Harry Die?

My friend and I were talkin the other day and we both decided that Harry had to die in order for Voldemort to die; not because he's a Horicux but because he and Harry have connected wands, the same blood and the whole ability thing.
Curious what other people think...

I thought there was already a thread about this but maybe im wrong.

It is probable that this could happen, I mean the prophesy says the other one cant live whilst the other survives, but surviving and living is totally different. Neither can live whilst the other survives because there is always that threat. If one is dead then the other can live and not just survive - does that make sense?

It does seem to say that one or the other has to die - but I cant see it being Harry (or i dont want to lol)

One of them has to die in order for the other one to live. Both Harry and Voldemort alive, neither one can really live a normal life because they are arch enemies. Voldemort dead, Harry can live a normal life. Harry dead Voldemort can be free to reign in terror without the fear of being killed.

So only one will need to die to fill the prophecy. And I am pretty certain it will be Voldemort.

I think Harry will live, and I think that if Jo wrote the whole series for him to die it would be a waste. I really dont think it's going to happen

The prophecy as stated above is basically saying that one has to die for the other to live becasue they will try to attack each other.

I agree with Snapes_girl on this. It does make sense, you have to admit, for one to live and the other die. I personally want Harry to snuff it, but that's just me.

as i think about this i believe that harry will die. It's stupid that after Dumbledore's death for him to live.

why would it not make sense ofr him to live after dumbldore? I think it wouldnt make sense if he died, to have the whole series and then for him to die? Uh-uh!

he's 16 and if u haven't noticed he's pretty thick. His main source of help has just died. Harry is doomed

well he'll be 17 for most of it! LOL. Just becasue he's a little thick I don tthink he's gunna die. It really doesnt seem to be a good ending.

hmmm...i don't know...Dumbledore was his biggest protector and his biggest source of knowledge. His chances are horribly low

Yes, but I thibnk he has the tools and friends and determination to realize his own knowledge and stregnths, and he can totally surive on his own (by that I mean without Dumbledore) if he has ROn and Hermione and the order behind him. (which he does!)

What would be the point of Harry's death? So many people have sacrificed their lives, not so that he could defeat Voldemorte, but so that he would live. I think that J.K. would be doing a disservice to the whole moral thread of the books to kill off Harry. I think that Dumbledore had to die so that Harry could embrace his destiny and stop relying so much on Albus, its kind of like Obi-One dying so that Luke Skywalker could be a better jedi. Now Harry has to stand on his own, and he will defeat Voldemort, but he will be alive and kicking at the end of Book 7.

Yeh I agree there would be no sense Harry dying. The whole books have led to him defeating Voldemort, the good v evil thing, so if Harry dies then its kinda like evil winning which would give off the wrong impression

I also agree about the fact that there would be no sense for Harry to die. He is the hero of the books,that`s the character that is mostly liked and that is talken about.Even the books` name are Harry Potter.

Actually I had read a couple of year ago in a daily teen news paper that J.K Rowling had decided to not kill Harry.I hope it will be that way.But maybe she changed her decition!

i think harry will die........ just my thought...... but i also think that if harry does die then maybe theyll bring him back somehow..... hes got hermine so anyhting bound to happen.....lol

of course it makes no sense cuz that what we hope that harry wont die. but then again, it would be too typical if he wont die though i hope he doesnt and if he doesnt then who will....

I also think that if Harry dies, Voldemort will die with him too...Don't know why..

Okay well I truly do not hope so and I have been sticking up for Harry surviving for awile for things Nancy said and purely the fact that it is a good vs evil sort of book and good ALWAYS defeats evil XD its sorta morally right but then again j.k never stuck to the rules. But last night on Jonathan ross j.k. did a talk and she said that on a chapter near the end she howled grabbed a bottle of champaign and went home with mascara down her face. I think this will be the chapter where the two characters die and then she said I think at the end of book 7 it will be obvious that Harrys story has come to an end. So do you think she meant he was going to snuf it.

Not neccassarily- I think that is could just point to the fact that the ending summarizes the rest of Harry's life- like Harry lived to 108 years old, and died surrounded by his children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and Ginny...etc.

Another Reason Harry Won't Die- profit! If Harry dies it will cast a shadow over the last two movies...and future book sales. Why would someone want to invest all that time just to see Harry die. If she kills Harry I think the movies would suffer for it (I for one would skip the last six and seven- how depressing to see Dumbledore and Harry killed? I'm already not looking forward to Sirius's death)
