Blood and Chocolate

I watched this earlier today, and I thought it was pretty good.

There are probably two mindsets you can go into watching this film with: the first is watching it as a film, and the second is watching it as someone who has read the book.

I think it's a little dangerous to go in as the second one, especially if you've read the book, because the film is nothing like the book. They may as well have changed the characters names, changed the title, and you wouldn't even have associated it with the book by Annette Curtis Klause.

That said, if you haven't read the book, or you go into watching it without the book in mind, then you will more than likely enjoy it. I've read the book, yet I really liked it.

The wolves used in it are real wolves, and this gives a sense of realism to the film in a movie world that is dominated by CGI. Rafe and the others in The Five are quite creepy, and I noticed that the evil one (rafe) was English! Olivier Martinez was perfectly cast as Gabriel: dark, sexy and brooding.

I wasn't sure about Agnes Bruckner as Vivian to start with, but she grew on me throughout the film. And Hugh Dancy as Aiden was great - very cute.

This is quite a dark film, with not many moments of humour to counteract that. The romance is good, and well built up for such a short film.

Overall, I'd recommend this. But if you've read the book, loved the book, and don't think you can handle anything that deviates too far from the canon...avoid or tread carefully!

I saw this on the shelf of Blockbuster when I was searching for movies, but it didn't catch my interest. My sisters and I bickered over it for awhile, but we eventually decided against it. Although, if it's as good as you say maybe I'll go back and check it. Either that or go buy the book.

Is this the one where the girl turns into a werewolf and she chases that dude with her pack and falls in love etc I think it is any way assuming it is I loved this I went to see it with my dad and my friends yup I still go to the cinema with my daddy lol! I never knew it was a book I must go and buy it.
