It's defenses are plates covering the entirety of the organism, giving extra structure and rigidity. Enemies of this single celled organism are the shell fish and krill that feed on them, as they are phytoplankton and first on the food chain. However they can be also considered an enemy to themselves, for they produce very toxin that is deadly to them. To stem this the dinoflagellate goes into a dormant or resting stage until living conditions are more suitable. It's effect on humans can be deadly. Contact with this organism during a full bloom can cause dermatitis (severe itching and hiving of the skin). Sore throat, coughing, sneezing and watery or itching eyes are the most common symptoms reported. If ingested more severe and lethal exposure to shellfish poisoning can occur and can be fatal. This organism produced two main toxins: brevetoxins - neurotoxic shellfish poisoning (NSP) and saxitoxins - paralytic shellfish poisoning (PSP). In the case of paralytic shellfish poisoning (PSP), the toxin attacks the nervous system and causes paralysis. There is no known antidote; death occurs from asphyxiation or respiratory paralysis. Part Two:~*Creative Time*~ PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I CANNOT USE A PHOTOGRAPH IN THIS WAY. IF INCORRECT, I WILL CHANGE IT.
Pink Poxie spread in closed systems once one of their pink, sparkly spores has landed in a pond. Then, this spore separates the hydrogen and oxygen particles in the pond and consumes the oxygen particles, releasing these particles out of the lake into the air as heat and thus suffocating life in the closed system, who now cannot protect their environment and lose the battle against the Pink Poxie. Once the algae have absorbed all of the oxygen, the pond no longer exists – the algae have created a vat of liquid hydrogen. With no oxygen left to feed on, the algae particles move around faster, desperately trying to find more oxygen. This heat creates enough energy to bring the liquid hydrogen to its boiling point and allow it to be released as instable hydrogen gas. This volatile gas explodes with contact of more heat; as the algae continue to move around, the hydrogen gas receives enough heat to cause explosions fatal to humans in the surrounding area. Pink Poxie has no enemy except itself, for at the explosion of oxygen, the Pink Poxie dissipates, and the spores must be carried by the wind to the next pond they will destroy.

Virga dottia is incredibly similar in looks to gillyweed at first glance. However, once you get a closer look, it becomes clear that the two plants are quite different. Virga dottia Is covered with yellow spots connected with black stripes. It is these differences that actually provide the algae with its defense mechanisms. When it feels threatened, the Virga dottia will release a poisonous gas from the yellow dots spread intermittently about it. The gas from these dots temporarily stun the senses-eyes go blind, the nose can’t smell, the ears can’t hear, etc. The effect wears off after about one minute, after which the attacker while generally go away. If it doesn’t get the message, however, the black stripes will poke out in short, sharp spikes. If anything from human to another alga comes in contact with these spikes, the part that touched the spike will become inflamed for three days unless treated. The enemies of the Virga dottia are the tadfoal-a young hippocampus-which likes to feed on the algae before its teeth growth in. The effect this algae has on humans if ingested is not deadly, but incredibly uncomfortable. Humans will get a sore throat and upset stomach for six hours, and then the illness usually passes. Humans are also affected by Virga dottia’s dangerous gas and spikes.
