The Georgia Nicolson Books

I can't believe we don't have a topic for these yet! I've searched and can't find one, so here I am, starting one up.

I LOVE (or should I say LOBE :D) these books! They are so unbelievably random and funny! Georgia is just...well...weird doesn't cover it.

They're written in diary form, and well you'll get an idea of how funny they are by the titles:

It's OK, I'm Wearing Really Big Knickers
Knocked Out By My Nunga-Nunga's
Dancing in My Nuddy-Pants
...And That's When It Fell Off in My Hand
...And Then He Ate My Boy Entrancers

I really hope Louise Rennison writes more of these fab and marvy books, she's a genius Very funny lady in real life as well - I went to a talk she gave at a Book Fair thing when I was 14 - which is why I have my copy of the first book signed.

Anyone who hasn't read these, I urge you to!

I dunno, I wasn't sure about these books, because it seemed to me the titles were trying to hard to look noticeable. But if you say they're good maybe I'll try one XD

I had a serious lurker breakout and was confined to my bedroom for fear of scaring off small children and potential Sex Gods. Meanwhile the “grown-ups” made a hideous racket screaming Abba’s greatest hits at the top of their voices. And I was the only one with enough maturiosity to tell them to turn it down by the time it got to three a.m. I still can’t get the images of my Vati prancing around in Mutti’s new knitted lime green nighty out of my mind. Erlack!

ohh lol that is cute...okay, I'll try one, and come back here and post when I'm done. Is there a certain order in which I need to read the books? Or can I just pick any?

Read them in the order that I put in my first post. They won't make much sense otherwise :D

I think in America the titles are slightly different though...you've got:

I think they changed the title of the second one because they though Americans might not know what knickers are, and the fifth one because they thought that "and that's when it fell off in my hand" sounded too rude.

AHHH! There's a new one coming out in July! I just saw it for pre-order on amazon!! "Love is a Many Trousered Thing." Can't wait!

EDIT: Woohoo I read the first one! And it WAS really cute and quite funny, but rather shorter than I expected... so I'm gonna put a hold on the second one XD.

You see, i lobe these books Me and Libby are twin souls, and Angus, wow if Dipstick was anything like Angus i'd be in heaven, yes i lobe these books far beyond my contorl, and they're not just books for girls.

John read them after hearing me nearly drowned in teh bath *never attempt to wash your hair and read at the same tie, its dangeroius when its a Georgia book* Anyways, he read them and now we FIGHT proper wrestle over the new books when they released, its so funny because i always win!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bring on July! That month just keeps getting better and better, ootP fil, Deathly Hallows release, Love is a Many Trousered Thing oh and a holiday, yes SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I lobe lobe lobe these books they make me laugh soo muchh one of my best matyys made me lobe these books they are amazing i cant remember which book it was but the one where she is like oo we had to change stuff for our american friends because when i wrote *cant remeber the girls name* lit up a fag they thugth i ment a gay person omg that made me laugh sooooooooooo much hahaha

The new book is out! My copy hasn't been delivered yet, but it was posted yesterday so hopefully it'll come soon. I'll be back with a verdict when I've read it!

Oh yay yay! Just read 'Love is a Many-Trousered Thing' and it was great fun, as usual. I sometimes marvel how she can string along a seemingly endless bit of nonsense and it shapes up to be a great story. XD

Ah, the ending...when will Georgia finally just see that Dave is the right one for her? *sigh*

I espicially like to read them when I'm sick cause cause they make me laugh. Hahaha. I'd forgotten about these -has the urge to read them again-
