| LANGUAGES : Class 2 : Woof, Meow, Roar, Oink
It is not only humans who have their own languages, animals do too. Therefore, this class is dedicated to all those animals!
It is your task to create the basic words for an animal of your choice. Think carefully about the animal, the noise they make etc etc.
You need to provide a list of 20 single words, the English word followed by your chosen animals language.
Extra Credit 1: Provide 10 sentences set out as above, ie: English sentence followed by your animals equivelent.
Extra Credit 2 : Pretend you are a teacher and are teaching humans to speak your chosen animals language. Between 200-300 words, teach your 'class' the basics, with short explinations as to why and how to pronounce these words.
Extra Credit 3: Are you brave? Then record yourself speaking the language of your chosen animal. Use the words in the main part of this class. Remember to say the English equivelent before saying the animal word!
Possible Points: 150 Extra Credit 1: 150 Extra Credit 2: 250 Extra Credit 3: 400
Please remember to title each extra credit area. As long as you have done the first part you can do any amount of extra credit you wish.

"Now, try this: 'My water.'"
(headphones) SCREECH squirp

"See that, now? He's coming back to my shoulder. He doesn't trust you quite yet, but calling yourself 'friend' is equal to an apology. Lovebirds are never 'friends' they just bond with one mate. Companions, if you will. As you can see my little friend here is fine with that. Though of course, in a manner of speaking, I am actually his 'mate.' WHISTLE whistle SCREECH"

I feel sick. Maaaaa mmmmmmm. 9. I love milk ! Meow Purr Muaaaaaa ! 10. Hello friend ! Meee-owwwww waow !
Extra Credit 2: Meee-owwwwww ! Welcome to the first class of this term, where we will be learning how to speak the language of the Cat family. Now, regardless of what you may think, this is an extremely handy skill to have! So, on with the lesson!
This class will teach the basic wording of the Cat language with words based around the day-to-day life of a Cat. Words range from Hello to Goodbye, from food to milk and so on.
I greeted you all today with ‘Meee-owwwwww’ which simply means Hello. Try it after me – Meee-owwwwww. Good, good. As you can hear the word is said quite slowly with the ‘owwwwww’ lasting for roughly 6 seconds. The longer a word is sounded usually means that the Cat is happy or tired. Another example of this is the words for Tired and Sleep. ‘Mo-awoe’ is the word for Tired and is said very slowly, stressing the latter half of the word. ‘Mo’ is the simple word for Sleep and again is said very slowly. Let’s try reciting these three simple words – after me.
[The class follows suit and recites the words Hello, Tired & Sleep.]
Whenever a Cat is in trouble or agitated the words are usually sharp and quick, with a lot of ‘s’ sounding words floating around. For example, the word Enemy is pronounced as ‘Thsssss-rar.’ Try it.
[The class tries.]
Excellent! It’s a real hissing sound with all those ‘s’ in there! Another word is Alert, which is simply said as ‘Mur.’ Again, it’s quick, simple and straight to the point. Why don’t you try saying that?
[Again, the class follows tries saying the word.]
Very good! The last set of soundings we shall cover today is when a Cat is feeling playful and content. In this case there are a lot of ‘R’ sounding words. The word for play is ‘Wrar’ – even saying it sounds playful! Or what about toy? That sounds quite ‘rar-ish’ too – ‘Trawww.’ Or a simple ‘Purr’ is the word Love. Let’s try theses.
[The class again tries the words.]
Good good! Make sure to let the ‘R’s catch in the back of the throat as it gives it a really growly, neat sound. Anyway, that’s all for today’s class, hope to see you bright and early tomorrow when we will be covering proper sentences! Bye! Or should I say ‘Meoo!’ | |
