the clasps holding their cloaks securly round their necks and let them fall to the ground. The satge once again fell into darkness, as the two sisters waited for the main part of the overture, and the most impressive part of the dance::

| ::In the split second of darkness as they released their capes, Amy couldn't help but think that the dance was going well.
Then, as the lights returned to the stage, they ran in a diagonal line across the stage, meeting each other in the middle but crossing over and doing a handspring.
The handspring was one of the hardest moves in the entire dance, it consisted of the handspring itself, followed by a round off back half twist somersalt. It looked amazing, especially as they landed perfectly, their arms in a V-shape.::

| ::They then leant over to one side, Bex drawing her right leg up, amy her left, upto their knee. Their arms moved upwards into an attitude position.
Immediately afterwards, the did four quick windmill turns outwards in a V shape. Bex careering off to the stage left, Amy to the right. They were now facing each other on opposite sides of the stage. They chasse catleaped towards each other, and as they came in line (Amy in the front), they landed and did a double full turn jump, landing with knees slightly bent and arms pushed out forwards::

| ::Amy smiled her best stage smile, the dance was going great!
She then did a Y-balance, with her right leg and behind her, Becky did a Y-balance with her left leg. It looked very cool.
They dropped their legs down and went into splitz, Amy facing stage right and Becky facing stage left.::

| ::Thay swung their back legs round, so they were sitting in pike, their arms raised above their heads. They then swung their legs round towards the centre of the stage, in a windmill motion, bending one leg at the last minute so they could stand up.
They stood in second arabesque and paused, waiting for the change in the music. As the tune moved into the next phrase, Bex chassed to the back stage left corner, and Amy to the right. After the chasse, they did a grand jete, so they were both now facing the middle of the stage. They did a simple port de bras, and paused again::

| ::As the music began to reach it's end, they held their position until the music hit a crescendo.
Then, they flung their arms wide, heads tilted towards the ceiling, arms straight and backs erect.
They then did a body roll as the music tapered slightly, the lighting casting an eerie glow onto their masked faces.
They then did a 180 degree pirouette, to face the back, the lights dimming slightly. Then, on opposite legs, stepped back and kicked a leg out to the back, keeping it straight and poised.
They joined their feet back together, in a preparation stance (knees slightly bent, arms out in front), then did a split flick, which was like a backflip but legs split halfway through.
They then ran, arms held in third position (ballet), starting with a small-hop, until they had exchanged positions.::

| ::They slowly slid into splits, held the position for a few seconds, then swung their back leg round into a hurdle. They pushed into a leaning split, then rotated their body into a back bend. Thy lifted their right leg up stright, and kicked over to stand. They then did a doble pirouette so they were both facing the front::
::In perfect unison, they did a series of movements which could only be described as vogueing. After the complicated and quick movements, they ran into a handsping so they were both standing in opposite front diagonall corners::
::They paused, waiting for the music to build up. Becky took a deep and steadying breath. She knew this was the most tiring and complicated part of the dance. As there was a swoosh in the music, they turned to face the centre of the stage::
::The first note played, and Amy and Becky did a skip-step into a roundoff double backflip, criss-crossing over the stage. They then faced each other, chassed towards each other a did an Aerial cartwheel (no handed cartwheel) so they landed with Amy standing directly in front of Becky. Amy bent her knees slightly and moved her hands so they were just over her shoulders. Becky grasped her hands tightly, and stepped onto her hip from behind. She carefully and neatly climbed onto Amy shoulders, with Amy now holding Bex's ankles for support::
::Amy rotated slowly. They were only a few seconds left to complete the dance. (literally). Once Amy was facing the audience again, Bex bent her knees slighlty, and performed a double front summi, landing in fornt of Amy. She then quickly span around to face her sister. She went up into a handstand shape, her arms wrapped around Amy's waste. Her right leg was bent inwards, and her left leg was pointing straight out to the side. The music finished and the stage went dark::
::After a moment, the lights came back on. Amy lowered Becky, and she did a couple of pose turns so she was standing besides her sister. They grasped each others hands, did a back summi and bowed as the audience applauded. The dance was over::
