Well as I opened the forum I thought that I should do an entry, and what better subject than my miracle baby! Yes, this could bore some of you, but I know a few of you are interested, so instead of updating the lovely post Caroru set up, I will update this one with the progress.

Firstly, I'll backtrack

Friday 9th March

What an amazing day!
We had been trying for a baby for nearly three years and had been given only a 1% chance of ever having children naturally. We were booked in for specialist help and had our first appointment that morning, and I, for some reason, decided to take a test. Imagine my surprise when two blue lines appeared. We didnt believe it, though after 6 tests all showing the same thing we booked a doctors appointment and celebrated (with orange juice of course!)

Wednesday 14th March

Had the doctors appointment and the doctor said she thought we were already 11 weeks gone!

So I went to the receptionist to get a midwife appointment and when I told her that I was around 11 weeks, her face was a picture (I guess because most people find out when they are about 5/6 weeks) so it was all go!

I was sent for a blood test straight away - so much blood Sad My whole arm went white! (I am terrified of needles by the way lol)

Then five minutes later my midwife calls and arranges an appointment for that afternoon - in the next hour!

We rushed back and discussed everything, including the fact Im terrified of hospitals since my nan was treated extremely badly in one resulting in her death. I discussed that I wouldd prefer a home birth, but she said although it was up to me, perhaps look at a midwife unit which would mean no doctors, only midwifes and as long as everything is ok, I would be home an hour after the birth, plus Mick can stay with me the whole time - which I think we are seriously considering

A few days later our 20 week scan came through for two days after my birthday in May, though we are still waiting for the dating scan to come through which I cant wait for!

we had the dating scan today and we found out that we are only 8 weeks (not 11 as my doctor thought) so the scan was very tiny but we got a pic anyway. The real one is much clearer than this:

See the black area - the shape within that is little elfie titch!

We saw her little heart beating and everything is ok, but I have to rest and be careful for a bit longer now until we are past the 12 week mark

The due date is 6th November - it seems such a long way away

1st April

Ooh April fools day! Ok that was a litte off topic, but I only just realised lol

Anyways yes, if anyone ever tells you the first months of pregnancy is brilliant dont listen to them lol. Im soo full of sickness at the moment and I dont know why its called morning sickness - try morning, afternoon and night sickness! Although Im not complaining as I could never complain about such a miracle!

ooh ooh and I realised that I am very like the doctor in doctor who now! I have two hearts in side of me hehe!

Sarahs wedding was brilliant though I couldnt dance much at the reception because I was feeling quite sick and my stomach was in a bit of pain (growing pains apparently) and I was soooo tired lol.

So theres my little update

3rd April

Well little elf has reached the 9 week mark and is still making me feel really sick, but I'll have many years to get my own back hehe!

Apparently little elf is the size of a grape even thought I already have a small tummy! And she is starting to look like a real baby now and not just a blob!

We have been thinking more on names and Mick seems very hooked on Katie for a girl, which I love but I wont make any decisions yet as I love going through loads of names.

hehe i was just thinking...

since she or he will be the miracle baby, if it's a girl you could name it hope or something or maybe just for a middle name.
dont put any weight on this, it was just a thought i had.

Little elf is 10 weeks tomorrow and Im still suffering morning and evening sickness But - I already have a small bump and I have gone from under 8 stone to 8 stone 8 which is amazing and must be the pregnancy because I tried for ages before to put on weight and couldnt. Its probably a lot of water too - my mum had loads of water when pregnant with my little sister Hannah that when her waters broke she didnt even look pregnant anymore lol.

Thats one thing Im worried about - Im refusing to go around a supermarket when Im due in case my waters break in the middle of the vegetable aisle! That would be soooo embarressing lol

Anyways lol

We should be able to hear the babys heartbeat now, but I dont have a midwifes appointment for another 6 weeks Ah well, itll come soon

Im now a quarter of the way through the pregnancy but November still seems so far away lol

Aww Don't worry Elfie, when November comes, you'll probably look back and say how fast time flys! Can't believe little elf is growing so fast! *huggles* You'll be a great mommy! What abt naming her Ginny? lol XD but I've always thought Ginevra was a pretty name since I found out that was Ginny's full name... But it'd be strange naming someone after a HP character lol XD

