Muggle Studies Discussion Class – Muggle of the Fortnight 4

Another start to another year, and here’s your first discussion class; the fourth of many more to come. For this discussion, we’ll be drifting away from the ‘sensible’ ones and moving onto celebrities. Not that celebrities aren’t sensible, just... well, I’ll leave it up to you to decide how you want to discuss them.

I’m going for actors, first – one that we as HP fans will know and most certainly love. Jason Isaacs. Ooh yes, Jason Isaacs. He who, for me, has rather more than perfected the role of Lucius Malfoy, and did an excellent job of portraying Captain Hook in Peter Pan. However, it’s not my opinions that are going to get you any points, so off you go. Discuss, and have fun.

- What roles would you like to see him play?
- Which of his characteristics, if any, make him the actor he is?

. I have only seen Jason Isaacs in one movie, or rather, series of movies: Harry Potter *CLOSING SEPTEMBER 8TH* Muggle Studies Discussion Class 436937

. In these moview, I think he is the PERFECT Lucius Malfoy, as I've always imagined him. He has unctuous, evil though not outwardly so, slithery Slytherin, and Lucius-ey down to an art. He is perfect to me, as I've already stated. The only thing that I think would make him better, would be if he was paired with the perfect Narcissa in the movies *CLOSING SEPTEMBER 8TH* Muggle Studies Discussion Class 436937

. And yes I know this is short, but I'll post again once I have more time and once I have done some more research.

I too have only seen him play one role and that is Draco Malfoy. I do think that he would be a great job playing Captain Hook. He just seems like that kind of guy who would do whatever he could to make himself seem more powerful or better than others. I would like to see him play a role of a supervillian. I think that he could pull it off

Although I've only seen him as Lucius Malfoy, I felt he particularly excelled in CoS and OotP. His quotation about dreams and reality in OotP in the Department of Mysteries is so insanely hott. I think he'd have done an amazing job in one of the star wars movies - if they ever did a remake I think he'd have made an excellent captain of the Death Star. He'd also be an awesome Senator Palpatine before his face got all whacked out. Definitely his sinister side and his ability to be evil and sexy simultaneously creates his signature as an actor.

Well me like June have not really seen him in anything other than Harry Potter but her was amazing at Lucius Malfoy not only did he look the part act the part it was like it was all natural to him. Of course that’s how actors are supposed to be but I think the part suited him well. I was also surprised to find out that the was the voice of Commander Zaho from avatar. Now not many people will watch this but it was quite surprising and I think he should be greatly praised for his voice talent. I would never have guessed in a million years that it was his voice. I would like to see him in a more adult based movie/ programme to see how his talents will show there.

Well, I've seen him in Harry Potter movies as Lucius Malfoy (duhh?), Peter Pan as Captain Hook and Friends with Money.

I have to say I liked him the most as Lucius. The character fits him perfectly. I would like to see more evil roles from him, you know, more murr-roles xD He didn't make such a big impression in me in the second movie, but as the character developed through the books, I kind of started to like him in the movies, too. In OotP he surprised me. I mean, he's always been a great actor, I know, but I never thought he would be that good. His voice is just amazing, like Alan Rickman's, I guess. Although, no one can beat Alan Rickman's smexy voice :D

Also, comedies. It would be fun to see him in a comedy, next to someone like Jennifer Aniston, or Jim Carrey, for example. It would be hilarious :D

Well, I've only seen him in HP movies but he's really good at the part - really in character and it fits him.

And I think he fits to be a 'villan' the most since he could really kind of talk like a villan and his whole look in HP as Lucius Malfoy looks real.

I too enjoy his acting in Harry Potter and Peter Pan and I also saw him in The Patriot with Mel Gibson where he was a "sadistic British officer", so of course he is fantastic at the not-so-nice roles. He was also in Black Hawk Down but besides the fact that he was a soldier, I can't recall what other qualities his character had.

He is very talented and I would love to see him in a comedy type role just to change it up since I have only seen him in intense roles.

So yeah, great actor...not to mention very attractive.

I have seen Peter Pan, though I don't remember him enough to say much. I thought he was perfect for Lucius Malfoy. He is amazing as looking down his nose at people with that sneer that makes you feel like ick on the floor. He portrayed a very good air of superiority and gives the sense that nothing can affect him. Though that image is shattered a little when Dobby overpowers him. He still manages to get up with dignity. He is an amazing bad guy and I would like to see him in more villian roles. He portrayed Lucius as someone who looked like they would have been at home in a nazi uniform, which was perfect.

well in i peter pan, u how peter and captan hook alwas have a conflict well i guess that can relate to the malfoy or lucius to harry ( harry of course peter pan ) but i still dont get why the whole peter pan thing got here. confused
