Round One - running_swift vs Severus Snape

Severus Snape walked onto the duelling platform and grinned as he realised that he would be duelling swifty!

"protector máximo" he uttered, barely moving his lips as the strong shield surrounded him. He smiled. He had been practising unspoken spells since the last tournament.

This was too easy, he thought as he uttered wordlessly the words "Conjure el taburete" A wooden stool appearing out of nowhere. He grinned again and sat down, wand in hand as he awaited his opponant

Swift smiled slightly to herself as the Potions Master walked gleefully into the room. It wasn't a big deal that she herself was already sat silently in a corner, off the platform; this was her first duel, and she had come not just prepared, but ready and waiting for her opponent, not to mention at least half an hour early.

She had used this extra time to conjure up her specially-made pink fluffly cloud with pale red bunny ears attached. It was made of thinly drawn fibre threads, intricately woven together to form a cloud-like shape. Each strand emitted a light glow, which varied in intensity with command, as if electricity pulsed continuously through them, and a variable resistor was attached to each one. This wasn't true, of course, since it was upon this mass of fibre that Swift sat cross-legged, shrouded by darkness in her corner of the room.

She watched him for a while, sitting on that stool as if he owned it... which was probable. Even so, Swift didn't mind adding another piece of furniture to her already large collection. A girl couldn't be in comfort without her trusty stool! Pointing her wand at the stool, she thought Solvo, the direct Latin translation of the verb to loosen. After all, it now appeared that the Potions Master was her father.**see below** What was his was hers, surely?

As the stool disappeared from beneath Snape - thanks to a discrete Banishing charm - he fell with a thud to the floor. Focussing slightly on her cloud, the petite Chinese floated towards her colleague, still cross-legged, but now grinning. A light rose colour emanated from the cloud, where she hovered two feet above the ground.

"Always think about your surroundings, dad, not just yourself," she said to him, leaning over the edge of the cloud. She hopped off it, and its glow faded slightly.

"Allow me to introduce you to Yaku." Swift indicated the glowing mass behind her. "Formalities done with," she continued, smirking, "let the duel begin!"

Mick fell to the ground with a thump, grimicing, he looked above him to see swift grinning down at him.

He pulled himself to his feet and walked silently in a circle hoping to un nerve his opponant. Suddenly he turned, hoping to catch swift off guard, pointed his wand at her and wordlessly cast the Magnete di muro charm. (wall magnet) The charm hit swift straight on, pushing her back against the wall. He knew that every time she tried to pull free the walls magnatism would pull her back.

To finish his turn, he grinned and whispered the words 'silencio' hoping that swift had not practised her wordless spells, though it would be difficult to raise her wand away from the wall...
