Level 1: Animagus Application

1. Why do you wish to become an animagus?

It is well known that Slytherins crave power and want to be noticed. Although I am not one of those craving power, it helps to set an example to fellow housemates and animagus training and eventually the qualification would be a great example to set.

To become an animagus, you must hold high power in magical ability and be able to focus your mind. Having this qualification might show my housemates that I am a good leader (and the housepoints is a plus!).

2. What do you think to gain from the training experience and the animagus qualification

As I mentioned above, I hope to gain a better concentration and focus my mind in greater ability than I do now. I will also gain the satisfaction that I hold another qualification and that I possess the magical power inside of me to be able to transform. It will hopefully also heighten my knowledge of the magical world and help me to help others within my house do the same.

3. What animal do you believe you would be and why (bear in mind - your choice of animal now is not necessarily what the outcome will be through the tests)

I believe that I would be closer to a white tiger than any other animal, yet I can quite believe that it may not be the outcome as not all of my personality match the attributes of that of a white tiger. Not only is the white tiger one of my favourite animals, yet it is also extremely independent, which I believe myself to be. The white tigers surroundings tend to be that of snow and cold, which is much better for me than heat. The tiger in general is also free to roam and not generally closed in (unless in captivity). Being closed in is something that I hate!

4. What would you use your animagus qualification for and why?

I would mainly use my qualification for personal relaxation. It would take the strain out of every day life. After a long day, I could transform and stretch my legs, run faster than I could in human form and hide away from the stresses of humans.

5. Are there any benifits of becoming an animagus in your chosen magical career? If so what are they and why?

Although I havent chosen a specific magical career, I can see that an animagus qualification could come in useful for some careers.

If I focus upon a potions professor position in Hogwarts, I can not see too many benifits of the qualification. It could be a scare technique to Gryffindors, especially if I do become a tiger! Obviously I could only do this once and due to the professor laws in school, though, I wouldn't obviously use this!!

6. Which existing animagus do you look up to and why?

Although it has not been said, and would probably be proven otherwise, I would like to think that the Severus Snape was an animagus, possibly a snake (something which I hate!). If he was an animagus, I would look up to him as Slytherin would not be the same without him (even if he is evil!). In a fanfiction I have been told about (though I cant say which one!), it showed Snape as a snake and using his 'snake talk' to converse with Harry (who uses parseltongue). I think this would be perfect and would certainly look up to him.

1. Why do you wish to become an animagus?

Of course I've given alot of thought to this, I want to be an animagus to be prepared for the final battle, not to mention the glory I could gain from becoming a skilled animagus. The appriciation of my fellow hufflepuffs, and the house points is a double plus.

2. What do you think to gain from the training experience and the animagus qualification

If I am not accpeted to be an animagus, I'm sure I will leave the training with the experiance and more affection towards animals(if that could be possible) with the sense that I tried, but if accepted I will not only have the feelings towards animals but the ability to become one.

3. What animal do you believe you would be and why (bear in mind - your choice of animal now is not necessarily what the outcome will be through the tests)

I would be a pure black wolf, they are loyal as am I, loving, and share the joys of family. They hunt together and survive together. They are all around loving animals that share compassion with everyone, and this is who I am, not only do the wolf and I share these traits, but I act like a wolf as well, I would protect my family over anything else.

4. What would you use your animagus qualification for and why?

To protect people, and hopefully my newly accuired skill would help in the final battle. And more personal things as well, to take stress out of life and run leaving your cares behind. To shead the skin of your everyday life and become someone, something new.

5. Are there any benifits of becoming an animagus in your chosen magical career? If so what are they and why?

Of course as I haven't choosen a carear, but it would be helpful to be a healer, I could sniff out the diseases that could be harmful and find a solution. And an auror to hide your true identity.

6. Which existing animagus do you look up to and why?

Right now I look up to only Sirius Black for even though not registered he used his animagus form to protect people and have fun all at the same time.

1. Why do you wish to become an animagus? I wish to become an animagus because it is a neat trick to use and show off with when times are tough or when my friends are reminding me of the “hippogriff incident” that haunts my childhood. I also wish to become an auror or wand-maker and what better way to spy on Death Eaters or pluck unicorn tails.

2. What do you think to gain from the training experience and the animagus qualification? I think I will gain I deeper and more elevated level of self-confidence and esteem. I am a klutz; I must admit that this will prove to me and others around me that I am more then just an ordinary witch.

3. What animal do you believe you would be and why (bear in mind - your choice of animal now is not necessarily what the outcome will be through the tests) I think the perfect animal for me would be a kangaroo, because they are 40% smarter then the average cat or dog, and I believe I am smarter then 45% of average witches my age. I also love to “bounce” around and I have much energy and patience.

