Dolores Umbridge

I think Umbridge is my most loathed character in the whole of the HP universe.

I think in some ways, what she does is worse than what Voldemort does. OK, so she doesn't go around killing people, but her 'discipline' methods are almost as bad.

It's sadistic to set a detention for a student like the one she gave to Harry in book five.

And the way she removed Dumbledore from his headmaster position, undermined McGonagall, turned Trelawney into a snivelling drunk and encouraged the evil students (Malfoy et al) to be 'role models' to the rest of the school...

Ugh, I hate her.

sadistic yes completely and also very insane - a terrible mix. If she wasnt such a ministry and fudge fanatic I would have put her down as a deatheater type person

Shes really funny to read about though. She is truely evil but very ambitious. I really hate her

I absolutly dispise her! But, in some ways I find her hilarious! OotP is my fav book out of the series, so I kinda in a weird way enjoy reading her parts. Even though I can't stand her. She's cruel, but then her manner in the beginning is really funny.

I'd run if she came back!

Me and Dolores have a love-hate relationship I absolutly hater for all the mean and horrid things she does but I totally think she is so funny becasue she makes Harry go mad and brings out the best and worst (same things) of the twins. I thuink she really united the school

Waaah - she's nasty, nasty, nasty! I hate her! On the other hand, there wouldn't have been any cool DA or funny Fred&George fireworks without her... I definitely wouldn't like to have to deal with her for real,but she does add some spice to the books! :D

Most hated person in the books? Wouldn't that role go to voldemort. I did not like this character in the slightest she abused her power but yet she is an idiot she is so stuck up her own butt she can't see how the world should work. But then she can be entertaining and I think that j.k. has said she will come back into the books.

I think she was even more horrible in 7 then I could have predicted. There wasn't anything funny about the things she was doing to those people.

I agree with Katie. She was absoulutley horrid in the seventh! With the whole "stealing of power" thing and interrogations. That was just wrong. And she had Mad-Eye's eye stuck to the door which sicked me because that's just not right.

I hate Umbridge for who she is but I love how she united the school against her and brought out the very rebellious side of all the students. While she's sick and twisted and has no conscience at all, I still like her for her role in the books.

But as a person I agree with everyone, she's just horrid and her methods and thoughts about what's right are really skewed.
