St. Patrick's Day Parade

Welcome to the Hogwart's St. Paddy's Day Parade! Don your green hats and pull out your shamrocks to parade through the Hogwarts Grounds for this RP.

"Top o'the mornin' to ye!" Seamus ran into the Great Hall, clad from head to toe in green and looking very much like a leprachaun. A top his head he wore a traditional green hat, and a full suit in varying shades of green. This was definetly HIS holiday. Just for the occasion he had dyed his hair a flaming red, only further exentuating his green eyes. He made his way down the tables, past his brother at the Gryffindor table, sprinking shamrocks ontop of his head.

"Are we still up for the "plan" later, Drakie boy?" He winked, turning to walk backwards as he made his way for his own table, tossing shamrocks and four leaf clovers around as he went.

Rhia laughed as Seamus threw some four leaf clovers at her. TAlk about having Irish pride! Rhia plucked some stray shamrocks out of her breakfast and smiled again as she said, "No classes today! HAppy St. Patrick's Day everyone!"

Sky Black sat at the Slytherin tables in the great hall and watched as Drake and Seamus were...well...acting like Drake and Seamus! "You guys showing your true Irish pride I see." She said with a smile on her face. She reached in front of her on the table and grabbed a green hat sitting there and placed it on her head. It matched her eyes perfectly. She looked around the room and decided it needed a little something festive.

She reached into her robes and pulled out her wand and pointed it towards the center of the room. "Leprachanius apperio!" She shouted and a leprachaun appered in the center of the room, looking quite dazed and confused. "Jiggerous!" She said with a hint of laughter in her voice and watched as her spell had made the leprachaun start dancing a jig. "Now that's entertainment." She said while she leaned back in her chair. She grabbed a bottle of butterbeer from the table that had been changed to the color green and sipped it while she watched the little leprachaun dance.

Rhia turned towards Sky and applauded her. "That's really good charms work," she said.

Sky continued watching the leprachaun dance. He was really quite good. She turned towards Rhia as she spoke to her. "Thanks Rhia, I thought we could use a bit of entertainment." She laughed and smiled at her. "Happy St. Patricks day."

Sky knew Rhia was with the DA. She had never had a problem with the girl and she obviously didn't know Sky was a Death Eater so she figured it was safe enough to talk to her. Maybe even get on her good side. Sky was, after all on that same side not too long ago. Befriending members of the opposite side could prove to be a very smart move.

"So Rhia, are you aware of any of the festivities they have planned for us today?" She smiled in her trademark, almost evil grin. "Or we could always make our own festivities."

Rhia raised her eyebrows. "Pranks are good for the soul!" she said. "I think the professors have planned a St. Patrick's Day parade inside the school, and I think there are some house parties... I'm not sure, though."

Maeve walked into the Great Hall. She wore a green tee that said 'Kiss Me I'm Irish' on it and black pants with a belt with a green jewled shamrock as a buckle. She also had green glitter around her eyes, a green shamrock sticker under her eye, and a shamrock hair clip. Maeve saw pictures of herself from her past wear she was decked out in St. Patrick's day gear, so she figured even though her memory disapeared she would try to keep up with old tradition. Maeve lingered over to the Slytherin table and sat beside Sky.

Lily walked in cheerfully. She smilied brightly at rhia as she came up nexxt to her.

"hiya!" she said.

"Hey Lily!" Rhia said and hugged her friend. "Happy St. Patty's Day!"

"Same to you!" Lily said a bright grin upon her face

"SO what are you up to?" she questioned

Maeve saw Lily enter and sit next to Rhai and start chatting. She recognized Lily from the spring dance. Maeve decided since she was the only one she knew she might as well say greet her. She walked over to the Gryffindor table.

Maeve smiled and said, "Hello Lily." she then looked to Rhia and spoke, "Hello I am Maeve."

Rhia shrugged. "Not much... I'm just gonna relax and party today. What about you?" Seeing Maeve, Rhia said, "Hey Maeve. I'm Rhia Ai."

Maeve smiled, "Nice to meet you Rhai. Mind if I sit with the two of you? I don't really know anyone, well, remember anyone anyway."

Slightly puzzled by Maeve's choice of words, Rhia replied, "Sure."

Maeve smiled and sat down at the table with Lily and Rhia.

"So how is both of your guy's St.Patrick's day going?" Maeve asked sweetly

"Mine's going great," said Rhia as she sipped her green pumpkin juice. "What about yours, Maeve?"

Maeve shrugged, "It's going alright I guess. It's kinda boring though seeing as I don't have really anyone to talk to."

"Well now you know us!" Rhia said smiling, as she pointed to herself and Becca.

Maeve smiled, "Yeah at least now I know you guys. So what kind of festivities are planned for this grand parade?"

"Some house parties, a parade of course, and I think there's gonna be a carnival, too... but I'm not sure..." Rhia replied.

"Sounds fun," Maeve spoke, "When do you think they are going to start?"

Rhia shrugged. "Dunno, maybe after breakfast," she replied as she bit into a heavenly cherry danish.

"Then breakfast needs to get over soon,"Maeve chuckled,"I wanna see a parade. It will be my first parade I have seen since my release."

"Release?" Rhia asked quizzically.

Maeve chuckled, "Sorry, I forgot to explain. A couple months ago I woke up in St.Mungo's hospital with no memory of my past. They have recently 'released' me in hopes returning here to hogwarts might revive some memorys. So far it hasnt done a thing and I am as clueless as ever. I am not even sure anyone knows who I am anyway."

"I think I vaguely remember you," Rhia said. "But I don't think I knew you very well... I'm sorry I can't tell you more."

Maeve shrugged, "It's alright. By the looks of it barely anyone remembers me. Maybe I was just some quiet girl no one paid much attention to. Which is ok with me as long as no one hates me. I dont want drama cause of something I dont remember."

