The Time Traveler's Wife

I finished this book yesterday, and thought I'd come recommend it to you all.

This is an amazing book - very poignant, and at its heart a love story. The concept is a little difficult to get your head around to begin with - one of the main characters, Henry, suffers from this disorder that means he is constantly being pulled out of the present and going into the past and the future.

That doesn't sound too confusing, but what makes it slightly difficult to get your head around is that he meets his wife when she is six, and he is thirty-six, yet they get married when she is twenty and he is twenty-eight.

Lost yet? After the first few chapters you start to understand how this works, but even at the very end of the book I was really having to think, you know, "Henry is 43 now, Clare is 35, but Henry in the past is 25, and Clare is 18 but they're all in this same chapter in this same present...or is it past?..."

The ending is so sad, amazingly sad, and it made me cry

I would definitely recommend this to read; don't be put off by my notions that it is confusing, because it is, but that doesn't take away from the book in any way. At the end, you'll pretty much understand everything - it all falls into place.

My friend absolutley loves this book. She keeps telling me to read it... haha
