Arithmancy Basics

Arithmancy can be one of the hardest subjects, so we will begin with the very basics to get us into the swing of things.

Arithmancy is a method of divination by numbers first used by the ancient Greek wizards.

For this class, we will simply be working on changing your name into numbers and areas which correspond with this. (You will need to research into arithmancy workings to complete this lesson. This can be found in many sites on the web but don’t forget to cite your sources. If copying is thought to occur, points will be deducted!)

Remember – show your workings with each question! The simple answer will be marked wrong!

1. Using the above chart, convert your username into numbers – Show how you would get down to a single digit, showing the process. (10 points)

2. What is this number called? (5 points)

3. Calculate your heart number.(10 points)

4. What does the heart number represent? (5 points)

5. Calculate your social number (10 points)

6. What does the social number represent? (5 points)

7. Using the above personality numbers (found in question 1), describe what they tell you about your personality! (10 points)

8. Using two characters from the Harry Potter verse, work out their personality number, (as in question 1) and describe their compatibility. (20 points)

9. Using any ship within the Harry Potter verse, work out what the future holds for them using the concept learnt in question 1. (25 points)