Rhia laughed. "Yeah, I wouldn't want that either. HAve you had breakfast yet?"

Maeve shook her head, "No I haven't. Mind if I steal some of Gryffindor's food."

Yuki opened the door to the Great Hall and looked around for someone he recognized. Only Rhia-san. He strided over to her confidently and sat down with her, and a girl he didn't know. He nodded to both of them.

"Morning, Rhia-san." He said politely, being careful around her now after what Dani-chan had told him. He didn't want anything to happen. He then turned his purple gaze over to Maeve and spoke.

"Hello, Miss. I don't believe I've met you before, I'm Yuki Sohma." He smiled a small smile, stood and bowed politely, then sat back down.

"Hey Yuki," Rhia said. "Long time no see!" Answering MAeve's question, Rhia motioned to the table heaped with food and said, "Help yourself, Maeve!"

Maeve smiled at Rhia, "Thanks."

Maeve smiled at Yuki and his polite manners, "Hello Yuki, I am Maeve Lechmere. I would curtsy becuase of your charming bow but my current sitting will not allow me to."

Maeve gave a slight chuckle and grabbed a custard filled choclate donut.

He nodded awkwardly at Rhia then turned his gaze back to Maeve and laughed. "I'm sorry...if it's to much." He nodded, and smiled playfully at the curtsy remark, but didn't add on.

He glanced at the food and frowned. American food was nothing he was used to.

Maeve smiled, "It's not too much. I think it is very charming to bow. More people should be so polite, but politeness is an art lost by many these days."

Maeve noticed his frown as he looked upon the food, "Not big on American food? It isn't as good as alot of other countries food I guess."

Rhia shrugged. "I'm not that picky... but sometimes it really bothers me about the high content of oil and fats that American food has.... but nevermind that. What are you going to do this fine St. Patrick's Day, Yuki?"

He nodded at Maeve and shrugged.

"Thank you for your complement, Miss Lechmere." He smiled, with a soft tone, still very polite, as usual.

He looked back at the American food with disgust and nodded.

"I...yeah, not used to it, I suppose." He chuckled to himself. Rice was much more appealing.

His violet gaze turned back to Rhia and he blushed.

"Well...I actually, have never celebrated St. Patrick's Day before, what exactly is it?" He frowned, embarrassed at himself. He should have done more research before coming to England.

"It's a holiday that most people celebrate these days, but it originated in Ireland, I think. The holiday is to honor St. Patrick and as tradition, everyone where's green today and today, as a treat, classes are canceled and there're going to be celebrations!" Rhia smiled, as she adored any party.

Maeve nodded, "Yeah it did originate in Ireland. And it is to celebrate St.Patrick's indroduction of christianity to Ireland."

He glanced down at his black shirt, black pants and white tie with a frown. "Uh..Whoops." He smiled nervously up at Rhia and shrugged "Oh well."

He looked around the room at all the green decorations, shamrocks and normal St. Patrick's decorations. "Should've guessed to change into green." He commented. "Canceled classes are always good."

Rhia nodded. "I couldn't agree more," she said.

"Canceled classes are great," Maeve chuckled.

Maeve thought bout Yuki's lack of green and then remember something in her pocket and reached for it.

"Take this and put it on. You don't want to get pinched." She said handing him a green shamrock sticker.

He laughed at the sticker and stuck it on his nose. Then tilted his head at them.

"Pinched?" He frowned playfully and shook his head. "A little violent, isn't it?" He shrugged and peered at her through clouded eyes.

Maeve giggled as he put the sticker on his nose.

"Tradition goes if you do not wear green you get pinched," Maeve explained, "I know it is a bit violent, but it can be fun when you are a younger like bout the age of the first and second years."

"Ahhh, I understand." He nodded, putting all this information to note. He looked up at the ceiling then back at the two girls.

"Anything else I should know, or am I clear?" He smiled and leaned his arms on the table. "Any presents I need to pick up for anyone?" He smiled at them both and let his eyes linger on Maeve for a second longer.

Maeve smiled at the thought of presents.

" I wish presents were involved, but sadly there is no gift giving." Maeve explained. " Just decorations of green all around and, well, pinching. Thats about it other than parades and some adults using it as a reason to consume alchohol."

"So what kind of holidays do you celebrate from where you came from?" She asked curiously.

He laughed a full, pure laugh at the adult consuming alcohol comment then shrugged at her.

"Well, I'm from Japan. We have quite a few that you don't celebrate here...In england. There's one that I'm quite fond of, it's called "White Day" it's basically the equivalent of Valentine's day for you." He smiled and continued on, "The men or boys give cakes and chocolate, presents, ETC, to the girl or women they love." He tilted his head and moved the topic along.

"What other holidays are there that I should be aware of?" He asked, a lower softer tone.

Maeve thought for a bit," Well the only good holidays in my opinion are Christmas, Halloween, and Valentine's day. Any of those you don't know about?"

Maeve smiled and said," I am happy to explain any of themfor you if you need."

He blushed and looked at her again, through dull purple eyes. "Admittedly, Halloween is the only one I don't know about. We celebrate Christmas back at home." He paused then continued."Tell me about it. I don't even have a clue of what it might be. Is it your england coming of age day?" He questioned, tilting his head.

Maeve shook her head, "No, Halloween is a day of candy and costumes." Maeve explained looking into his purple eyes, "People dress up in a costume of their choosing and then walk around and ring people's doorbells or knock on the door. When someone answers the door the person in costume says 'Trick or Treat' and then the person from the house gives them candy. The person in costume repeats this at every house that has their front porch light on. If the person has their front porch light on it means they are welcoming the costumed people to ring their doorbell or knock on their door. Anything you confused about?"
