Event Suggestions Thread #2

What about a mastermind type game. Either Harry Potter or general Knowledge. A member could even pick their chosen subject? Or even university challenge? (this could be house challenges?

A scrapheap challenge event? Members given 'scrap' items and asked to 'build' something?

Hard to sell game? Members given weird things to 'sell' and the best wins?

We could have this race coarse thing like you have to run through the department of mysteries but in each room there is a challenge, and the last person to complete each challenge is out or something like that...idk

ok i had an idea for a short event that could probably be finished before the end of the year.

well....theres this show called brainteaser and its like....word games. there's loads of different types of them. for example you have to unjumble this word:

well we could have like a HP auction where you could auction HP characters or items....not sure ow this would get you housepoints but it seemed like a fun thing to do!

I like the Idea of The HE idol, sounds rad,

okay here's one we could possibly do,

it's a dating show, you know you go on one date and they time you, so if you were on the date for 50 minutes you'd get $50,

so we could do it as describe the perfect date, then we have judges rate it, on a scale of one to ten, ten for 1000 points or something like that

I am telling you we should do a HE real world XD then we have to do a jobs and stuff wee i feel smart...

I think we should do an Event called

And in this we could have people run for president. Of course, they would choose a running mate and make posters and avatars, and banners, and buttons. It would be really cool, then at the end of each week, everybody on the site would vote for who they think should win, and the person with the least amount wins. Naturally, we would need mreo things to do then that, but think... we oculd have debates, RPG appearences, people could write speechs on how to make HE better.

I saw that a play had once happened in HE events, though I was thinking perhaps along those lines yet going further.

What about each house creating a film, needing production people as well as actors.

To make it into a long running tournament, you could have many short films covering different genres each time, ie: horror, comedy etc

i think there should be somthing like a second yule ball and people envite you by writing to you! and we could have our own little doll in the great hall and we could make the dance and stuff! they would be like little robote and we could talk in litte bubbles!dont you think so!?[b]

I noticed a lot of events are centered around game shows so here is another idea, although I dont know if it is possible to create in a forum?

Golden Balls
One hundred ‘golden balls,’ concealing different cash amounts are up for grabs. Players must try to find and hang on to the balls containing life-changing amounts of money. But they also need to avoid the dreaded ‘killer balls’, which can turn pounds into pennies within seconds.
The four contestants must convince each other that they have the Golden Balls containing the highest amounts. They have to decide who is telling the truth and who has the lowest amount in front of them. They also need to eliminate the person who holds the most ‘killer balls’. One person will be voted off at the end of each round – but will they pick the right one?
In the final round the tension mounts as the two players who have convinced and conned their way to the final, face the final showdown. Will they work together and go home with a share of the winnings, or will they try and outwit each other, which could mean losing the lot.

So here I was, after being away
from chat as usual, I scrolled up and saw that people were on a cooking
show and thought: hey, what if we had a challenge like that?

Iron Chef Hogwarts

We'd need four different roles filled, in my plan.
(1) Announcer/Chairman, (2) Judge, (3) Head Chef, (4) Sous Chef

The
general idea is that folks would create their own independent teams, no
matter the House. You'd choose the 'best' roleplayer in your team to be
Head Chef and have two or three sous-chefs (I think four folks would be
per team total, but it's entirely up to you!), which is basically the
assistant. Once the food was "cooked", you'd have three judges "judge"
it both in the roleplaying sense and in the actual grade. The usual
roleplaying skill, teamwork, creativity would count, but also food
knowledge!

You'd also, of course, have to have the "secret ingredient" which adds to the fun.

Perhaps
part of the competition could also be finding a picture of your cooked
up food and posting that as well. Points could be based on that, too.

The thread would probably only be open for three days. Maybe to simulate 20 minutes a day, as the show is usually 60 minutes.

Mind you, you can change anything you want in my idea, Elfie. Just suggesting a bit more. (Plus, I'm horribly detail-oriented and cannot post a one-lined idea!)

how about clubs...like drama clubs, (the newspaper can be considered one) , chess club, science club..etc.

Several teams, competing for imunity, the lossing one'd have to go to tribal counsil and one person'd have to be voted off... you know the dirll xD

what about an HE Amazing Race. We we have to find clues which leads us to other clues then we have a last clue which leads us to the resting stop for that league. Then the last person/group to check in will be elminated.

I love the amazing race. Like love it. I know absolutley everything about it. For anyone who doesn't knoww: the main idea of it is that teams of two race around the world completing tasks and challenges along the way.

They start in a U.S. city and then end in a different U.S. city making stops in different countries along the way. At the end of each travel leg there is a "Pit Stop" where the first team to arrive gets a prize and the last gets eliminated or a penalty.

The tasks include:

Roadblocks where one team member does the task
Detours - a choice between two tasks
Route Information - general task than usually moves teams to a new location or has them find something
Fast Forward - the first team to complete it skips all task and goes to the pitstop which usually results in first place
Intersection - two teams work together to accomplosh task(s)

Thats all I can think of right now. I organized an Amazing Race party for my little sister and she said it was her best party ever. It was really fun.

Also i am so into having a Hells Kitchen Event. We could have male Vs. Female. And someone would have to be that famous Chef Ramse. The only thing is that person would have to be ok with yelling and cuseing since that is what his is famous for in the show. And being really funny when he yells and such.

battle of the sexes, maybe battle of the houses with same number of people in each house participating n various events

How about me have a CSI HE. We have someone get killed, a staff or member, and people must join and find out who did it. There will be clues and much more you have to crack and figure out to find who killed the person.

I'm gonna help Rai with the bugging, it was a good idea, I remember Shelly did it (featherwinggirl) and she just gushed about how much fun it was, and her gushing was what got me on the site. So good Idea rai!

I wasn't here for the murder mystery, but I wish I was. I hope we can do it again. It sounds like so much fun!!

I think we should have the Horcruxes Contest again. I quite liked it when we had it and it was cool because it also gave us a chance to see places on the site we've never really knew was there.

haha the language freak in me totally agrees with Stephy and her languages event idea! :D

I'm in for language-based tasks too. However I'd like to see something to do with English dialects - they're so funny to compare. =P And most everyone can get in on it easily, what with the internet, and globalisation. :D