4. What would you use your animagus qualification for and why? I hope to use it to become an auror or wand-maker so I can have a successful life and enjoy my job. I would also hope I could use it to help Harry in the defeat of good over evil.

5. Are there any benefits of becoming an animagus in your chosen magical career? If so what are they and why? As I have stated above, if I wish to become a wand-maker, I could use to chase animals whose hairs or spleens I will need to create the best wands on the planet.

6. Which existing animagus do you look up to and why? The existing animagus I look up to is Rita Skeeter. This is because she is not only cunning and nosy but very clever. She fooled many people into not noticing her, and I must admit, I have a taste for gossip as well. However, I will not abuse my powers.

1. Why do you wish to become an animagus?

I always want to proceed as far as I can in my magical learning, and having passed my apparition test last year, animagus training is the next logical step. I think it would be amazing to have the ability to be able to turn into an animal at will, and the possibilities it would bring are numerous.

Imagine, for example, a battle, where there seems to be no escape. You could transform into your animal form and escape. Or, if your animal was powerful enough, you could become a weapon against your assailants.

And then think about all the fun you could have sneaking around Hogwarts castle as an animal!

2. What do you think to gain from the training experience and the animagus qualification?

Hogwarts is about education and learning, but also about having fun, and I think the animagus training would combine the two of these successfully. The training will be the learning, educational side of things, and the qualification and ability to become an animal would provide the fun.

It must also take a great deal of concentration and composition to turn into an animal, and so this would be a good way to learn these skills.

3. What animal do you believe you would be and why (bear in mind - your choice of animal now is not necessarily what the outcome will be through the tests)

In all honesty, I could not say which animal I think I would be. Perhaps some sort of bird, a fierce, elegant bird of prey. I’ve always thought that having the ability to fly would be an amazing, liberating experience, and becoming a bird would enable me to live that dream. On the other hand, a sleek land animal such as a panther or a lynx would be great too.

4. What would you use your animagus qualification for and why?

To begin with, it would help further my career and look good on a CV. Any qualification is important, but to have one as esteemed as animagus would be a benefit in the future when looking for employment.

Anything else would depend on the final form of my animal. If I were to become a bird, it would help me practice my aerodynamic skills for when I play Quidditch. If I were a land animal, my agility skills would be tested.

I would also try and use my animal form to help people – a bird of prey has keen eyes, so perhaps to help people find things they have lost, children that have wandered away from their parents.

5. Are there any benefits of becoming an animagus in your chosen magical career? If so what are they and why?

An animagus form would come in very handy for my current magical position as Care of Magical Creatures Professor. I would be able to demonstrate my form to the class, and dependant on what it is, teach them about it.

Again, dependant on the form, there is also the possibility of being able to see students that are breaking rules without their knowledge.

6. Which existing animagus do you look up to and why?

I look up to Professor McGonagall, whose animagus form is a tabby cat. She doesn’t use her form for harmful or malicious causes, only when it is necessary and would be helpful to the Order.

1. Why do you wish to become an animagus?
Because I’ve always been fascinated by how animals live, they way of surviving, of feeding, of finding a partner, etc. They are so interesting because some are similar to us, yet so different. They have a completely different way of living and I wish I could experience that.


2. What do you think to gain from the training experience and the animagus qualification
A better way of understanding animals, for one thing. And also I have to admit that it’d be really fun to be able to turn into something and walk around with people having no idea that its me!


3. What animal do you believe you would be and why (bear in mind - your choice of animal now is not necessarily what the outcome will be through the tests)
Well… I think that I would be a dog. More likely something like a golden retriever, because it fits with my personality. I’m loyal, friendly, hyper, I love having fun, but I can also growl and show my teeth when I’m angry.


4. What would you use your animagus qualification for and why?
Mostly to somehow run away from responsibilities and stuff like that from time to time. It seems to me that turning into an animal would make everything more simple, more peaceful, at least for a while, and everybody needs that from time to time.


5. Are there any benifits of becoming an animagus in your chosen magical career? If so what are they and why?
Well… as I wish that I could become an Auror, I think that being able to turn into an animal would be quite practical, especially in the concealment and disguise, as I’d be able to turn into something else than myself, which is a good disguise, don’t you think? ;)


6. Which existing animagus do you look up to and why?
I have to say the Marauders. James Potter, Sirius Black and even Peter Pettigrew, because their changing and training was an act of pure friendship, they didn’t have to do it and to have that extra work, but they did it for their friend, and I think that was something really nice to do.

1. I wish to become an animagus because of the challenge it presents to me. I know that it is a long, hard and gruelling process with countless pitfalls and things that can go wrong, but I still want to become an Animagus. It is also a very useful skill to have whichever profession you go into, and also for survival. I may not find that I have the need to survive, but I still think that it would be a skill that could let me avoid starvation as a human, not to mention that animals have a survival instinct built in to them that would be useful anywhere in the world.

