Are You a Musician?

Are there any musicians here on the site, whether it be singing or playing an instrument.

I started learning my dads electric guitar a few years back but i didnt get very far. I can play the piano/keyboard and i sing a little (I was in a choir when i was younger)

I consider myself a musician.... lol.

I played the clarinet in fourth grade, Violin before that, Piano from fourth to seventh grades, and now my mom is trying to get me into cello lessons. Ooooo, I also sing a lot, but thats not really an instrument....

There... my musical life in a nutshell for you :D

I sing lol. My voice is the instrument I play ^^

I also play a little bit of piano, but I can't like.. do the accompaniment, I learned to play myself and I play by ear, so most of the time if you give me a song, I'll be able to play the melody almost right away, but that's all.

I also play the clarinet since I was 10 lol but I don't like it that much anymore. And I'm trying to learn to play the guitar, but I'm never patient enough... I know how to play the bass guitar partition of Stand by me on an accoustic guitar though rofl ^^

I sing.......Im in Choir and select emsemble, but i dont PLAY anything....actually i played the clarinet once....but i quit.....so now i sing.....

I would have loved to learn clarinet! It seems to be a very popular instrument to play

Clarinet hurts your tongue for a while after starting it... but all in all its a pretty easy instrument to play... well, I think it was :D

I would like to learn how to play the guitar sometime... I can play "Mary had a little Lamb", though! teehee

lol playing clarinet doesn't hurt my tongue, it hurts my cheeks and jaw lol ^^ it becomes all stiff if you play for too long... it hurts my thumb too, because of the little thing at the back of the clarinet lol

If you call singing part of musician then yes.

I've been singin since I was about 9 and now I'm really good.

I've sung at parties, talent shows, birthdays...stuff like that.

I'm thinking about going for American Idol when I turn 18

That's cool ^^ we have something similar in Quebec, called "Star Académie", and I wanted to go for it as well, but I might not, I'm not sure yet.

I love singing too ^^ I've been singing ever since I've been talking lol I'm in a choir as well, and I took singing lessons for 2 years. I'm stopping the lessons though cause I'll be too busy with college, and I didn't like it that much cause it was mostly theory I already knew but anyway. I think I sing quite well lol I don't like hearing myself... but anyway

I like to sing, and i think i am pretty good at it. but thats about it. I have ALWAYS wanted to be able to play guitar, but i have no one to teach me = (

Hm...I've been in choir for three years...ugh. lol. I don't think I'll be doing it past this year though.

And I play clarinet and it doesn't hurt my tongue(except for that one time when someone hit my clarinet when I was playing and i cut my tongue on the reed), but my cheeks start to hurt. Today in band we all played for the first day since summer break ended and yeah...hehehe. I didn't bring my instrument since I forgot it but the instructor didn't care. Hehehe. So yeah, I play clarinet and a little bit of trumpet and sax. Eek! :D

Argh school show coming up! I have to play and do a Forrest gump theme song solo blerp!!

I play guitar- got a gibson flying v named Ziggy and an acoustic named 'Zippy' I like playing guitar and I finally got down most of the 'Free Bird' riff and I love to play it!!!

I try different music like I'm trying to play some Nickelback songs but so far I'm not doing all that good. OH well practice makes better :D

i only play flute! lololol well used to play in 5th and 6th grade and i was good at it now i'm not so sure it's been a while

i like to sing too, i use not to like hearing me but now 'm learning to enjoy my voice it's much more fun. and my friends like it so..

