ROUND 1 : AUDITION (Groups)

Lifey paced back and forth backstage with Elana, Jenn, and Streamers, making sure her costumes where ready and doing a few vocal warm ups.


Streamers Elana Lifey Jenn

"Alright, we've rehearsed, we have an awesome act. Alright, we can do this!" She pulled her friends into a huge hug just as she heard their names called.

"This is it."


The four girls walked out composedly, faced the judges,

"Hello," Elana began,
"We're the PiCs" Jenn cut in,
"Partners in Crime," Streamers added.
"And we will be performing our very own rendition of the song Popular from Wicked." Lifey finished.

and they struck their beggining poses. Lifey gave a subtle flick of her wand and Spotlights came up. She waited with baited breathe as Elana opened.

(spoken)

Elana:
Elfie, now that we're auditioning for you, we've decided to completely astound you!

Jenn joined in quickly, just as rehearsed.


Jenn:
How are we going to do that?

Lifey felt her voice hitched a little, but she new her cue and her lines.


Lifey:
You'll see! It's what makes us so awesome!

Now Elana's clear voice began to sing and the girls all prepared themselves for the song.

(sung)

Lifey moved to the sighed as Elana took center stage.

Elana:
whenever i see a newbie, lost and alone
and let's face it, when aren't they hopelessly lost?
my tender heart tends to start to bleed

Elana turned away to give Lifey center stage. Lifey felt her legs shake, but she steadied herself as she began to sing in her happiest voice, following the dance steps and choreography.

Lifey:
and when someone is in ravenclaw,
i simply have to squee and fawn!
i know i know exactly what they need!

Jenn's Adorable voice took over and Lifey Elana and Streamers backed up her lyrics.

Jenn:
and even with our talent,
and it's the greatest that you've seen to date,
don't worry, we're certain everyone'll succeed,
come on- follow our lead,
and yes indeed, you will be....

The girls each took a collective breath. The first portion had gone off without a hitch!

As she heard Lifey pause dramatically, Jenn took a deep breath and pasted a smile on her face and jumped forward.

”POPULAR! i know about popular.
and with an assist from me,
to be who you'll be,
instead of dreary who you were...uh, are.
there's nothing that can stop you,
from becoming popular... lar... ”

Twirling back, she fell into place between Elana and Lifey and along with Streamers all took a step forward together. Jenn, mimicking everyone else raised one arm up, then the next and then stepped forward as they all sang.

”la la, la la!
we're gonna make you pop-u-lar!”

With a push, Jenn pushed herself out of the line as the others fell back. Pointing a wand at herself, her clothes turned to sweet blue and white good girl clothes. As she lifted up her left hand, she placed it on her forehead dramatically as she sang.

”when i see depressing creatures,
with unprepossessing features,
i remind them on their own behalf
to - think - of
our own elfie dumbledore
and the rest of the staff that we adore
did they have brains or knowledge?
don't make me laugh!
they were POPULAR!
please! it's all about popular.
it's not about aptitude,
it's the way you're viewed,
so it's very shrewd to be,
very very popular like ME!”

At the last me, she blew a kiss at the audience and curtsied before being jumped on by Streamers.

"Curtsying, eh?" Streams giggled and whacked Jenn playfully on the arm before twirling around, her pleated schoolgirl skirt swishing. Then she flicked her wand and grinned. Her plain brown hair was now highlighted and curling down her back, and she was dressed in pink. Lifey, Jenn and Elana all altered their costumes as well to varying shades of pink and red.



Elana straightened her tiara as she called out, "Why girls, look at us! We're nearly done!"

Then, in perfect unison, they all chimed, "So now you have to vote." Streams winked and shook her head, laughing as Jenn dropped into yet another curtsy. "Weren't we fantastic?" Jenn squealed happily. "Didn't you all just LOVE the show?"

Assuming a haughty expression, Streams shoved her away and they fell back to let her take center stage. Then she grabbed the mike and sang:

And those other acts
though talented, we guess

She sniffed airily, tossing her head into the air before she continued.

you know deep down inside...
we are gonna top 'em
and really gonna shock 'em!
ah!

Poufpuof, Streams' dog, yipped and frolicked about on the stage as Elana, Jenn and Lifey joined her again, all of them singing:

la la, la la!
they'll be popular
just not quite as popular as

"Me!" Lifey yelled, throwing her red-gloved hands wide.

"Me!" Jenn insisted, planting a boot down firmly.

"Me!" Elana cheered, blowing kisses and doing a little dance.

Streams raised her eyebrows, glaring at them all. "...Us?" she asked purposefully, and then burst out laughing.

"Oh yeah," Elana said, and blew a kiss at Streams, who stuffed it into her pocket.
