ROUND 2 : Group 2

Instructions

You have been split into three groups depending on where you placed in the last round (ie: 1st placings grouped together etc).

Each group will have one match opened for them and you will duel against all of the members of the group at the same time in a group battle.

You are allowed an unlimited amount of posts (though please do not double post) and you may use both creative spells and known spells from HP

You will not be marked purely on how long your posts are, or how many (though this will be one small factor of the marking) yet you will be marked on the following;

* Eye for surroundings
* Defensive and offensive spells (both what spells are used and how well they are used)
* Knowledge of spells
* Eye for detail (both your own posts and others posts)
* Inventiveness and creativeness as a whole
* Awareness of all members in your group

Rigby opened the door of her dueling room cautiously, crouching low to avoid any spells thrown her way. Silence greeted her and she slowly crawled through the entrance, not caring that she looked silly. The coast appeared to be clear, the room was empty. "Apero Occultus!" (Reveal Hidden) she whispered quietly. Nothing happened exce[t that a few spiderwebs in the corner of the room glowed faintly from the spell. Excited to be the first in the room, Rigby went to work she had to be fast and precise. Inspired by a recent viewing of The Princess Bride she was determined to transform the dueling room into the Fire Swamp, complete with lightening sand and R.O.U.S's. Pointed her wand to the floor she shouted, " Vicissitudo Ut Fire Swamp!" (Change to Fire Swamp). She hurridedly jumped out of the way as huge trees began to burst through the floor, the smell of sulfer filled the air and the distinct popping noises that forewarned bursts of fire began to sound their warnings. Rigby looked into the darkened forest and saw the glowing, mean eyes of the R.O.U.S's (Rodents Of Unusual Size). Grinning at them nervously she quickly transformed her robes into tough leather, not wanting her grimey little creatures to bite her. She quickly made her way through the forest memorizing the locations of the lightening sand. Satisfied that all was in order, Rigby ascended into a large tree with a view of the front door. A huge tree branch lay across the doors opening, which would make the door opening a difficult task. Rigby aimed her wand, ready to blast the first person through the doors with a hex.

Stephy slowly made her way to the room where she was to be dueling, this time in groups. Thinking back to her first duel she knew she should protect herself before she entered the room seeing as to last time she didnt do too well. Stephy then threw her hands into her pockets and tried to think of some good spells that would help her. I going to have to be able to think clearly Stephy thought trying to think of a spell that would allow her to do this. Stephy raised up her wand, pointed it at herself and said "Mens vacuus interuption" (mind free from interuption). Now im going to have to protect myself somewabecause i know that theres bond to be someone there thats going to want to jinx me.I know the moment I get a spell fired at me ill use the shield charm
Stephy then continued her way over towards the room and the first thing she noticed was that the door was opened and the room was what looked like a fire swamp. What do i do Stephy thought as she started to panick. Then a large rodent came after her and she shouted "CONGELO" (freeze) and the rodent fell to the floor where it shattered. Then Stephy saw Elana and said "Protego" (shiled charm) without thinking and was protected by the charms shield for a while.

Amy approached the door to the duelling arena with trepidation. She didn't know what - or who - to expect, and the anticipation was enough to provoke fear. She had done relatively well in the first round of games, but if she wanted to maintain her title as Duelling Champion, she had to up her game.

She saw that the heavy wooden door was slightly ajar, and peered around it cautiously. She could see a dark, dank forest, with some strange movements within. Stepping back, she contemplated what her next move should be. Others had obviously arrived before her, and they were bound to have set up some trickery and traps. And so the first thing she knew she must do was protect herself.

She first of all cast a simple shield charm around her, which would protect against some relatively basic spells and hexes. Then, she whispered "Deuxieme Piel" (second skin), and shivered as the spell worked its magic. It was a complex spell that she'd learned and practiced specifically for this round of duels, and worked in such a way that it was nigh on impregnable. It coated her body in a sort of second skin, one that was as tough as diamonds, yet as flexible as rubber. It should serve her well.

Satisfied that she was well protected, Amy held her wand aloft and stepped through the door. The scene that greeted her was one of a deep forest, with bursts of fire in a clearing, and the rustling that indicated live animals were nearby.