2. Depending on which animal I am, I would like to learn more about it and see how its body works compared to a human. I could use my knowledge of this animal for several other things such as Care of Magical Creatures homework; I could bring an end to the “Animal Testing” Argument by telling others what hurts me and what doesn’t, though this would be seriously risking my own personal health. The process of becoming an Animagus itself would be a challenge and an experience not to turn your nose up at. It would be valuable in my magical career to further my transfiguration knowledge.

3. I think I will become a lioness, but with a mane. This is based on several things: a) I am a Leo, so my personality is similar to that of a Leo, which has been confirmed by doing countless horoscope tests in as many magazines; b) I am a Gryffindor through and through, so my personality also is the same as what the Lion of Gryffindor would be; and c) I have an uncontrollable mane of hair which is amusingly similar to that of a lions. I also think being a phoenix would be good, for similar reasons...I could have a giant plume!

4. I would use my animagus qualification for several things, mainly for my own relaxation and, to some extent, amusement. I could use whatever it is to help me for my classes. It could give me a whole new perspective on life the universe and everything! Generally, I just want to take the challenge, become an animagus and enjoy my hard work.

5. My chosen career is a Healer, so it really isn’t very useful, unless my creature was a phoenix. If I were a phoenix, I could flash to emergencies, I could take patients to the right ward if they are comatose or cannot be moved for fear of extended injuries, I could use my healing tears and uplifting song to heal the patients. If I were an Auror (my second career choice) I could use the lioness as a predator, to sneak up on anyone, I could survive in the wild during stakeouts etc.

6. I look up to Sirius Black and James Potter because they only wanted to use their powers for good and, unlike Wormtail, they did not use their animagus form to hurt others. They also worked very hard to help their friend and I am glad that they were brave enough and clever enough to be able to pull it off during their school years.

1. Why do you wish to become an animagus?

I want to be an animagus because it is always handy to be able to change into an animal. Animals can get into places humans cannot, and most people are not as suspicious of animals loitering around. So being an animagus would be useful if I wanted to be a spy, or even if I just wanted to be able to explore certain areas undetected.

While in my animal form, I can gather information from other animals of my species, and thus find out things I would have had no way of knowing otherwise. Besides, I feel that in every person is an animal waiting to be expressed. When someone turns into their Animagus form, the animal inside them—the basis of all their wants, needs and characteristics—is able to live life fully and joyfully, without being fettered by complicated human emotions and thoughts. Although an Animagus has the ability to keep hold of their humanity—that is, after all, how they differ from regular animals—many animaguses prefer to loosen up a bit and just live in their basic animal form. It is a certain kind of freedom that humans rarely experience.

2. What do you think to gain from the training experience and the animagus qualification

Training is very important of course, since one wouldn’t want to be caught in the wild as half an animagus. That would render the person incredibly vulnerable, and besides it would be an embarrassing situation. There are many things that can go wrong while learning to be an animagus, the worst of them being horrible death, so it is necessary to undergo full training, preferably professional. So what I would gain from the training would be the ability to change into my animagus form with no trouble and no bad side effects.

The qualification is important because it certifies that the individual in question has really undergone training, understands fully the implications and responsibilities of being an animagus, and will not abuse the use of their animagus form. Though some people, whether it’s by choice or necessity, are unregistered and unqualified animaguses, this can have terrible results and extremely consequences. Either the person will horribly hurt themselves during the process, or if by some chance or stroke of genius an individual learns to be an unqualified Animagus, if the Ministry ever finds out this person would be severely punished.

3. What animal do you believe you would be and why (bear in mind - your choice of animal now is not necessarily what the outcome will be through the tests)

First of all, I am nocturnal by nature. I find it much easier to work and concentrate at night, and I have a difficult time getting up early in the morning. My creative side is also much more active during the evening or night. Therefore I believe I would be a nocturnal animal, and I will give 3 examples of nocturnal animals.

Coyote: These animals occasionally get together in small packs, but naturally hunt alone. They are nocturnal, and sometimes will hunt during the day, but prefer to hunt at night. They are highly adaptable and mate for life. In folklore and mythology, their traits include inventiveness, mischievousness, and evasiveness.

I am similar to the coyote in many ways. I am nocturnal, which I already stated. I usually prefer to work alone, but if I must I would rather work with one or two people than a large group. I am most comfortable around small groups of people. Little changes do not bother me very much, and I don’t find it very difficult to adjust to drastic changes, though of course initially they would bother me. When I eventually ‘mate,’ I hope it will be for life. I am inventive, like to play practical jokes, I am sometimes very sarcastic and I am very good at dodging questions I do not want to answer.

