Let's talk about the Harry/Ginny ship here.

I think I like it becuase, Ginny is perfect for Harry. I think they really need each other. Ginny is one of the few people who can talk to Harry when he is upset, and she also had that whole possesed thing. I think she understands him more than anyone else.

-How long have you shipped it? Sounds stupid but I use to hate until maybe..a month or two ago..

-Why do you prefer it to any of the other ships? I think its more important than the other ships (Although I like others..and not saying others aren't important)

I love this ship. It's my favourite. I think that Harry and Ginny are just made for each other. Plus, it completes the OBHWF ship. I've shipped H/G since the days of Gryffindor Tower (anyone remeber that site?)

I think H/G are definately going to get back together in book 7. I think that what Harry fears (Voldy uses Ginny as bait) will probably happen.

One Big Happy Weasley Family

So basically it means Harry and Ginny are married, and so are Ron and Hermione, they're one big happy weasley family.

I quite like this idea, though I think this is one of the things that a lot of Harmonians, Loony Lions etc, etc. don't like about Harry/Ginny, they think OBHWF is too cheesy.

I think it's sweet - Harry has always wanted a proper family, so why not the Weasleys?

Harry and Ginny? I dont know - it seems too weird but then again, although i kind of got the hint that they would get together, Im only on the forth book so maybe my views will change (I was a late Harry Potter starter lol)

I never actually imagined Harry with Ginny until the fifth book. She wasn't really a choice - it didn't seem to work out. But then, the wierdest things are sometimes so perfect! Like chips and cream - see the random food thread in community!

Harry and Ginny contrast each other because Harry hates attention, and I get the idea that Ginny is popular. They both have horrible tempers but they also compliment each other because...they just do.

And I believe that Potter men have a 'thing' for redheaded gutsy gryffindor girls.

I just started getting into harry potter...in august...and I didnt like Hinny until...probably 6th book...I know late...

me, i personally love this ship. it reminds me so much of james/lily, and i think its really cute. er... i forget what u want us to put about why we like it...

I really hope JK rowling continues with the ship, and i think she will. i mean, why would she put so much stuff about in the sixth book? and also, like I said before, Rowling kind of foreshadowed them getting together with James and Lily... um, getting together. I mean, the two couples look alike, and they got together later in their school years.

Harry/Ginny is my second favorite ship (after Lily/ james, haha) and i'm glad its not a harry/hermy ship. haha, i dunno why, but i dont like that.

well i'm gonna be honest... after the 2nd book, I never REALLY considered the question of Harry and Ginny would make a ship. They weren't... well...

When he fifth book came out, I saw harry with cho so i totally never thought of harr/ginny... but then i read book six and i totally think they're perfect together!!

I like the Harry Ginny ship because the characters are a good fit for each other. They're both stubborn, they both have horrible tempors, they share the love of quidditch, and neither one is a stickler for the rules. Plus Hermione loves Ron and don't get me started on Hosepipe.
I've shipped Harry Ginny since after book four. I figured they'd get together sometime during book five but was surprised it took to book six.
I like it better than any other ship because like I said they're just good fits for each other.

Its ok... I mean Im not a big shipper of it but I guess its ok.. I mean Ive never read a really good Hinny but Im sure there are some out there..... I just have no desire to read them anymore because Ive read some really bad Hinnys lol

For some reason something tells me that Ginny is only after his money and ths all. To me, she showed absolutley no affection towards him. That was a claer sign to me. And what was up with Harry all of sudden liking her? No hints during the other books and all of a sudden WHAM!!! he starts to have strong feelings for her?

I think it was way tooo late to start that romance...JK could have put some hints into the 5th book or something, ya know? but, its her work and her books so i cant really be judgemental on those things.

So yea, thats my reason as to why Harry and Ginny should not be together.

Okay, I can't make you love Ginny, that's a matter of opinion lol. But I have to disagree with a few thing you said.

First, Ginny is definitely not after Harry's money. She has always been in love with him, she was in the 2nd book, even in the 3rd and 4th you could read she was still a bit uncomfortable around him. And then, in the 5th book, she became more confident and all, and she started dating other guys - that did not mean she didn't have any feelings left for Harry, because if you read the 6th book, she explained that by saying that Hermione had gave her the advice that she should date other guys and be more herself around Harry, which in my opinion is a very good advice lol. As for signs in the 5th book... well, Harry was kind of hooked with Cho, even if Ginny had showed signs, he wouldn't have noticed or care. Instead, she became more friendly with him, which was something good I think.

