Nancy walked into the arena where the duel would take place between her and her best friend Lily. She could not believe that she had to battle her in the very first round of the tournament. She took a deep breath and scanned the room with her green eyes. She smiled to herself, she was the first one there and would at least be able to throw a protection on herself and attempt to set up a plan before her opponent arrived.

Nancy quickly walked towards the center of the room, her eyes focused on The door so she knew exactly when Lily entered the room. She slowly slid her wand out of the pocket of her Slytherin robes and pointed it at her self and muttered, "retexo defigo aegis." (reverse spell protection) This protection would reverse any curses thrown at her and send them back to her opponent. Then, with her wand still pointed at herself she whispered, "occaeco bractea arma aegis." (Invisible metal armor protection) This protection would shield her body from heavy objects, or anything attempting to land on her or penetrate her skin. She smiled at herself quite pleased with this and then thought of a plan.

She paced the room a few times, studying every inch of it, seeing what she could use to her advantage. She noticed that underneath each window in the room, the stone walls were hollowed out a bit, it would be a great place to stand and wait for her opponent. She placed her back against the cold stone wall. She was visable, but Lily wouldn't notice her immediately upon entering. She pointed her wand towards the door and waited quietly, her heart pounding with adreneline, for Lily to arrive.

Lily knew that she was entering the first round of dueling late but after the last dueling tournament she had been wiped out. And then life got hectic and she was sick and finally she was well enough and sane enough to post! A mere miracle in her mind, of course she wasn't completely sane, still insane as ever. After all you needed to be a little insane to be able to actually do these sorts of things. Her mind filled with new spells and methods of attack and defense she was ready to take on the world! Take that! So maybe she was losing it and maybe half the people reading this didn't understand a word she was talking about or what she meant. But she didn't care she was here to duel and that was it and this duel was against she friend and rival Nancy! Oh what a first battle this would be and she was oh so ready!

Reaching for the door knob, she would turn it slowly, opening it just a crack. A head of chocolate hair would seemingly pop through it taking a glance inside the room to make sure no trap was waiting for her. Chocolate brown eyes would cautiously look into the dimly lit dueling room. "Hmmm..." She saw nothing out of the ordinary but she had to make sure. Like a thief in the night she would slip past the door, closing it without a sound. Her back pressed flat against the wall, falling into the shadows. Her dark dueling robes with Ravenclaw theme blanketed her. She glanced around and still couldn't make out where Nancy was....oh me is my where ever could she be?!?

Reaching into her pocket she pulled out her wand. It would be the best time to set a few defensive spells, and then she would seek out Nancy. With a elaborate wave of her wand she whispered into the dimming torchlight. 'Tendo Voluntas!' [Heighten Senses] Smell, Touch, Sight, Hearing and even Taste (although she didn't know how a heightened sense of taste would help her in this duel perhaps it would find it's use!) were all heightened. She could see clearer, even in the dark. She could hear better, taste better, smell better and even touch better. Lily just really how bad that sounded and so she knows you got the point. She would also like to ask forgiveness from the Elffie-goddess for her insane posts. It's what happens from being sick hehe.

Now it was time to put up her infamous shield charm: 'Validus Contego' [Strong Shield] Her invisible shield would rise all about her, very strong. It would be able to withstand much damage. Now that her defense was taken care of it was time to find her opponent. "Come out come out where ever you are Nancy!" She would remain in the shadows and instead of waiting for Nancy to show herself she would find her herself. Another wave of her wand and she would use a spell that came in quite handy during the last tournament: 'Estus Voluntas' [Heat Sense] Her wand pointed at her eyes when the spell was cast she would be able to look around and when her eyes would detect body temperature the figure would have a red aura about them.

Glancing around the room she couldn't see her on the ground floor so she would look up to the windows and vua-la! There was Nancy! She also missed her hiding in the shadows of the window. Smirking to herself she knew Nancy wouldn't be without defense spells herself and she would need to identify which ones were used. And so she would cast her next spell: 'Alica Typus!' [Spell Type] With this spell she would be able to identify exactly which spells had been used. Each type would have it's own color and from the looks of it any spell she sent would reflect back to her and she seemed to have another protection of some sort, one she hadn't seen before. A tough spell to get around.

Glancing at the window she noticed the stone ledge that Nancy was standing on. She couldn't hit Nancy with a spell so maybe.. 'Vegrandis flatus!' [Small Blast] Aiming her wand carefully she sent the small blast towards the ledge she was standing on which would blow to tiny pieces. "Bulls eye!" Lily would perform a little jig and a dance before hopping into the light of the center of the dueling floor. Waving happily to Nancy, she hoped she didn't hurt her bum too hard on the fall. "Hiya Nancy! Welcome to my party!"

It was time to go offensive and with a plan in mind she twirled around with her wand frailing about until she pointed it directly at Nancy shouting: 'Sepulchrum domesticus!' [Gravity Dome!] A black dome would form about Nancy's figure. Anyone trapped inside would be at the mercy of no gravity. Seemingly floating about. With another wave she would add to the dome: 'Haud Sanus!' [No Sound!] And with that no sound or words could be made within the dome. Lily would then proceed to sit indian style on the ground. A major entrance on her part - she loved dueling!