Raccoon: Naturally, they are nocturnal mammals. Their thumbs are highly flexible, enabling them to do many things other animals wouldn’t be able to do, such as open doors. They are quite intelligent, with a reputation for being clever and mischievous. They are also a bit short-sighted. They are omnivorous, very adaptable, and sometimes wash, or douse, their food before eating it, though scientists have not yet discovered exactly why they do so.

I have already explained how I relate to the nocturnal, adaptable, and mischievous characteristics. Moving on, I am usually good with my hands, and find it enjoyable, though not always easy, to do things that require complicated hand work—such as painting, drawing and assembling furniture or toys with many parts. I too am short-sighted, and my human form wears glasses or contact lenses at all times. I am omnivorous as well, and will eat nearly anything. I sometimes wash my hands for no reason at all, and have not yet discovered exactly why I do so.

Flying Squirrel: They are nocturnal as well, and ‘fly’ by jumping off the tops of trees, then extending flaps of skin from their arms and legs, thus enabling them to glide through the air. They travel through forests by gliding between trees. Interestingly enough, they have many predators, including the racoon and coyote.

So, I am nocturnal. I am also quite lazy, and would prefer to glide through a forest rather than run. Interestingly enough, I am often confused about my personality. Quite often I feel as if parts of my personality are trying to devour each other. That would explain why I am similar to the coyote and racoon who prey on flying squirrels.

4. What would you use your animagus qualification for and why?

I love nature, and am usually very in tune with my surroundings. I would love to be an animagus just because when I am in my animal form I would be enjoying and benefiting from nature to the best of my capabilities. I could also use my animagus form to spy on other people and play practical jokes on them, so that we could laugh about it afterwards. Perhaps I would occasionally use it for travelling, because certain animals travel faster, can reach through more difficult places, or have more endurance than humans.



5. Are there any benifits of becoming an animagus in your chosen magical career? If so what are they and why?

I would like to be an apothecary. As an animagus, I can locate ingredients that may be difficult to find while in my human form. I could also ask the animals for their knowledge of certain plants and herbs. Many intelligent animals know a lot more than wizards give them credit for, and if we would bother to ask, we could probably find out many interesting and useful bits of information.

6. Which existing animagus do you look up to and why?

I look up to Sirius Black, because he used his animagus form to communicate with other animals, like I wish to do. He did this only to help others, as is evident by his helping remus when he needed to transform. He also communicated with Crookshanks in Harry’s third year, when he knew that Harry was in danger.

1. Why do you wish to become an animagus?
I believe becoming an animagus would be a wonderful way to escape the chaos and dangers of ordinary wizarding life. It would also be a handy skill to use to go undercover to assist others in obtaining information without anyone knowing what or who I really was. Not only would it be quite an honer, to be selected for this elite training, but it would prove my skill as a great witch to be able to accomplish the task.

2. What do you think to gain from the training experience and the animagus qualification
I would gain the skills it takes to become one. Working hard to accomplish my ultimate goal will teach me other things along the way. I am a sponge for leaning. The more I learn about different things, the better I become. I tend to take things in and would use those things taken in, in my regular wizarding life. I am a hard worker and seeing myself become succesful would be a great thing indeed.
3. What animal do you believe you would be and why
I would love to become a wolf. They are steathy and beautiful creatures, able to sneak up on their prey quite easily wihout being noticed until it is too late. They are quite strong and exceptional hunters.

I am a huge dog lover, as a few people know here. My dog is like my child. Being a wolf would almost represent him in a way. My love for the canine species is something that is a part of me. The wolf, would be a great representation of that.

4. What would you use your animagus qualification for and why?
I would use my animagus qualifications to help the wizarding world obtain necessary information needed in the final war against good and evil. Going undercover as an animagus is a great cover as not everyone would know your form. You could sneak up on conversations, listening to crucial information to pass along to the members of your cause. It would also be a great way to escape immediate danger. Lets say a dragon approaches you. You, as a wizard can try to do what you can to cast spells to escape it's wrath. Dragons are hard to beat, as we all know. You could use your animagi as a method to distract the dragon and hopefully allow you to get away from the situation.

5. Are there any benifits of becoming an animagus in your chosen magical career? If so what are they and why?
In my career as a witch, I hope to become a member of the department of magical law inforcement. I believe having an animagus form could help me in this career. Like mentioned above, it would be a great undercover tool to be able to obtain needed information to help in learning things that could ultimatly lead to saving the wizarding world. Not only from Voldemort and the Death Eaters, but to your everyday law breakers as well.

