Anti-Ginny?

First topic message reminder :

Since HBP came out last summer, I have noticed an increased amount of anti-Ginny feeling in the fandom, and am curious to know why.

I think she is a great character - spunky, clever, Harry's perfect woman , so why do so many people hate her so much?

What are your thoughts on this? Do you like Ginny, and if not, why?

This anti-Ginnyness in fandom really confuses me :shock:

Eh, Ginny is okay, she's one of the annoying characters that I tend to dislike. IDk, there is something eerie about her, and she tries way too hard. She's charming, yes. but, I find her a little too perfect in some ways.

That's just how I feel.

I really like Ginny... she's the kind of person I wish I could say I was...

So I'm not Anti-GInny.... *coughI'manti-hermionecough*

I agree with cookie :D I like Ginny's character quite a lot, i dont see why anyone shouldnt like her...shes got things going for her.

People say Ginny's perfect, and she's really not. I mean, because she's pretty, and has friends, and is good at magic (like her brothers were-okay, maybe not Ron but...) doesn't automatically make her perfect.

She mis judged Fleur, remember that?

Im not anti-ginny as such but her character really starts to annoy me. She is like an annoying whingy child at times and quite often acts a lot younger than what she is.

I love Ginny's character. She is smart and a great witch. She makes a lot of the parts of the book funny.

It shows you how different all the members of the Weasley family are. She seems to have a little bit of everyone elses in the family best traits.

I love Ginny! She is awesome!! You guys are just jealous!! She is so the younger sibling she learned from everybody so snhe is perfect, my little sister is like that. She took brains form me, humor fomr my big sis, and spunkiness form my lil bro... it happens

Most people who hate girls who are a narraccisst. (sorry bout the
spelling) They also hate her becasue they like Harry. MOst people who
like Harry always end up hating GInny. Ginny is like my favorite
chracter so personally I really don't know.

Ho Hum. Can't say I'm the biggest fan of Ginny.
To be honest the only time I've ever had an opinion on her was in CoS. Other than that she was completely forgotten about by myself in the other books until OotP. Sometimes I think shes OK. Most of the time though I just .... can't seem to like her.
I guess at the end of the day Miss. Granger is the only female from HP I'll ever truly adore.

why? because I hate Harry and they are too much lookalike... too much horribly "perfect" (in fact they aren't but all the people around them think they are perfect!)

she's just a JKR's mary-sue... sooo beautiful that even slytherin could love her *cough cough* and soo... pinky! "oh harry i've neveeeeer forget my love for youuuu... what? who is Dean? i never know a dean? oh and yes, my brother ron is just not as cool as i am so i can laugh about him... i hurt him? oh come on! who cares? he's just the hero's bestfriend! oh and i'll laugh about Fleur... you see, she's french so she just a horrible girl right?"

<-that's how ginny appears to me in the 6th book... and i'm not jealous about her because she's with harry, stop thinking all girls are in love with harry, he's just a freacking selfish giggle!

I like Ginny....a lot. I n fact she's proabably one of my top three charectors.

I don't think she is precieved as perfect and definitly not a "mollie-sue" because sh eisn't afraid to get down and dirty and stuff. I think Ron deserved what he got from her. I know he was being protectriv ebut he did take it too far.

I really don't know what it is about Ginny that bugs me. I definitely don't hate her. I am just not fond of her. I haven't been from the very beginning. I definitely see Cil's point of her being Mary-Sue-ish in fanfics, though.
