| It is thousands of years in the future and the earth is about to combust! The fate of the Earth's population lays in your hands!
Create a planet that would be fit for human inhabitation, though different from the Earth. Explain why you have made the planet the way it is.
You may create this planet using sketches, computer software, movie maker or any other visual means, though you must have a detailed explination to go with it.
Possible housepoints: 50

| Thousands of years into the future, the sun of our solar system is about to become a supernova. Earth will be destroyed, and so we need to find a new home for the population. Twenty earth years ago, the people who hold the power of space travel sent three ships into space, such ships that had never been seen before: ten miles long, with the ability to travel thousands of lightyears in a matter of minutes, with special suspended animation chambers where the crew would be able to travel long distances without any knowledge of time passing, and without aging. Their mission would be to find a suitable earth-type planet, where the inhabitants of the Earth could be evacuated to, when the time came. The first of these ships returned to Earth after only ten years of her voyage, she had encountered an enemy spacecraft during the search for a new earth, and all but twenty crew members had been killed. Slowly, but surely, they guided their ship back to Earth, admitting defeat. It was now down to the two remaining crafts. The second ship returned after fifteen years, the crew members having tired of the mission and becoming resigned to the fact that they would never find another earth-type planet. The third ship however remained in space, searching for a new planet to save us all. Eventually, in the eighteenth year of their voyage, they came across a blue-green planet in a solar system similar to our own thousands of lightyears away from Earth. There were seven planets in this solar system, the blue-green one being the second closest to the sun. The crew deployed a shuttle to explore this new planet, and they found it to have a breathable atmosphere, drinkable water and lush, green land. There were animals there too, elephants that didn’t look like elephants – they had shorter trunks and were a lot smaller. There were lions which were tame and allowed the crew members to approach and stroke them. However, there were no signs of humanoid lifeforms, for which the crew were thankful. They used their shuttle to land in several different places on this planet, near the polar ice caps, near the equator, all over. Everywhere they encountered the same, pleasant land. In the fifth week of their stay on the planet, they discovered the tunnels. One of the crew members had been sitting next to a gurgling river in the western hemisphere of the country, enjoying the sunshine, when she spied a cavernous hole leading deep into the ground. She called over her fellow crew members, and they took a vehicle into the hole, which turned out to be a sort of tunnel. After several miles into the tunnel, the roof and floor began to appear damp, and dripping, and so they concluded that they were now beneath the ocean bed. Continuing forwards, after two days of solid travelling in their vehicle, they emerged into dazzling sunlight, and used one of their satellites to pinpoint their location. They were now on another land mass, oversea from where they’d started. The tunnel connected the two pieces of land! Excited by the discovery, the crew scanned the planet and found that it was riddled with tunnels of this sort, all of the land masses were connected. Several weeks later, after they’d collected all the samples they needed and carried out all the tests necessary, the crew returned to their ship and began the long journey home. They spent most of the time in suspended animation, and so the thousands of lightyears journey seemed to take no time at all. They arrived back on the Earth nineteen years after they’d first set out, to find the Earth in a state of sheer panic. The sun was reaching the end of its life, experts predicted only five or so years until the Earth was no more. Would that be enough time for a mass evacuation to the new planet? | When the Earth came to an end, half of the world's people were sent to a new planet called Nemmupvass. It took the people 21 years to reach Nemmupvass, but it was worth it. The new planet was fit for human imhabitation, in an unsicovered gallexy. Nemmpuvass was the closest planet to the sun, there called Nus, in the small gallexy of Shysnersorn. Shysnersorn only had 3 planets, including Nemmpuvass, the other two planets where called Nnyl and Rebma, both were filled with posionous gases as far as the people could tell. Nemmpuvass had only one moon like the Earth the moon's name was Noom. Only 1/3 of the planet was land and it was directly between where the Earth's Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn whould be located. The poles had no land surrounding them, and there was no ice caps. The remaining 2/3rds was water, however it was all fresh water. So some types of animals died out, while others adapted. There was only one ocen in Nemmpuvass, it was called the Paci Ocean. There wer many lakes and rivers in within the land, that was there. Although there were no islands. Amazingly enough all types of climates chould be felt within the land mass. So people didn't have to adapt that much. Also there was only one country called Naaaase. Which was also the name of the contanent. For a long while there was no electrity on Nemmupvass and the first 7 generations of people haad no modern appliances. Eventually people found ways to get modern appliances to work. However as I said it took 7 generations. Nemmupvass did not have any animals. So as the people could only bring 2 males and 2 females of each kind of animal, the first 7 generations had no meat. Instead they lived off the natural vegitation that had already grown there. Nemmupvass had an atmosphere, but as there were no people to ruin it. There was no holes in the O-zone layer, causing alot less people to die of air related deseases. Also only people who where in perfect or almost perfect health could go. Meaning people didn't ever hardly die of desease period. Life on Nemmupvass was good for the people. While those who had grown up on Earth missed it. Those who were born on Nemmupvass, lived happily and were always willing to learn about the place that humanity had really come from. https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v416/Amberg93/Siggys%20and%20site%20banners/myplanet.gifsources: my head :D | |

| The planet of Retter was discovered just before the earth combusted. The planet was a deep green and purple mix of colors. Planet Retter or "Savior" as it is translated from German text; is an inhabital planet that is similar to the properties that make up earth. With it's large mass below the surface, made up of mostly rock and metals, this planet is indeed inhabitable. About 68% of this planet is covered in green 'water' or thin liquid that holds all of the nutrients of earth water but is colored green. The land masses upon the surface are mostly a variety of purple and even some teal in small areas.
Unlike Earth, however, there is a thin layer around the planet that acts as an air shield that keeps the planet from being crushed by the mass of space. This air shield has the strength to resist most of the harmful rays of the sun as well.
Retter is roughly 1.380 kg and has an orbit of 345,980,000 away from the sun. It doesn't fall in line with any of the other planets. There are three moons that surrounds this planet and so therefore there are only 3 seasons, one for each moon at the specified turns of the tides.
The creatures on this planet vary though are very different from those of the earth. Most are edible, yet not as tasty.
The reason I have made it this way was to simply branch out from the norm and create something easy yet looking as though it were complex. And speaking of complex, the plants that grow on this planet are indeed just that. Instead of having to use one here and there to make medicines, many all share the same properties as they all grow in purple and teal dirt and grass. The sky is not blue but a light red all of the time; this is due to the reflection of the UV rays off the air shield that are prevented from entering Ketter and so therefore people can easily get a suntan without worrying too much about skin cancer.
The seasons are a little longer with there only being three and at night the sky in a luminant of a soft pinkish purple haze.
Because of some of the elements on this planets, certain ones brought from earth may or may not work will together. Experimentation is the only way to find this out but hopefully nothing dangerous enough to blow up the planet.
So there you have it, the planet of Retter and the future of Earth's people are saved.