6. Which existing animagus do you look up to and why?
The wizard, who is an animagus that I look up to the most is definetly James Potter. His stag animagus, as far as we know, was used for nothing but good. He became an animagus it appears to help and disguise the fact that Remus Lupin was a werewolf. Transforming himself to blen into the natural enviorment as to not draw any attention when bringing Remus to the Shrieking Shack to wait out with him the terrible effects of the full moon on his good friend. I am sure this was a hard thing for the Marauders to have to deal with each month, but it shows the true loyalties they had for their friend. I love all the Marauders equally, with the exception of Peter Pettigrew of coarse. I just have a great respect for James where he helped to bring such a wonderful son into the world.
I think it proves my point, where Harry's patronus is that of a stag, his Father's animagus. He is there to protect his son even though he has crossed over into the realms of the wizarding world after life.

1. Why do you wish to become an animagus?

Having thought long and hard, I wish to become an animagus because I believe to be able to handle such a big responsibility. Becoming an animagus will allow me to guide those Hufflepuff’s who have lost their way, to show them all that it can be done.

On a more honest note, I just want to be an animagus so I can annoy people even more

2. What do you think to gain from the training experience and the animagus qualification.

As I have already stated I wish to set a good example for the lobely Hufflepuff’s. On a personal note I hope to achieve a sense of achievement, becoming an animagus would enable me to feel proud. I will work hard and even if I do not succeed, I shall not quit, this badger doesn’t go down without a fight and this is one fight I plan on winning!



3. What animal do you believe you would be and why (bear in mind - your choice of animal now is not necessarily what the outcome will be through the tests)

I believe I would be a wear. Since my name stands for brave little bear and through my life I have proved to live up to such a name, a bear would be fitting for me. Not only is it strong, unafraid, proud and um shiny, it is also powerful in body and soul and allows no-one to bring it down… unless a muggle shoots at it and then it runs, but so would you!!!


4. What would you use your animagus qualification for and why?

I would use my qualification to motivate my fellow house members, to show them that if I can do it, so can they. I will protect all newbie’s to my house and even those who aren’t. I shall be strong and wise and not allow this qualification to go to my head … For now anyway.

5. Are there any benefits of becoming an animagus in your chosen magical career? If so what are they and why?

At present I have no chosen magical career and spend a lot of my time in the Hufflepuff house and Divination tower, therefore becoming an animagus would help me protect my house mates and friends since I am a seer, I can for see such danger as that giant purple hippo falling from the Astrometry Tower.


6. Which existing animagus do you look up to and why?

I personally look up the illegal animagus Sirius Black. Although he was an escaped criminal who we all know was really innocent, he risked his life to take on his friend and werewolf, Remus Lupin in order to save Harry, Hermione, Ron and Snapeypoo (although neither man would actually admit this) this makes me understand that whilst being an animagus I would be able to use my new form to assist my house and school in someway shape or form. Sirius Black was a perfect example of a fearless, selfless man who even died in order to save someone, bit like Dumbledore really.

1. Why do you wish to become an animagus?

I've been learning about all forms of magic and have a strong desire to shapeshift. I feel it will benefit me later on as my human/wizard form is strong but frail against large monsters and strong enemies. Having the strength of an animagus would be ideal. I crave knowledge in the wizard's world and anything I can master, I look forward to learning. I have observed animagi, and can confidently say that I feel I am ready to take on such responsibility. With my help, I could aid Slytherins and motivate them to do the best they can so they too can achieve great power and skills.

2. What do you think to gain from the training experience and the animagus qualification
I think that I will gain valuable skills, useful knowledge, strength in myself as well as my power. I will learn and excel in defending myself as well as fighting for those I side with. Slytherins could depend on me to be there in not only my wizard form but my animagus one as well. Under any circumstances, I could defend and help them. If they succeed, then so do I is the way I see it.

3. What animal do you believe you would be and why (bear in mind - your choice of animal now is not necessarily what the outcome will be through the tests)
I consider myself closely associated with dragons. They are fierce, powerful beasts that have strength and abilities that I could really use and would be useful to have. There are few beings or creatures that can stand up to a dragon's power and with dragons being reptiles and close to the snake family, I feel that having a dragon animagus would be suitable. They also are very protective as am I of my friends and would keep them safe from harm. I associate them with not only power, but courage. It takes courage to really be able to stand up against any obsticle and so with the strength of a dragon animagus, I could do more for my friends and Slytherin than ever before.

4. What would you use your animagus qualification for and why?
New people and old would be able to rest easy cuz I'd be there to protect and defend them. I'd show them how to get to my status, encourage them to do their best, show them that I can be counted on. I'd also use it to discover my inner strength, the strength that needs help and aid that would make me a better wizard and a protector.
5. Are there any benifits of becoming an animagus in your chosen magical career? If so what are they and why?