She stepped over a gnarled root quite cautiously, and had to physically stop herself from jumping when what looked like a very large rat appeared in front of her. Taking a moment to overcome her shock, she then acted with lightning quick speed and shot an incendio spell at the giant rodent. It let out a high pitched squeal and then burst into flames. Amy felt a moment's guilt at killing a living thing, but then remembered that it would have only been conjured into existence moments before by a fellow student.

The rodent dealt with, she looked around the room, and cursed the darkness. She cast a night-vision spell on her eyes, which made heat patterns immediately visible. She saw one to her left, and grinned.

"Petrifaction!" She called, (petirification), and the spell went zinging towards her opponent, who through the infra-red looked to be Elana. If the spell met its target, the person on the receiving end would suffer a sort of petrifold regression, and over a short period of time, turn to stone.

Having set that spell on its course, Amy decided to play with the elements slightly, and cast up a bitingly cold wind.

After putting up the shield charm Stephy darted behind a tree and tried to calm down. Theres nothing to worry about Stephy said trying to calm herself down. "AHHHHH" Stephy screamed as another rodent came towards her. She quicky drew out her wand and pointed it at the creature saying "Sperma" (sperrow) and the rodent turned into a bird which flew away from her leaving her sound and safe. Gettting tired of the Rodents Stephy pointed her wand at herself and said "Repello servant" (repel creatures) and knew this would keep the rodents away.
Stephy then looked around the tree and saw Amy enter the room. After watching her do a couple of inpressing spells she decided to send one after her when a cold wind began. Shivering Stephy held her wand in the air and shouted "Levicorpus" (holds you in the air by your one ankle) and watched to see if the spell would make contact with her.

Amy smiled to herself as she felt the wind begin to howl around the room. The wind dispersed the leaves on the ground, so she couldn't see if her spell towards Elana had hit its target. Shivering slightly at her own spell, she cast a warming spell around her body, then performed a couple of checks to make sure her diamond-hard shield spell was still intact.

It seemed to be, however there must have been a slight fault as she felt herself get hit with a spell that jerked her up behind her navel and whirled her around until she seemed to be hanging upside down.

"Darn," she muttered to herself, as she reasoned that someone must have hit her with a levicorpus spell. And what was worse was that she had almost fallen on her own sword - the wind she had created was buffeting her from side to side, making it difficult for her to get a hold on her thoughts. Summoning the will, she pulled her wand out and aimed it at the ground, casting a cushioning spell. She then released the spell that had been put upon her, and fell to the floor.

Slightly shaken, she stood up and looked around for her opponents. She spotted stephy nearby and grinned.

"Devenez petit!" (grow small) She called, pointing her wand at the Ravenclaw. If it worked, the spell would shrink Stephy to the size of a candlestick holder, therefore impeding her.

As Stephy watched her spell hit Amy she started toforget to hide behind the tree and after Amy had freed herself and sent a spell at her the next thing STephy noticed that she was shrinking.
"No" Stephy thought as she looked up and saw that she was no bigger then three or four inches. Then when she thought it couldnt get any worse she felt an earthquake began and being only three inches tall it was proving difficult to stay up on her two feet. Then STephy noticed that a storm started to form and knew she had to react quickly. Knowing that she couldnt jinx anyone else that size she had to take cover till she thought out a plan. Looking around he spotted a hole in the ground. Must be from the rodents. I should be ok from them because of the spell that i casted eailer Stephy thought as she crawled her way to the hole. Once inside Stephy started to work out a plan.
Crafting a crude broom out of a twig that was a little bigger then her she made it as close to a broom as she could. Then pulling out her wand she shouted "Navi" (fly) and the broom started to hover a few inches (so it would seem to you if you were only three inches tall) off of the ground. Stephy threw her leg over the broom and few oout of the hole hoping that no one would notice her. Once out of the hole Stephy looked down and saw that everyone was trying to keep up so Stephy made her way to the nearest tree which was also shking from the spell.
Once she was at the tree Stephy flew a few inches away from the nearest branch and tried to think of what she ought to do. Then she thought I might as well as try to make myself average hieght. Pulling out her wand she pointed it at herself and said "Adepto procerus" (get taller) and saw that she grew to three feet. Well i might be a few feet from my average hieght but it beats being three inches Stephy thought as she fell onto the tree branch and had to hold on so that she would fall off.
After holding on the branch for a while Stephy held her wand down at the ground and said "Cavus" (hole) which caused a tunnel to form below her. Falling down Stephy knew she was safe, for now.