Before i never liked the way i sing, mostly because im an alto, and all the rest of the women in my WHOLE family all are soparno's however recently i've come to appericate my altoness as ive learned that i am unque in my home because of it and my choir teacher put me in Select Enemble and told me i have a great alto voice and should love it :D so now i love my voice *huggles my awesome alto voice*

Nugh, I hate hearing myself sing... at acting camp, all of my friends said I was good and I should be proud and all... but I hate hearing myself! I always hear the mistakes and it physically pains me :D

But yes, I sing alllllllllll the time.... just ask my family :D

well i can play the piano and recorder but not much else lol

I have played electric guitar since I was 11 and was in a band called 'compound ruin' but dropped out because I had a massive fight with one of the band mates. I can't sing whatsoever but I can play 'hot cross buns' on the recorder

I've always been in touch with music, all the way.... When i were 6, i played piano. At the age of 8 i started with guitar and more rock-ish instruments. Then i fell madly in love with rock guys (at the age of 9 lol) and stuff and picked up the electric guitar and never let go of it :D So practically i can play these:

- Piano
- Guitar
- Electric Guitar
- Bass
- Drums (WHOO!!!)

So, the main instruments... whatever. Then at the age of 11, me and my friends put up a band. Unfortunately the curse of "Sex, drugs and rock 'n roll" kicked in and now we're sort of on a break. I never even thought of doing solo O.O Scary thought.. But we did quite well! We made our first single, which turned out to be quite a disaster. In finland, you can't actually sing what you want, if you want it to be sold well! So we had to break all our rules; sing in finnish instead of english, leave the dark metal out (blaaah..) and keep it more to the pop/wnbrock.

Also, singing has always been one of the things i never can kick off. Pity. Naah i love singing! At times it gets frustrating when my mom gives me so much pressure, but lately i've been good at ignoring stuff :D

Anywayyyyy I still play my guitar but I have a bad habit now of breaking the E string on mine a lot :(

I play guitar and that's about it. I'm still kinda learning, so it's not real good. I even make my own songs, My mom says I have a real good sining voice, but i really don't think so.

I too am one that sings. I love to sing karaoke. I also play the keyboard although I am not the best at it.

i play bass and sing =D and im in a band. . . i write ze lyrics =D and i taught myself to play bass, therefore i dont think im that good =/ :P

i sing and i am learning how to play gutair . I write songs and me and tessarox07 are staring our own group.

But, I'm taking lessons for Piano now and I joined choir. Can't either because my direcotr gave me a solo in the upcoming choir concert!!!

ive played guitar for 11 years and won 3rd place in a statewide guitar competition when i was 18. i also can play the drums, bass guitar, trombone, sing and can do a little bit on the keyboard as well. i can play pretty much anything with strings that doesnt require a bow to some degree... *shrug*

I've taken piano lessons for ten or eleven years now. I also played the clarinet for two years. I suppose I can carry a tune. I'm more an instrument person than vocal, but apparently my voice is decent because I'm in one of the local upcoming musicals.

Oh, and i rock out at guitar hero :D

okay I've summed it up, bass guitar, drums, guitar, violin, viola, cello, bass, some piano and my nose!

lol not really that last one but everything else I can do pretty decently. Also I sing (if you count singing in the shower)

I just started playing piano again... I don't take lessons, but my mom got med all of this sheet music for Christmas. Best of the Beatles, Keane, Coldplay... and that's all I can remember right now :D

But I only know one real song (you know, stuff that's not "Mary had a little Lamb", because I also know that one :D ) and I'm making up a song. I still need to write it down, but I have the first part made up

i've been playing the guitar for nearly seven years, i'm aslo learning to play the bass at the moment

I've been playing the violin and viola for the past 13 years.
Been playing the chello for about 8 years.
Can play clarinet and a little piano.

Got a guitar for Christmas so sooner or later I will eventually start learning to play it properly rather than just playing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Can't sing though. I ain't got a note in my head !

Well i play the flute, and i'm in band soo yea. Most of mi friends r in band too, and play flute, excpet one of mi friends Kim, she plays the drums.

I sing, I play a little clarinet and piano. I'm thinking about starting guitar lessons soon.

Yea I guess i could call myself a Muscian. I play Clarinet for my school band....i play keyboard/piano....and i'm working on bass guitar (Not much progress though)