Yes, no matter what career I choose, there will always be a need for that extra power, strength and knowledge that will come in handy. Disciplining myself to a degree, any path I choose whether it be good or bad; my animagus ability would guide me, strengthen me and teach me a lot of things that I wish to learn.

6. Which existing animagus do you look up to and why? It's really hard to choose cuz there are many different animagi that have been beneficial. Sirius's animagus is one I admire the most. I think that it suited him for what he stood for and the strength and ferocity was amazing.I'd have to say that he's the one I look up to.

1. Why do you wish to become an animagus?

Animal tranformation, or animagus training as it is so called, has always been something which I have aspired to. My brother and father are animagus, and although other men in my family have reached this goal, so far no women have, so I would like to show that this is not the way it has to stay in my family. Also, this shows a high power in which would be great to posses. It will show other houses that Ravenclaw are not only smart but powerful too.

2. What do you think to gain from the training experience and the animagus qualification

I would gain self-appreciation as well as pride and honour. I would also feel that women in my family are something more than what the men believe and gain the experience which would help my learning in other aspects and areas of my life.

3. What animal do you believe you would be and why (bear in mind - your choice of animal now is not necessarily what the outcome will be through the tests)

I don't have a specific animal in mind though I believe that I would aspire to some sort of bird or another animal in which can escape the world and fly away where no one can reach them. I have had a peek at the other tests, though, and it may not be that the outcome would give me that of a bird. I dont think my inner personality matches it enough for it to run in my veins.

4. What would you use your animagus qualification for and why?

Of course, this is fully dependent upon what animal I become, yet I would use this qualification to teach others how to become fully qualified animagus as I feel that there are not enough magical teachers in other schools to present this type of level and ability to students. I would also use it as a form of escape, when I wish to be alone and think. Obviously, I'll be registered, but I won't take on too many distinguishing features hopefully, so that it would enable me to blend into the background and give me some space.

5. Are there any benifits of becoming an animagus in your chosen magical career? If so what are they and why?

Sirius Black in an insperation to me. Although he was unregistered, which is illegal and certainly not what I would do, he used his animagus form to the best of his ability and helped his friends through his determination and hard work.

I wish to become an animagus for a few reasons. Firstly, because it’d be a great way to get away from everything. Just for a while and put everything on hold for a bit. Which lately seems like the best thing to do. Also, it takes a lot of hard work to become an animagus and I need some of it in my life. Lets face it I’m a slacker and by doing this it’ll help prove I can do hard work, too. Finally, its also something that could come in handy. As stated above to get some hard work in. It’ll help so that I’m just not lazing around doing nothing as usual. Also, it’ll give me self appreciation that I worked hard to get something for once. Plus, on top of all that I hope to prove to myself and others that I can work hard and apply myself.

Only one animal comes to mind when I think about it. That animal would have to be a frog. Because although they often hop around, they also sorta just are there and annoy other people with their calls. Just like me, because although I’m often hyper and jumping about I also have these mellow times where I just sorta sit there and act in a mellow fashion. Finally, I do have a tendency to just talk and talk and talk some more, which annoys other people quite a bit.

Like I said before it’d be the perfect way to relax and just get away from my problems for a bit. So I would definitely use it in that way. I’d also use it to help friends, though. And most definitely I’d be using it to explore and see things in a new and different way.

As my carrier that I have chosen is a professor, though I’m not sure which subject I’d wish to teach, I’d have to say there could be advantages. Take for instance if I do decide to pursue Transfiguration it could most definitely come in handy. However, if I went with say Arithmancy it wouldn’t be much use. Unless of coarse I wanted to scare my students or something… in which case it could be fun.

But i could as well be a horse, a dolphin, a monkey, a parrot, a whale, a penguin... ^^

I would try to help people and I believe that being an animagus would give me extra points if I was searching for a job. The ability to become an animal could be used in many ways, such as just getting away from the humans world or just enjoy seeing the world from a different perspective.

I look up to the marauders James Potter and Sirius Black because they became animagus so that they could help their friend, Remus Lupin. So that they could spend more time with him, and so that he wouldn't attack them when at his werewolf form. I think that was a very cool thing to do.

I believe, especially in these dark times, that the more knowledge and ability that you have on your side the better you are equipped to defend yourself and others. I realize that it will be difficult, but I look forward to the challenge. When you push yourself to the highest limits you end up learning a great deal about yourself. If I should fail, which I am determined won't happen, I will simply pick myself up and try again. Too often the only things standing in the way of achievement are the limitations we mentally place on ourselves.