Rigby watched the duel from the top of the tree, shivering first in the cold wind, and now in the rain. The ground shook and she clutched the tree, not wanting to fall. Tired of playing the bystander she quickly slid down the enormus tree trunk, careful to listen for R.O.U.S's and fire pops. Safely on the ground she saw a much shorter Stephy flying by, looking like an extra from The Wizard of Oz, and then her fellow Ravenclaw disappeared into a tunnel. Lightening striked the tree to Rigby's left and she leaped out of the way, just missing being body slammed by it. Lightening in the sky, lightening sand on the ground... maybe setting the duel on the Cliffs Of Insanity would have been a better, safer setting.
Now that she was on the ground she needed some kind of shelter, she climbed over the falled tree and leaped over some lightening sand. She soon found another large tree that looked like it could withstand a fair amount of spell casting. Pointing her wand she yelled, "Planto Alveus!' (Make Hollow). She made a small opening and climbed inside. She casted the Perspicuus Unus Via (Transparent One Way) spell, allowing her to see out, but like a one way mirror she herself could not be seen. She spotted Amy and narrowed her eyes, pondering a spell that would incapacitate the skilled dueler. Rigby would need a strong spell to disable the Gryffindor, so she decided to go with a spell that was particularly strong and difficult. Still if you wanna play with the big kids, you need to bring some big toys. Rigby made a small hole in the tree and poked her wand tip through it. "Terrenus Caecus!" (Temporary Blind) she said. Not waiting to see if the spell worked, Rigby turned her attention to a nearby R.O.U.S, she used the engorgement spell to make it grow even larger. "Tentatio Amy! (attack) she shouted and watched as the Rodent of Extremly Unusual Size charged a hopefully unprepared Amy. Rigby turned around, not wanting to see if it worked in case the Gryffindor got injured- she liked dueling, but did not enjoy watching her friends get attacked by large hairy rats. She was now facing the direction where she thought Stephy's tunnel was, as she had lost track of Elana for the time being. Spotting the hole Stephy was in, Rigby made another small opening in her tree trunk. She pointed to the tunnel and whispered, "Repleo!" (Fill Up). Soon the hole Stephy was in should close up, and then she would track down Elana.

After hiding in the hole for a while trying to think of how to stop Elana, Stephy started to notice the tunnel she was in started to fill with dirt. Thinking quickly STephy pointed her wand infront of her away from where the tunnel was filling up with dirt and said " Cavo" (dig) and was gald to see the dirt vanish allowing her to continue on through the tunnel. AFter running down a few feet Stephy turned around and saw that it was still filling up with dirt and knew she had to get out quickly. Pointing her wand up she said "Cavo" and climbed out of the tunnel and saw it too fill up. Then looking around she saw that she was standing right beside Elana inside her protective dome. Hoping that she was surprised Stephy poitned her wand at her and said "Validus funis ligo" (strong rope tie) which caused a rope to exit her wand and try to wrap around Elana which she knew that she would not be able to cut it off. Then pointing her wand at the dome she said "Extremitas" (end) which she hoped since she was too in the inside it would drop the protective spell around them.

After getting up from being knocked down by Elana, Stephy looked up and saw her fighting to get out of the sand. Once she saw that Elana had saftly got free she felt sure that Elana was safe for now and aimed her wand at her about to hit her with a spell but then a ROUS appeared and so Stephy chnged her mind and pointed her wand instead at the ROUS and shouted "Coerceo laqueus" (enclosed trap) and the ROUS had turned into a cage which Stephy trapped Elana inside of thowing her out of the sand. Then quickly running to the cage she pointed her wand at the cage and said "Validus obfirmo" (strong lock) whcih Stephy hoped that she would have as much diffaculty as she did with the rope.
Turing around she saw that someone was missing- Rigby. Where is she Stephy thought looking around. Darting behind a tree, so as to not get hit by any spells, STephy held her wand to her eyes and said "Animadverto turpis" (see the unseen) and then peeked around the tree and quickly saw that she was hiding inside a tree. Pointing her wand at her Stephy yelled "Nemus tentatio" (tree attack) and hoped that the tree in which Rigby was hiding behind would start to attack her.

