| June peeked out from behind the curtain of backstage. She smiled as she took in the large stage of the Kodak Theatre that was decorated in silver. Not for the first time, June thanked Merlin that the Gryffindors had been lucky enough for Swifty to pull a few strings so that for Celebrity Wear, they could use the Kodak Theatre, home to the Oscars. Draped on the steps leading up to the theatre from each side, were long red carpets. The lights shone brightly and right before the audience walked in, June saw that someone was testing the microphones. She quickly ran to the changing rooms to change into her first outfit. By the time June was finished with her preparations for her outfit, hair, and makeup, all the seats were filled and the audience began looking through their programs. "You're up!" Swifty told June. June nodded and took a deep breath before the curtain was quickly swept aside and June walked out onto the red carpet, head high with a smile on her face as "Every Little Thing she Does is Magic" played from one of Nicole Kidman's movies. June's hair was charmed blonde and was piled in a bun on top of her head. Bold red lipstick stood out against the pale makeup on her face, but also enhanced the little hints of pink blush on her cheeks. June's eyes were charmed to look blue as she 'played the part' of Nicole Kidman. As June walked up the steps, her golden dress swept to the side and when June reached the actual stage, her commentary began. June posed in different directions while the commentator described her dress. June, always the eager one, already knew the commentary by heart, as she had helped to write it. Her dress was done in golden silk to imitate one of the dresses that Nicole Kidman had once worn. The dress was held on by one spaghetti strap over one shoulder and a thicker piece of cloth on the other. There was a pattern of straight lines that crossed the dress at diagonals and the main skirt of the dress was swept to the side, near the waist. June also wore a pair of golden stilettos and a pair of long dangling golden earrings. The dress cost 275 galleons while the shoes were priced at 75 galleons and the earrings, at 20 galleons. Every Little Thing she Does is Magic: Though I’ve tried before to tell her Of the feelings I have for her in my heart Every time that I come near her I just lose my nerve As I’ve done from the start Every little thing she does is magic Everything she do just turns me on Even though my life before was tragic Now I know my love for her goes on Do I have to tell the story Of a thousand rainy days since we first met It’s a big enough umbrella But it’s always me that ends up getting wet Every little thing she does is magic Everything she do just turns me on Even though my life before was tragic Now I know my love for her goes on I resolve to call her up a thousand times a day And ask her if she’ll marry me in some old fashioned way But my silent fears have gripped me Long before I reach the phone Long before my tongue has tripped me Must I always be alone? Every little thing she does is magic Everything she do just turns me on Even though my life before was tragic Now I know my love for her goes on | |

| WL beamed at the crowd in her gorgeous white dress and walked to the front of the stage. As Marilyn Monroe, nothing could go wrong for her. She knew she looked great: a glamour hiding her own chocolate brown skin, making it look more pearly and soft, her shiny charcoal locks were hidden under a wig of nearly white blond hair. The dress itself was a Monroe classic; short, white and non-sleeved. What's more, it was the original, worth over 500 Galleons. The strappy shoes accentuated whatever leg WL had to make them look long and lovely, and the earings were real pearls hanging down from WL's lobes...Exquisite performance by the Marilyn Monroe look-alike!:: | |

| Swift was beaming - she was IN The Kodak Theatre!! With the lights and the seats and the aisles and that absolutely GORGEOUS stage... The dreamy look still in her eyes, she wandered around backstage as June modelled her Nicole Kidman outfit, humming absentmindedly to the song that was playing.
She still couldn't believe it... THE Kodak Theatre...
...I am amazing. She grinned to herself, then sighed once again. The WORK that had gone into firstly finding the the best venue to host the category, then working the charms and spells into the stage... It had Swift running around for days on end. Her stage team had also helped out - even the lighting team had to chip in a day or two of work.
Like their g + g stage, the back wall was almost transparent, but only from behind. Scores of charms had to be fitted into the wall, and they now ran on the magic of everyone involved in the show; witches and wizards within a range of one kilometre were slowly, unknowingly for most, feeding their magic into the charms that kept the wall transparent. The slight depletion in energy would be too small to notice anyway.
From the audience's point of view, the wall was magnificent. A huge 'G+G' sign floated above the stage, the dark orange stone embedded with pieces of silver, glittering in the light. A fluttering veil, made of a soft, grey material, covered the back wall, its movement continuous with the WL-invented Breeze Charm.
Content once more, Swift slumped down the wall, sighing in happiness.
"Dude, stop sighing. You're like... making me lose concentration."
And she could only smile. | |