Yeh just slightly, and severus is definatly off the cards if its a boy
I wouldnt name it Ginny anyway as I dont really like Ginnys character in the books - just something about her that annoys me hehe

People are starting to say I look pregnant now and I see the looks of some neighbours wondering whether to ask me if Im pregnant and worried that I might turn around and say Im just putting on weight lol

Im suffering bad dizzyness at the moment and to top it off I had a huge migraine hit yesterday and without taking anything to help it as Im pregnant I was extremely sick

I feel better now, though, just very tired which is normal for me. Its only another week and 1 day until I reach the 2nd trimester which is great

YAY! the 2nd trimester is the end of all-day sickness right? right? lol XD Awww I'm sorry you're feeling bad Elfie... that sucks that you can't take medicine. They're essential! lol XD

Not necessarily My sisters sickness didnt go until she was 16 weeks

They say that life is a rollercoaster, then if that is true, pregnancy, or at least the first stage of pregnancy as I can not yet comment on the later stages, must be some kind of big dipper from the heavens to the earth.

The pregnancy dizzyness really hit bad this week - mainly in the evenings. All week I have been so tired and dizzy and it is worse in the evenings from about 5pm until I go to bed. Saying this, though, there is a slight upside. My morning sickness has eased up slightly in the mornings, yet simply got worse in the evenings.

Ive also started getting a bit of pain back in the top of my stomach. People reassure me that it is still everything changing and growing but I cant help but fret over it all. I guess that is normal for new mums, especially first timers like me.

These past couple of days I have also been hit with a wave of emotions. One minute I am laughing and smiling and the next the tears start flowing, mostly for unknown or silly reasons, reasons which Im sure are annoying Mick, but bless him - he never says a word...well much anyway!!

Ok we are down to three boys names and 20 girls names hehe (thats if I dont change my mind again)

I love Callum for a boy! Of course I'm partial to Katie for a girls name, and my middle name is Lorene (the e on the end is pronounced like an a) so I thought it was funny that you had Lorienne on your list. : ) I love the names Paige and Meaghan and Brooke (they're on my list to...for some day). Girls names are so hard to choose from! And its a forever name, which adds pressure. But you and Mick will figure it out and the right name will appear. My top girl names are Paige, Rachel, Delanie, Jorie, and Leah is my favorite for the moment and Elizabeth will be for the middle name, or possibly first. Boys are harder, but I like Connor, Callum, Dane, Brennan and Lee.

Wow... Elfie, little elf is going to have a very very long name! and to think that mine only has three syllables... lol XD Anyway, here are my top three boy names and top five girl names in order.

so... there are my opinions... But I was wondering, would Rachiel be pronounced like Rachel? And how would Meaghan, Teaghan,and Brachan be pronounced?

Rachiel is Rachel just a different spelling, which is a funny thing - my sister sarahs middle name is Rachel and I spelt it with an i for years until last year my mum told me I had spelt it wrong all these years hehe

I have a real baby bump now!! Im really big for 14+3 weeks so I think Im going to be huge. My sister didnt have this much of a bump until she was 20 weeks!

Im still suffering sickness And im still getting sooo tired, but at least I have got past the most dangerous stage, although I am so worried that something will happen. I cant wait until just over a week when im exactly 16 weeks as weve got our midwife appointment to hear the babys heartbeat! And then another 5 weks after that on my 21st week we have our next scan and I think Ive (well we've) decided - we are going to find out (if we can) whether it is a boy or girl!

oh wow - ok this isnt ours but this is a 4D scan dvd of a baby at 15 weeks which is the time where our little elf is so this is sort of what little elf is looking like now and in one part its sucking its toes lol

We have our midwifes appointment tomorroow to hear the heartbeat. Im slightly nervous in case anything is wrong but im so excited too!

okay so i totally agree with rigby for callum with the boys name its so cute and for the girls id say chloe or paige XD
eloise reminds me of eloise midget from HP lol!

and i hope everything goes okay with the heart skan + you look totally cute in that pic your top is way ace.

People have been asking for an update so here goes

The heart scan went really well, although I got very panicky when it took the midwif 4 attempts to find it! She did say that at that stage, this was normal though. The funny thing was, only three hours later my sister had a heart scan and her baby came through so loud that it made the midwife jump! She is 3/4 months ahead of me though.

