| Ooh I haven't read very much yet (just the prologue and first chappie--I'm at work XD) but it is SOOO good so far! Very interesting concept and well-written and of course it takes place in England, and I love England...I'm in that warm fuzzy muddled frame of mind I get into when I start reading a very good book...I might come back here later with more coherent thoughts XD | |

| I started to re-read this last night, but didn't get very far. I have read this before so I'm coming at this with the knowledge of what happens already, but I still found that it pulled me in and made me want to read more almost immediately. Here's my thoughts on the prologue, which is all that I read: - Spoiler:
I think it's interesting to start the story outside of the main characters PoV. Reading on you see that the rest of the book is split between the PoVs of Sephy and Callum, but this is told in third person from someone elses Pov.
I also like how we're immediately set up with the main players of the story. Sephy, Callum, Meggie and Ryan McGregor, Mr and Mrs Hadley, and Minerva, Jude and Lynette are mentioned.
We're not told very much in the prologue - what are Noughts and Crosses? Why is Meggie wishing things could be different?
And then the ending of the prologue is slightly cliffhanger-ish, but something that won't be resolved straight away.

and I was pulled in all over again. Though this time I cried a bit earlier because I knew what was going to happen...  It's so intensely sad. I want to reread the beginning... - Spoiler:
When Callum is still alive and they're both still hopeful that they might, by some fluke of nature, be together somehow...

An Eye for an Eye (very short, written for World Book Day a while back, but still worth reading)
Knife Edge
Checkmate
They're not as good as N&C, but you should definitely read them to see where the story goes. | |

| I will read the sequels, but one of my favorite parts of the book is that Sephy and Callum's story is decidedly OVER. Of course, I want to know about - Spoiler:
Jude and Callie Rose and Sephy and Mrs. MacGregor.

| Oh yes, please don't click those spoilers! If I'd known the ending before I read it I'd have absolutely hated it. I realise that perhaps me urging you not to click the spoiler warning might make you want to click it more :/ Anyway, I haven't had much time to read since yesterday, but I read the first chapter, which is from Sephy's PoV. - Spoiler:
I really like this chapter, the setting on the beach is great and the interaction between Sephy and Callum is good. It's a nice introduction to their characters and sets up the dynamic of their relationship.

He didn't get shot, he ran at the electric fence rather than spend the rest of his life in jail. :/ And actually I was kind of disappointed about what Jude's mom told him. I had been wondering if she'd confess to having an affair with Sephy's dad and they had a child--Jude...so when I found out what she actually told him it was a bit disappointing. Now that I think on it, we never do find out who Sephy's half-brother is. Another reason to read the rest of the books, then. XD

| Okay so I'm not very far with this book. I'm on page 166. - Spoiler:
Now I love how it flicks between Callum and sephy we get to know how they both feel instead of just having a one person sided story. Lynny has just died I'm guessing she has just killed herself though that is not certain yet. Also sephy and minnies mum has just tried to kill herself. I am very intrigued and I want to know more about what happens.
