Voldemort took Olivander because he is the best wand maker around. Not only will he try and force him to fix the wand problem with Harry and Voldemort, I think he will keep Olivander around with him. He can replace wands for the Death Eaters, and as long as he is not at his shop, he is not supplying new wands to new students who may eventually go against him. Him having Olivander is a win-win situation.

I think Voldy's forcing him to help fix the problem that occurs between teh two wands *nods*

if it wasn't the fact that was mentioned in the books the way it did i'd say he just ran, though the book gives the impression of something else

however i can't picture him as voldemort's prisoner, it doens't looks like the type of jk writing