After seeing that her spell had hit the tree which had sprung to life Stephy then looked around to see where everyone one was at. Still having the see the unseen spell working Stephy quickly saw Elana but she looked as if she was whited out. Probably an invisable spell STephy thought as she watched her looking around, possibly for Amy.
After looking around for a bit longer she saw that she did not see Amy so she decided she would send a spell after Elana instead. Raising her wand she aimed for Elana and said "Adverto bestia" (attract animals) and she knew that if the spell hit her she would have trouble with the ROUS even though she was invisable. Then Stephy started to look for Amy, she had a good spelll waiting for her.

Darn that Stephy! Although Rigby was very pleased with the hardworking Ravenclaw in general, right now she could strangle her as the tree Rigby was hiding in began to attack her. Rigby was able to escape from inside the suddenly violent tree, but then it uprooted itself and chased after, something not even the whomping willow could do. Glancing around desperatly she spotted some lightening sand. She pointed her wand at it, the tree close behind her, its branched swooping througth the air in an attmept to possible decapitate her. Frantically she cried out, "Accio Lightening Sand!". She jumped ungainly, but successfully over the sand trap, landing safely on the other side. To her great joy she saw that trees don't jump, and watched as the bewitched wood disappeared swiftly in the sand trap.

Now she Rigby need to find cover, as she was far too exposed. She slunk over to where she could have a clear view of Stephy's back. Glanicing down she spotted a tree branch that had fallen at somepont during the storm. She pointed her wand towards it, muttering, "Vicissitudo ut flasus R.O.U.S!". (Change to false rodent of unusual size). She ran up to her creation and dropped to the ground behind it.

Rigby watched the drama unfold from her behind trasnfigured twig. She saw Stephy casting spells at empty air, and figured that Elana was using an invisibilty cloak or spell. Ohhhh, her opponents were tricky! Part of group dueling was waiting it out while your opponents killed each other off, somethimes you won simply because everyone was too injured or trapped to continue. If Elana and Stephy wanted to play out their own version of Waterloo, who was Rigby to stand in their way? A mischevious smile suddenly lit her face up. What if she could attack both her fellow Ravenclaws whilst making them think that the attacks were coming from each other?

Pointing her wand at the space where Elana likely stood, Rigby whispered, "De Stephy's discessio, Fundo!" (From Stephy's direction, Melt- the dreading meliting spell that caused your opponent to slowly melt.) Then she quickly pointed her wand at Stephy and said, " De Elana's dicsessio, Palpito!" (From Elana's direction, Tremble) The palpito spell caused such bad trembling in the victim that it made sucessful wand use impossible. Laughing to herself at the destruction that would no doubt ensue, she turned her attention to Amy.

After casting a few spells at Elana Stephy looked to see what had happened to Amy and saw that the tree that was attacking her was now fighting in the lightening sand but she could not find Amy. Then as she turned back towards Elana she saw a spell come after her and not being able to dogde it quick enough the spell had hit her. At first it seemed like nothing had happened. Shurggin it off Stephy took another quick look around and saw Amy hiding a few trees Raising her wand she said "Rabidus" (crazy) but as she was half way through saying it her arm did a wild jerk and the spell instead headed off to the other side of the room. What the heck, is this the spell Elana had sent at me.... it did after all come from her direction. Looking over to where Elana was at trying to hold her head stright as it too started to twitch she saw that she had started to melt.
Thats wierd, AMy must have sent that spell at her. Right now i should figure out a way to get rid of the spell. Pointing her wand at herself she said " Constans"(steady) but her arm gave another jerk and they spell went flying off to the sky. Laying down on the ground STephy laid her wand on the ground too holding it with her one hand while the jerking in her arm started to get worse. After saying "Constans" again she had gave another jerk but this time the spell hit her foot instaed of her face like she had planned but non the less it had hit her and she noticed right away that the jerking was stopping.
