| Well, me and Amy are talking (with Marie and Sharon), and the first thing that struck me as odd on the UK children's edition is Prongs, on the inside cover. Not odd as such, just... exactly how significant will that be, and exactly WHAT significance does it give rise to?
Moving on, Amy was going on about the silveriness of the back cover (and that of Prongs). I don't have much to say on it, but whilst looking at Hogwarts, the fog/smoke/smog caught my eye... well, it's pretty hard not to notice it. Amy said it was Dementors... I guess so...
The snake on the inside back over of the same edition has a reflection in the globe that me and Amy think looks like the Tardis (in Doctor Who) XD Hehe. But anyway, there are theories going round that it is a prophecy...
I'll stop now - I have some more looking at to do. (Oh, and doesn't that grail/cup under Harry's left hand look strangely familiar...?)

| Well, I did think that the back of the UK cover was perhaps silvery and foggy because of dementors/patroni, and the tree was dead because the dementors suck the life out of things.
But, perhaps it's smoke from a fire?
Also on the UK front, you can see fire reflected in Harry's eyes, and their robes are singed. So going on from the assumption that they're in Gringotts, perhaps they encounter one of the dragons Hagrid talked about in PS?
I have lots more thoughts but my mind is too muddled to write them down right now :D

| WOMG! You mean, 2 days have passed until I finally noticed this thread and the pics? XD ehh now ontopic:
in the UK edition, they seem to be somehow flying out/bursting out of somewhere... huuuh?
and another thing I noticed: in the US back and front cover, both Harry and Voldie are trying to catch something that seems to be high up in the air... huh, flying horcrux? Fawkes?
murrr I should think more about the pics.. but I gotta go to sleep now.. >.<" ... I'll have a closer look at them tomorrow...

| I think that it's important that the US cover shows Harry and Voldemort reaching to catch something, but they have no wands in their hands. So maybe they are both summoning their wands, and whoever catches it first will kill the other, or it could be that their wands have already canceled one another out...just a thought. | |

| I noticed in the UK version for kids, it seems as if a house elf's holding the sword. I agree with the maybe in Gringotts idea. But there's also like a kind-of archway... maybe the veil? About the US edition, it does seem as if Harry and Voldemort are either looking up at something, about to catch something, or both. But I also noticed that they seem to be in a coloseum-type setting. And there seem to be shadowy figures in the background... maybe people like the Wizengamot? And Harry looks like he's wearing a pouch thing around his neck... What could that be? | |

| perhaps on the US cover, harry is reaching out like that because he's doing wandless magic? We know harry & voldie's wands don't work against each other, soooo.... | |

lol I was just looking more closely at that cover and I also think they're in Gringotts...what I wanted to point out is that there actually is a little baby dragon right there in front of Harry, though it's not breathing fire XD but that might mean that its mommy is around somewhere lol

| Hmm, I thought that dragon was part of the helmet, as it's the same colour. But it could be a real dragon I guess. | |

| New cover art! From the deluxe US edition! - Spoiler:
It shows Harry, Ron and Hermione riding a dragon
Click the spoiler below to see! - Spoiler:
And what the box set will look like: - Spoiler:
So what do we think this means? We've theorised already that they possibly encountered a dragon in Gringotts (from the UK cover) - so did they take it with them? Or perhaps they've visited Romania and Charlie and his dragons? Maybe Norbert comes back? Argh!! So many possibilities, and only a little over a month to go!!!

| Squeee! It looks cool!
Oh, hehe... good poll question! ^.^
Anyhow... me hopes they've gone to Romania! XD See, the mountains... could be the Carpathians! :D Annnd maybe they'll meet Dracula XD (nooo ... please... XD .. I'm tired of the stupid tourist-attracting story... XD)
besides that, the picture looks to me as if it were a happy-end-piccy. As in: "and they defeated Voldieshorts and flew back home on a dragon (Norbert?), into the sunshine, and lived happily ever after. The end." ... but it could also be the way to the final battle, maybe?
hmm...... :/ | |

| The norbert thing really ties in with the arc theory. And I actually think it is him. On the UK cover I think that the house elf on Harrys back is more than likely going to Dobby becuase 1. It looks like a house elf 2. It looks like it trying to help Harry which is something kreacher would not do. The place that they are at now at first glance I thought the arc in the ministry but then they are all falling so that would mean they would all fall to their death but then again they do look afraid. But no I think it will probably be gringots and maybe Harrys parents had something of Godric Gryfindors becuase of where they lived Godric Hallow maybe that was where Godric grew up and then people named the village after him. If so Harrys parents house was destroyed meaning that their stuff would have had to go in that vault for Harry. The US edition has Harry and Voldemort both streaching up to get something by the looks of it and I think that maybe voldemort took ollivander to that he could tell him of some way how to defeat Harry without his wand and ollivander would know all about wands becuase if voldemort and Harry dueled prior incantatem would happen again so it would make sense if they were trying to reach up and get something. O I dont know that was purely all guess work. | |
