Percy Weasley

What does everyone think of Percy?

In my opinion he's a pompous git, who cares about nothing more than his job.

In the first few books we were introduced to him as Ron, Ginny, Fred and George's older, slightly annoying, brother, but then in Book Five we began to see his true colours, perhaps.

He chose his work and loyalty to the Ministry over his family, he told Ron to stop being friends with Harry, and he wouldn't believe them when they said Voldemort was back.

There's been lots of speculation that Percy is acting as a double agent, duping his family by abandoning them to work as a spy in the Ministry for the Order. I don't buy into this, because I don't think even as a double agent someone could be so callous to their own parents and family.

Thoughts?

I have read a few fics where percy is working as a sort of spy for the order though I dont think this is actually true because Molly is too upset with his actions and words.

I think he is simply an idiot with some limited brains that generally only focus upon his own benifit. He puts himself before anyone and personally I hope he is one of the characters who will die in the last book lol

I hate him!! SOrry but I do!! He is a scum bag!! I think that he let his brain get in the way of his heart and he now has no brain, he has what the minster gives him.

I am sad to say that I have never liked Percy very much. From book was I saw him as a know it all goody-goody and my dislike grew for him with every book.

Now that he has turned traitor on his family, I don't feel so guilty about not liking him so muc. From what we have read about the Weasley's they are an awesome family and do all they can for eachother. So why is Percy so different?

I think he has gone too far in Ron, Fred, George and Arthur's eyes and I really don't see them forgiving him for what he has done.

Let's hope that he can redeem himself for Molly's sake.

*tear* Am I the only Percy-lover on this site? I think Percy is such a cool(lack of better word) character. He's so compelx. I mean sure he's made a bunch of mistakes in his life, but who's to say he won't fix his ways in book 7?

Alrighty with that said, I'll share my "Why-Percy-left-home" theory. I say he ran away to Elope with Penelope. I mean Why not right? So far all the Weasley's seem to have a wild side except Percy! Why can't he go and do something crazy everyonce and a while? I mean, JK loves suprises, and this would definitly suprise readers.

Well, my theory is if he does repreive himself, will he die doing it? I think he might die to save a ammber of his family, which would be perfect becasue it gets rid of him and saves another charector.

Yea, but I dont want ot beleive it. I want him to be all mushy gushy and come crying hime so the twins can punish him, but I dont like it when thinggs like htat happen. When I read that Percy ran away my outh literally dropped open.

Yea, I think he ruine dit for himself by running away from home, he let his own head get in the way of his life

OMG! your so mean! I dont want anyone to die, cept Voldielocks, but I would rather him die then Ron or the twins

NO offense but I think Percy is a big goof! Hes a like a wizard goofy! He takes everything for granted!

I never really liked him much but I hope he does make it up with his family for Mrs Weasleys sake. I also think he has a chance of dying in the next book and I think that might be a shock to the family.
I do think he is ambitios and quite horrible but he just wants to better himself. I think he is sort of ashamed of being a weasley and just wanted to do something good with his life. It turned out he went the wrong way and is to scared and stuck up to admit he was wrong.

When he came back he was really out to prove that he meant it. And while I respected him for it I couldn't help still being bitter towards him. I liked how he named one of his kids Molly though.

I loved when he came back and I think i accepted him a bit too quickly! The second he walked in I was like, "PERCY!!!!"!

I was still mad when he walked in.. all i could think about was that he was being fake. Probably becuase it was so fast but I didn't beleive him at first.. or completely

Even though I never really liked Percy, I always thought there had to be quite a bit of good in him since he was raised by such great parents.
