I do wonder if there is more to him than meets the eye though

He is bitter as Ron mentions. He is a squib and works at a school where he basically serves people who are more talented them him.. I would be bitter too

well i think that he hates all magical people. not just kids. do you think mrs norris is magical?

Well I know he is horrible and bitter but he is just jealous really isn't he and in some way I feel sorry for him. Though Mrs Norris has something funny about her.
J.K. has said that a squib will show some sign of magical ability at a later age and this one might be filch. Though I don't think that would be for the better or see how it could help the plot.

Was he mentioned in this book? I can't remember.. lol. I think I learned to appreciate him though and I think he is a lot like Petunia.

I really don't like Filch...he really annoys me because he's so interested in medieval ways of detention...just like umbridge.

I kind of like Filch in a weird way. He is funny but all he cares about is the school and Mrs. Norris. I can kind of see hmi as one of those old people with no family and act grumpy but is really caring inside.

That is really sad! It probably adds to his feeling of hate towards the students because he will never get the chance to learn!

Filch is one grumpy, old bitter man but I can't help but like him. I think he's really funny. It's too bad that he hates magic because he can't do it. Poor guy....
