First New Cast Member for HBP Film

Wow, actually posting news that TLC or MN haven't reported yet. Anyway, the first new cast member for HBP has been announced, but his role is being kept hush-hush.

A YOUNG actor will swap the stage for the big screen after landing a mystery role in the new Harry Potter film.

Taylor Triphook, 11, was over the moon to be chosen to star alongside Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.

But Warner Bros are keeping his role a secret - he won't find out more about his character until he starts filming in September.

Taylor said: "I can't wait to see and take part in such a huge film with so many famous actors.

"My dream is to perform on the West End stage and hopefully this will bring me closer."

Taylor found out about the role last Friday and his parents immediately arranged for him to have time off from St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary School, in Grays, for filming.

Proud dad, Tony, 53, of Meesons Lane, Grays, said: "Warner Bros won't tell us what part he is playing but he had to get permission to take the time off school.

"We're so proud of him.

"He has been so close before and was a reserve on Les Miserables.

He also narrowly missed out on a role in The Sound of Music."

Taylor hones his singing, acting and dancing talents at the Sylvia Young Theatre School in London, where Corringham celebrity Denise Van Outen was a student.

He will film his scenes for the sixth installment of the series, called Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, over a six-month period in Hertfordshire.

The film will follow Harry in his sixth year at Hogwarts as Lord Voldemort and his death eaters are wreaking havoc throughout the wizarding world.

So...who will he play? Immediate thought was "Arghhh a little Weasley!" But then I remembered there are no little Weasley's in HBP. So it must be either young Tom Riddle (whose hair they will dye), or someone else from that orphanage. Thoughts?

Perhaps it's a character that we've yet to see in Deathly Hallows, but for continuity's sake and the fact that a lot of the film audience don't read the books, they need to introduce him in HBP?

Six months seems like an awful long time to film scenes of an orphan, and I somehow can't see him as Tom Riddle, his hair is very distinctive ^^

Or perhaps they for some reason do a Weasley flashback and that's one of the young Weasley boys?

But even if he was a young weasly boy then he wouldent do six months would he thats a lot of time to do one scene I think Amy might be right about the riddle thing but he doesent really look like riddle to me I always thought that for the older memorie bits they would bring back the riddle from the second movie. That would make more sense to me. He could always be on the quidditch team I guess pears or coote I think can't remember properly hmmmmmm If it was for the 5th film I would have said Dennies Creevy but pfft nope. Argh! I want to know now.

Hmmm...that's very odd and curious. I think I might want to go over reading HBP again....surely he can't be playing a young Tom Riddle...I mean they could dye his hair...but still...

But I thought in order to audition you had to be 14. So does this mean if you live in the outside you can audition for the HP films? Or is it by time they film [i think that there filming in September or maybe that was auditions]

The auditions were on the 1st of July you had to be 15 I was going to go and audition for Lavender was worth a try lol! But I was too young.

I really wonder who he is... haha

do we know he is playing yet? I really want to know!

At the U.S. premiere of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Sunday, producer David Heyman confirmed to HPANA the casting of two 11-year-old red-haired children for the next film, Half-Blood Prince, which is set to begin filming in September.

The actors -- Taylor Triphook (a boy) and Katie Head -- will play minor twin characters who are not culled from JK Rowling's sixth novel. Heyman did not elaborate further. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is expected in theatres November 2008.

Hmm, i was wondering, perhaps they are the kids mouldiesocks tortured at the orphanage? Maybe flashbacks... i dunno, this has me so baffled, i dont recall 11 year old twins in HBP book...hmm.
