RULES FOR DUELS:

1) Each person will be allowed to make 6 posts – no double posting allowed!! One person posts and then the next person posts - so on and so forth.
2) In the beginning of each round there will be rules set at the top. Follow them carefully – they will change for each duel.
3) The duel is over when each dueler has completed their 6 posts.
4) Scores are updated regularly on this thread
5) Only the people listed on the thread can post in the duel. Find your name and begin!
6) All made up spells should have the translation in brackets with what they do.

Posts will be open at midnight on Saturday October 21st, 2006. Get ready to duel!!

Round One

Scores are given out of 60 (10 points for each post within a match). These scores cover creativity, imagination, spells use both in attack and defense, remembering there are some better uses of defense for spells than others, spells that work well together and that don’t – so on and so forth. Scores have been awarded by a team of four people, Elfie Dumbledore and three others who are not part of this site!

RULES ROUND TWO:

1) Each person will be allowed to make 3 posts (3 for you and 3 for your partner which will be 6 posts) – no double posting allowed!!
2) You may use created spells ONLY to either attack or defend. I want to see how creative you can be!
3) When all parties are finished the match is over and your duel will be reviewed and the scores will be listed on the scoring thread.
4) Scores will be updated regularly.
5) You have TWO weeks to complete this duel. If your partners don’t show up we will try and contact them. If you don’t complete the duel by the end of the two weeks we will judge you on what’s there and it will affect your score. (Time frame may change so keep an eye out for announcements)
6) ONLY the people listed on the thread can post in this duel.
7) Posting will go as follows: One of you must post first, then the other team gets to post, then your partner, and then the other teams partner. This process will repeat itself until 12 posts are completed.

Round Two

Round Three

Twenty duelers are left in this round. The remaining duelers have been divided into four teams. This duel is to test your understanding and usage of your surroundings. You can post an unlimited amount of times with spells from the books or ones you’ve created on your own. This duel is set in a dense forest. It’s raining and the sun isn’t shinning all that bright. Keep in mind there are some better uses of defense for spells than others, and other’s that don’t work as well together. Work with your team through the forest to find your opponents and attack. Your score is based on your overall performance but a large portion of it is based on how you react to your surroundings. Scores have been awarded by a team of four people, Elfie Dumbledore and three others who are not part of this site!

Welcome to the third round of the dueling tournament!!

The rules are as follows:

3) This duel will remain open for a week only.

5) The setting is a dense forest, very little sun and it’s raining. Use your surroundings and seek out your opponents!
6) ONLY the people listed on the thread can post in this duel.
7) There is no order for posting. But keep in mind no double posting is allowed!

Round Four

Fourteen duelers are left in this round. The remaining duelers have been divided into two matches. It’s everyone for themselves in this epic round! This duel is to test your understanding and usage of defensive spells and to find the best defensive spell to counteract someone else’s spell. You can post an unlimited amount of times with spells from the books or ones you’ve created on your own. This duel is set in an open field. It’s a blizzard out there and you can barely see in front of you. The temperature is dropping quickly. The weather can more or less not be changed to something else – you have to work with it in order to pass this round of dueling. Keep in mind there are some better uses of defense for spells than others, and other’s that don’t work as well together. Your score is based on your overall performance but a large portion of it is based on how you react to spells and how your defense is within the duel. Scores have been awarded by a team of four people, Elfie Dumbledore and three others who are not part of this site!

5) The setting is an open field. There’s a blizzard out and you can barely see in front of you and the temperature is dropping fast. The weather more or less can’t be “changed” – you have to work with it.
6) ONLY the people listed on the thread can post in this duel.
7) There is no order for posting. But keep in mind no double posting is allowed!

It’s everyone for themselves in this epic round! As we know – not all duels will be set on foot so to make this duel challenging we will have a battle in the sky! Don’t forget your broomsticks for that is the only outside item you’ll be allowed to use. Because we’re keeping to the sky you must stay on your broom. If your broom is destroyed you can call for another. This duel is to test your versatility in the air while dueling. You can post an unlimited amount of times with spells from the books or ones you’ve created on your own. This duel is set in the sky on a cloudy night. Keep in mind there are some better uses of defense for spells than others, and other’s that don’t work as well together. Your score is based on your overall performance but a large portion of it is based on how flexible you are within the duel while on a broom. Scores have been awarded by a team of four people, Elfie Dumbledore and three others who are not part of this site!

5) The setting is in the sky on a cloudy night.
6) You’re only allowed a broom as your outside item. If it’s destroyed you may call for another.
7) ONLY the people listed on the thread can post in this duel.
8) There is no order for posting. But keep in mind no double posting is allowed!

Keep in mind you’ll be in an open space within a large room. You can post an unlimited amount of times with spells from the books or ones you’ve created on your own. Keep in mind there are some better uses of defense for spells than others, and other’s that don’t work as well together. Your score is based on your overall and the same scoring system will apply. Scores have been awarded by a team of four people, Elfie Dumbledore and three others who are not part of this site!
