ROUND 1 : AUDITION (Hufflepuffs)

Here's my audition

mine is RPG plus some magic trick information


Dragon poked her head hesitantly through the curtains. The judges looked bored for some reason...probably because they didn’t have any smores yet. Mentally slapping herself for being distracted she double checked her supplies for the audition. Then she saw one of the judges, wearing some kind of wear looking wig (like the ones people wore in the 1800s) stand up with a clipboard. The judge seemed to be squinting at the list so to help him out Dragon ran out “I’m here!” she said in her best talk-to-judges voice.

Mr. Person-with-a-weird-wig frowned at her. “You’re Dragon?”

“Yes, sir” she said meekly pointed to the sticker that said: Hello My Name Is Dragon, that was stuck on her t-shirt.

“Uh, huh – you’re up next”

Dragon quickly ran back into the wings of the stage and pushed out her cart full of supplies. Clearing her throat she said “For the Talent Audition, I’m going do some magic tricks” She then quickly rummaged through a baby blue colored bag and drew out a blue scarf. “I’m going to perform 3 kind of magic tricks for my audition, for the first one, I’m going to need a volunteer”

In the back of the room, she saw that some kids had entered the room to watch the auditions, spotting someone Dragon pointed to one of them. “The boy in the red t-shirt, come on up!” Even though he ‘came’ with the crowd of kids, he really was an assistant that she had – but no one knew that. “What’s your name?” she asked in her most I’m-curious-about-who-you-are-voice mixed with I’m-innocent voice.

“I’m James” James said with the same tone that she had – they had practiced a lot for this – plus Dragon knew that she was going to pay him later anyways.

Handing him the scarf she said “Okay, James – cover your eyes with this scarf”

“Uh, huh”

“Can you see anything?”

“I see blue” he said in a fake monotone voice, earning a giggle from one of the judges.

“Okay, now I’m going to tie this around my eyes so I won’t be able to see, you are going to go around to the audience and get a random item from them and I’ll guess it right.” Dragon said tying the scarf around her head; she sat on a little stool. She then heard James clump down the stairs.

“Magician, guess what’s this” James voice rang out

Okay, first letter M… Think hard she said “Is it a mug?” She earned a grumble from someone “She must be peeking”

“Okay, fine, I’ll sit with my back facing you guys” Dragon said turning around.

James then inquired from below “Care to tell me what this is?”

Ah, the words Care and Tell, let’s see what starts with a C? Oh yeah, and Tell equals phone so it must be… “Cell Phone?” Dragon asked now earning a gasp from the crowd.

James told her “Okay, one more now, what am I holding?”

Okay starts with O…so it only can be… “Orange?” Dragon said and heard surprise murmurs among the audience

Untying the scarf she made a mock bow and said “Thank you James, now I will do my second act – it’s a card trick”

Drawing a deck of cards from her pocket she stepped down the stage and walked towards the judge table. “Watch closely” she held up a red nine of hearts then showed to everyone. Then she stuck the card into the deck and shuffled it. “Now watch this” she whipped out the nine of hearts again. She was proud to hear one of the older judges take her glasses off to clear them as if she couldn’t quite believe her eyes. “Okay now here’s a king of diamonds” and then she did the same thing she did with her ace. She could tell that some people were interested and amazed in this trick although the only she did was to put the card in specific spot, remember where it is and don’t shuffle that part. After lots of practice she could do all this really fast, making it looks like magic.
“Lastly I’m going to show you that sometimes, my pockets contain things you normally don’t see” She stuck her hands in her jeans pocket and pulled it out, showing the interior of the pockets, the white fabric part, was empty stuffing it back in, she said “Now, ladies and gentlemen, look at this” She plunged her hand in her right pocket and drew out a long string of handkerchiefs out of the empty pocket! Then pulling as she walked back onto the stage, she managed to pull the whole string out “Ah, there we go any one want a hanky? I don’t need this much.” She saw some kid wave from the back and tossed it to them, she could always replace it.

The trick she just did was simple, she had a hole in her pocket making it a pocket in a pocket, when she drew out the interior of the pockets, and she was grasping the hole of the other pocket. Then interior pocket was stuffed with the handkerchiefs that she had drawn out.

“And that concludes my audition” Making a bow, she smoothed out her nametag and she wheeled her cart back behind the stage. She could have sworn that Mr. Person-with-weird-wig was smiling and clapping at her…

well here's mine you may have to turn up the volume a bit if it doesn't work um...pm me or something...