There are several key H/G moments in the books preceding HBP, and they're clear to see.

You've got the chocolate in the library scene in OotP, this is where JKR starts to lay the path for H/G, and then in OotP, we also have the "Lucky You" scene.

This scene shows that only Ginny can understand exactly how Harry is feeling - there's a lot more to say but I can't be bothered to type it all - I could go on for ages!

Then in HBP, we're given hints that Harry didn't suddenly decide that he fancied Ginny, for example he feels disgruntled on the train to Hogwarts that Ginny goes to sit with Dean. His amortentia potion smells flowery, perhaps something at The Burrow. We then later learn that it is the smell of Ginny's perfume.

Harry and Ginny will get back together in book 7 - maybe not immediately, but it will happen.

One more thing (I swear, this is the last!), is that the Remus/Tonks relationship in HBP mirrors the H/G relationship.

I think that the R/T relationship is supposed to be a 'mirror' for Harry and Ginny's - sort of showing the reader (and Harry) what happens when you push away the person you love. Harry has broken up with Ginny because he thinks this will protect her, yet we've seen from the Remus/Tonks relationship that pushing away the person you love makes you weaker and changes some of your magic.

Definitely not my ship. Despite my intense dislike for Ginny, as I don't think that has anything to do with why I don't like this ship, I've just found it bland.

I'm sure there are some excellent fics out there with this pair, I just wouldn't be interested in reading them at all. Though I do suppose I'm bias against it.

I agree with Roman; I believe there is good Harry/Ginny ships, but i think this is quite boring (like Romione).. We know it's Harry/Ginny in the end....

ACTUALLY, there is plenty of evidence to suggest Harry's death, which would mean that Ginny's gonna have to find herself another man somewhere. Unfortunate... not really. O rly? Despite Ginny being the only one he knows that has been possessed, he doesn't remember her at all. He doesn't think about her until she points it out in a rather rude way. This is because she is... in the background.

hmm well I am a total H/G shipper, but I admit I never really read H/G fanfiction until after book 6 came out...reason being? It's CANON. I love the Harry Potter books, and therefore I don't think I could really love another un-canon ship. I used to read H/HR all the time because H/G stories didnt really have too much basis in canon until book 6, but nowadays I have to say that HHR is a lost cause. Clearly Harry and Hermione are out, and I love Ginny, mainly because Jo writes them so well together and you can tell she loves them and their relationship. Nobody can really justify saying: "Ginny doesn't really like Harry, they're wrong together" because they have no basis in canon (aka fact). The book has been written, H/G is canon. It doesnt matter if you like Draco/Ginny, thats fine, but you can't make very valid arguments about the "right-ness" of Harry/Ginny.

Just because its not likely that ship won't happen in the books doesn't mean you should throw it away and stomp on it. Just because H/G and Ron/Herms are canon doesn't mean other ships are awful.

And yes you can. You can make valid arguments on everything involving love. Maybe some people just don't like Ginny. I don't, I've always imagined her a young and annoying girl and once she became noticed in the sixth book and was snoggng guys and stuff, it didn't feel right. Maybe some people that don't like Ginny but full heartedly vouch for Harry believe Ginny doesn't deserve Harry. She's been through a lot of stuff, but so has everybody else. But this is all opinion stuff, and you can't really argue about it and get somewhere, because its very hard to change someones rock hard decision. And when people say H/G is like James/Lily ergh, I just don't like it. I know LIly probably isn't a bookworm and she probably seems a bit edgy on the outside, but I believe firmly that she is very emotional like Hermione on the inside. She thinks hard about things and she fears for her friends, that kind of thing. But anyway I got off track.

And for people that just like canon, because its canon; I don't get that. Its alright if you like all canon ships, but if you look at a ship and feel it probably wouldn't work, but like it and say you cherish it anyway just because its canon... I hope not many of you do that. Its ok to dream about true love. Sure love, goes through many bumps in the road, but its ok to believe in soul mates and that stuff. I feel as if sometimes people go straight for logical stuff and don't follow what they believe would ring true for the heart

I'm not one of those people lol. I've been a R/Hr and H/G shipper since way before they became canon, because I believe that they are the characters who should be together. And then when they became canon, it was even better!