The ulitimate fantasy animal would be, for me, the pegasus. The image of a proud winged horse has long since been my dream. But if I think rationally and practically I would have to choose a more common animal like a cat or dog. One of the benefits of being and animagus is the ability to blend and hide. The advantage of a pegasus would of course be the ability to fly, and as they are extremely rare it would also hold the element of surprise. I admit that I am torn at the moment, and hope that animagus training will help me determine the correct animal form I should take.

At the moment, as stated, it will help me in my classes and activities here at Hogwarts. Now that we are at war it is more important than ever to learn the magic needed to defend against the enemy. I have always looked up to Professor, and now Headmistress, Minerva McGonagall. I could barely believe my eyes when I first saw her transform, in less than a blink of an eyes time, into a tabby cat. I was still new to the magical world and had not dreamt that such a thing was possible. My respect for her professionalism and talent is immense. She is exactly the kind of witch that I strive to be. Not only is she an active member of the Order of Phoenix and the now the Headmistress of Hogwarts, but she has long since been Transfiguration Professor. She is responsible for igniting my interest in animagus, and I have learned much from her classes. McGonagall stands for excellance in magic, and I believe that she is a role model to all young witches and wizards. She does not boast of her skills, does not flaunt them, instead she merely instructs, and when necessary uses her abilities to fight. Becoming an animagus for me is not some attempt at getting attention or seeking fame, I want to use it for practical purposes, and Professor McGonagall is my most practical role model.

There are many reasons why I would like to become an animagus the first is a future aspect. As you may or may not know I aspire to become an auror or work in the department for regulation and control of magical creatures. Becoming an animagus would help in each of them for example in the auror department there is a section you have to complete about disguise becoming an animagus would help me disguise myself very easily and help with fighting dark witches and wizards. For the department for regulation and control of magical creatures becoming an animagus would help me to experience there feelings and maybe get a fill view of an animal if it is the same animal as my animagus form. Also they seem like the kind of creature that would be surrounded by misery, AKA how the only people who see them have seen someone die.

Being an animagus would come in handle for battles and dueling. With being one, I could also help my side with my skills. With being an animagus, I can help others, depending on what my animal’s form is. If a dog, I could help carry stuff in my mouth, and a bird…well I don’t know what it could do, besides help those who plant stuff and keep other birds away. I think by this, I could learn more about myself depending on the animal I am. Every animal is different and becoming one will help me learn what each animal is about and how I should act.

3. What animal do you believe you would be and why (bear in mind - your choice of animal now is not necessarily what the outcome will be through the tests)


I think I would be a dog just because I like to run and have fun. Dogs are very loyal and can hear more then what most can. And when someone is hurt, like a dog, I can bark and get help.

4. What would you use your animagus qualification for and why?


I would use them for battling. If I’m stuck or lose my wand, turning into my animagus form will help me retrieve my wand or escape. I would also use them for helping those in need.

5. Are there any benifits of becoming an animagus in your chosen magical career? If so what are they and why?

Being a shop keeper doesn’t really help me, but if I see something not right, then turning into my animal form will help me and I can get help fast or alert people about it.


6. Which existing animagus do you look up to and why?

Sirius Black- I look up to him because he is carefree and uses his skills for his and friend’s help. He was really brave for turning into his animal form to keep Remus from hurting Harry, Hermione, and Ron instead of running off. His bravery, friendship, and loyalty is easy to spot and is why I look up to him

1. Why do you wish to become an animagus?

I wish to become an animagus because I believe that though the course of time, the ability will serve me well. I believe that this will help me develope skills in advanced transfiguration levels and will indeed be good for when I go out to get a job in the wizarding community (something extra to put on my CV) It would show that I took my eduction as a young witch very seriously, and that I was brave enough to persue a dangerous series of test to show that I have the ability to become a fully qualified animagus.

2. What do you think to gain from the training experience and the animagus qualification?

I think I will gain even higher skills in transfiguration, as well as an ability to tranform into a humanly intelligant animal. It will be a high honour the day I get my certificate when I indeed fully qualify. I will show that I have intelligants as well as bravery....that I am unafraid to show my creative side. I will honour the house of Gryffindor as one of the few who succeeded in working hard for points.

3. What animal do you believe you would be and why (bear in mind - your choice of animal now is not necessarily what the outcome will be through the tests)

I think, as an animagus, my animal form would indeed be a baby giraffe. My reason for this is that a baby giraffe, while elegant, is still quite a clumsy little creature. I am indeed quite clumsy as well (tripping over nothing etc) Also, I have a very long tongue, like a giraffe. Like a baby giraffe, I want to be tall, like the adults around me. Also, I am an unusual person, and this is an unusual animal...so there you go.

4. What would you use your animagus qualification for and why?

I would use my qualifications not to show off, but to do what is right. I would only use my abilities when called for (eg someone's broo, is stuck in a tree and they need me to get it down) and also to differ myself from the rest of society.