The sickness has finally gone, and about time considering I am 18 weeks today! I do still get slightly queesy occasionally, but I can handle it. I get slightly dizzy, though this could be low blood pressure, Im not sure.

The BIG news, well for me anyway, is that I think, about 80% certain now, that I felt the baby move! It was like a small echoey bubbling feeling - very weird but exciting. Mick can't feel her yet, though, something he is looking forward to.

I seem to be growing huge, well I feel it anyway lol. In the past week alone, tops which fitted 7 days ago are now too tight! Time for a perfect excuse to go clothes shopping methinks lol

In 3 weeks exactly, we have our 21 week scan where we hope to find out the sex of the baby. As most of you know, we are hoping for a girl, but either a boy or girl would be perfect. Knowing little elf, though, she/he will have her dads stubborness and have its legs crossed or facing away so we wont be able to see, but fingers crossed, and I'll let you all know as soon as we know.

As for names, well it keeps changing. I cant make up my mind at all. Poor little baby will have to put up with little elf for a while longer lol

Aww it's great to hear you are feeling better now and that things are going great with the pregnancy. Sharon...your bump is ADORABLE!!!!

I want a baby now lol, but I will wait on that I think, at least until I am married!

Elfie whatever you do dont name your kid Traci or Tracy how ever to be spelt. I mean yes it is my name but it lacks personality I feel. I do like most of the names you have picked out. You are soo lucky.

lol Tracey is my middle name too though I dont want any of my names in the babys name. I might have angela in a second girls middle name as thats my other middle name and my mums name.
Ooh ooh! We actually saw little elf move! I mean we saw her kick my stomach and my stomach moved - it was so funny and such a weird feeling. Mick nearly fell of the bed in shock when we first saw it hehe

Only 3 more days until our scan! I hope that little elf is in the right position so we can tell if it is a girl or a boy!!

Its a little elf!! A lovely little girl! We have spoken over names and have decided that Aimee is probably going to be her name. We are still discussing middle names, but it may be: Aimee Rachiel Megan Barbara

Everything was all well with little elf as well, which was great, and we went straight to the local shopping mall to buy a few little clothes - they are sooo cute!

In the scan she actually waved at us! It was sooo lovely, and when she kicked I both felt it and saw it which was so magical!

We had a worrying time last week. Little Elf is very active usually and with quite strong kicks, so after three days of silence and not feeling her at all, we were really worried. I phoned the midwife who told me to make an emergency doctors appointment, which I did. I was near to tears, my mum was crying on and off all day and Mick was really worried, but luckily she found the heartbeat and all was well.

After the worrying time of not feeling little elf kick, we decided to buy a prenatal heart monitor so we could listen to her heart whilst still inside me. We got it at a bargain of £8 plus p&p instead of the usual £30 which made up our minds to buy it.

As Im only 5 1/2 months it is still difficult to hear her heartbeat on one of these (much easier at the doctors/midwifes) but we did pick it up and also heard her kick at the same time I felt her kick!

My little brother and sister loved it so much, especially when they figured out how to listen to their own heart beats!!

She has been kicking a lot today which is great, although Im getting a lot of pain in my side and hips - theres a name for it but i cant remember. I just hope it doesnt get any worse as ive heard of people hardly being able to walk with it.

We still have a week and a half until our next midwife appointment but after that I think we have really regular appointments.

Yay!!! the baby bump is wonderful and Aimee is a BEAUTIFUL name! so pretty! lol XD and I agree with Caro.. Mick, you're going to be a GREAT Daddy! and it's a girl!!! lol XD I guessed right in the guess the elf challenge... A GIRL!!!!!!!!!!

hehe that will be so fun to do!

Im in a lot of pain at the moment, though, I have got sciatica which is pain right down my right hand side in my stomach, hips and legs which is making it difficult to walk, sit for a long time and sleep. I just hope it goes away after pregnancy.

lol the other night, Aimee had hiccups and just as they went and I fell asleep, Lise rang at 2.30am and woke me up and caused Aimee to get hiccups again :D

lol XD So her name is going to be Aimee?