5. Are there any benifits of becoming an animagus in your chosen magical career? If so what are they and why?

Yes there are! I would, as an Auror, be able to turn myself into my animal to make the bad ones think I was just a harmless giraffe, then when they least expect it...I would pounce, grabbing my wand and bringing them in justice quickly and easily. In other words, to make my job easier and to help others track down and stop evil dark wizards before it is too late.

6. Which existing animagus do you look up to and why?

I look quite a few animagi that exist today.
The first two are Sirius Black and James Potter, because they did a noble, brave thing in helping there friend when they became Animagi. Even though they never registered, they are still real heros in my own eyes.
Minerva McGonagall is the other one whom I look up to. She uses her abilities to teach, and not for selfish and trivial ends. She watches over her class as a cat so they feel watched, but pretected in her class.

1. Why do you wish to become an animagus?

I wish to become an animagus because it will open up another side to the magic I am already learning at Hogwarts, but also see how I relate to my friends, how close we are really. I am also not greta at transfiguration and to be able to switch, when I am not able to with a wand would be an amazing feel for me.
2. What do you think to gain from the training experience and the animagus qualification

I think I will gain a large amount of respect for myself, and those others who have the skill, but I have a strange likeness with some animals, so it would be wierd to see how I could interact with other animals while in my form.

3. What animal do you believe you would be and why (bear in mind - your choice of animal now is not necessarily what the outcome will be through the tests)

I wouldn't really mind what animal I changed into, but I would prefer a smaller animal, as I am often teased for my height, but also an animal that is almost as comfortable in water as land, so otters, and tigers come to mind, but I would prefer the otter, as they are carefree and embrace life above and in the water equally.

4. What would you use your animagus qualification for and why?

As a release from the busy life I face, just to roll carefree in the water, and frolic with others on land, but also to feel that I belong in nature rather than my hectic human life. I would also try to tie my job with the animal I transfrom into. I want to be a vet any way, but I have no focus, as yet, on what type of animals to attend to, so my career could be moulded before I start to train.

5. Are there any benifits of becoming an animagus in your chosen magical career? If so what are they and why?

I am not really considering another post but vet at the moment, but I suppose I could become a Care of Magical Creatures proffessor, and do my job, abd allow a unmagic side of the subject to come into veiw.

6. Which existing animagus do you look up to and why?

Even though we don't hear much about him, I see James Potter as a great role-model, as he and his friends changed so much to help out their were-wolf. All gave their all, but James, as the leader, probably gave Sirius and Peter the idea. He is willing to put himself in danger for his friend. A great man, and probably a great father if he got a few more years with his son.

1. Why do you wish to become an animagus? I want to become an Animagus because, first of all, I love animals. I think it would be a great way to see into anothers eyes in a way, to possibly have more sympathy for the kind of animal I want to transform into. I also think that it would be a positive in some jobs, for example, if I were to become an Auror, being able to change into an animal could be useful to eavesdrop undetected. And, lastly, I just think it would be plain awesome to be able to transform into an animal (whenever I want almost).

2. What do you think to gain from the training experience and the animagus qualification I think that to pass the training, it would boost my self esteem, because I would feel accomplished with myself for passing such a test. I think that I could also gain a few advantages working for the Order, or with the Auror industry.

3. What animal do you believe you would be and why (bear in mind - your choice of animal now is not necessarily what the outcome will be through the tests)
I am not quite sure what sort of animal I would be. I think I would be something intellegent and powerful, because both are in my personality. I also think that something energetic and active could be representation as me. ANd something magestic in a way...all of these, in my opinion, could describe a lion. But, I am not sure if I would want to be that. I would have a lot of strengths, but a lion is scary...
4. What would you use your animagus qualification for and why? I would use my animagus qualification for work as an Auror, of course. But aside from work, I would probably use it to get away from the "real world'' for a while, to have fun and be a carefree animal. I think that I could find many more things to do with being a fully qualified Animagus.
5. Are there any benifits of becoming an animagus in your chosen magical career? If so what are they and why? Yes. Like I have already stated being an Animagus is a huge benefit for the Auror. If sent on a mission to spy on Death Eaters, I could easily change into my animal form to eavesdrop. I think that it would get me hired quickly for certain jobs,when on my application it was known that I could be an animal also.

6. Which existing animagus do you look up to and why? I look up to the Animagus of Minerva McGonagall. I think she chose her Animal carefully,a nd thought about it long and hard. I think she uses her animal for responsibly, and does take advantage of it, but only for Order instances, mainly. ANd for her own personal safety, sometimes. I think she is a good role model for all Animagi everywhere because of her common sense and knowledge.
