Hospital Wing

Holly nodded, serious for one of the first times in her life.

Holly bit her lip and glanced at Natalie, who was always better in these situations.
"Nerd.....,"

"I understand your pain...but keep in mind...you're lucky to have one of those," said Natalie, thinking of Holly.

"You're lucky to have a father," said Natalie, "I know it was him Emmalynn...I can see the pain in your eyes every time you talk to him."

"It can be easily confused!" Natalie yelled, "and it is not your father's choice what you do....it is your own! You have become trapped under your fathers control too long Emmalynn...and now it's time I told you...you are a big girl...but I'm sure you know that! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU WILL NOT STAND UP TO YOUR FATHER...AND I THINK YOU SHOULD, BECAUSE IF YOU DON'T, I WILL! THAT'S RIGHT! YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY?! 'CAUSE I CAN'T STAND TO SEE YOU HURTING LIKE THIS! BECAUSE EVERY TIME I SEE YOU IN PAIN IT MAKES ME WANT TO CRY! BECAUSE I'VE ALEADY LOST A FRIEND THROUGH DEATH, AND I DON'T WANT TO LOSE YOU TOO! BECAUSE I'D FIGHT TO THE DEATH TO SAVE YOUR LIFE!"

Holly swore quietly and tugged on Natalie's sleeve.
"Thats not what she needs to hear kid," she muttered, and made an apologetic look to Emmalynn before she added, "Its true though........,"

"I DON'T CARE! SOONER OR LATER SHE WAS GOING TO GET THIS! I CAN'T STAND THIS! I'M GOING TO THE COMMON ROOM...see you later Holly...I need to talk to Tiffany," said Natalie, going quiet and letting tears stream down her face. She raced out of the hospital wing, face in her hands.

"That was odd," Holly remarked quietly.

Emmalynn glared at her friend's back as she left. What did she know!? She assumed Emmalynn didn't fight back! That she took it passively! How dare she?! she thought scathingly.

Emmalynn turned her attention to Holly. "Are you going to assume things about my life now too?!" she asked, tears of sadness mixed with rage streaming down her face.

Natalie didn't stop running 'til she reach Gryffindor tower.

This is how the conversation went, though the others could not hear her.

"Tiffany?" Natalie said, walking into her dorm and sobbing.

"Sweetface...aw...sweetface...whats the matter?" Tiffany said as Natalie sat down on the bed.

"Emmalynn hates me....because...because...I sort of told her that she was lucky to have a father...and then she assumed I meant a father that b-b-beat her...and then we started yelling at each other...and then everything j-just went to pieces....whats wrong with me...why did I never think of my words before I say them?! I'm such a dose!" Natalie cried.

"Kid...you are not a dose...you are one of the smartest people...not including myself...that I know," said Chucky, walking over to Natalie. He had a look on his face like he was battling with himself and then said in a forced voice, "do you want me to give you a hug or something?"

"That would be nice," said Natalie.

'Oh crap...that's what I was afraid off...ok then...but I'll close my eyes....go on the kid, hug it out," sighed Chucky, closing his eye's tightly.

Natalie picked up her two dolls and hugged them, sobbing her heart out.

"There now...it's ok....there there," said Tiffany comfortingly, where-as Chucky had a look of total disgust on his face that said it all.

Natalie rocked back and forth.

"What it wrong with woman?" muttered Chucky, "they keep afairs quiet...they keep girly issues privite...but when it comes to tears...there is no shutting them up."

"No," Holly said instantly and honestly, "Im not like that......dont judge Nerd on that outburst....I dunno whats got inta' her.....just.....tell me about it if you want......,"

"Ok....now shut up....please.....please do," said Chucky, pulling away from Natalie, "PLEASE kid....let go...let.me.go!" Natalie released the dolls.

"Can we help in any way?" Tiffany asked Natalie, "because you know we're here anytime you need us sweetface."

"Thanks...but I d-don't think you can," said Natalie, fresh tears streaming down her cheeks, "Emmalynn is really scared of you guys."

"Well...then...we could....um....Tiff, got any ideas?" asked Chucky, a mixed look of pity and disgust on his face.

"no...but I'm still thinking..." said Tiffany, looking thoughtful.

Hayley cocked her head to one side, and sighed. "Sorry about her outburst, I think the stuff she said, was meant to come out...in a different way. But we need to sort this out," she said, her eyes slightly teary.

"Kinda," Holly said to loosen up the conversation.

Hayley jumped, as she heard Natalie scream, "Please, damnit, I'm sick of those bloody deatheaters!" she looked apologetically at Emmalynn, began to run, and soon enought she was in the Common Room, standing facing the deatheaters. "I suggest you drop your wand right now," she said, calmly, pointing her wand at the deatheater who was cursing Natalie. Sure enought he did so, and Hayley bent down beside Natalie. "Dude, you okay?" Not getting an answer, she stood up, and began to fight.

Natalie lay unconsious on the ground, barely breathing.

Emmalynn forgot her fight with Natalie for a moment and ran to the Gryffindor common room. She pulled out her wand and stunned half of the Death Eaters from behind. Walking to the front of the group, she faced them, glaring. She lifted up her sleeve to reveal the Dark Mark.

"You all know I'm working here. I know for a fact that the Dark Lord didn't send you. Leave now, or I'll kill you all," she said scathingly. They grumbled a bit before turning out the door. Emmalynn looked at Natalie, her annoyance at the girl coming back. She took a vial out of her pocket and opened it before she kneeled down next to her.

Natalie was still unconscious, breathing rapidly.

"Don't panic people!" yelled a shaking Chucky, "she'll be ok..."

"Whats up with Nerd?" Holly asked Chucky, glancing over.

"Oh...just that she's been crying for the last half hour about some fight she had...and then all these weirdo's came in and were all like 'oh look, it's the mud....whatever, and we have to call the dark person or something' and then it went dark and me and Tiff were shoved in a bag and we heard the kid scream so we know they were doing something to her," said Chucky, in a panicked voice that wasn't normally like him.

"It's ok sweetface," said Tiffany, ambling over to Chucky and pulling him into a hug, "you couldn't have done anything to help her anyway...she didn't have a chance to lift the spell off you....don't worry about Chucky by the way," she added, "he's just had a bit of a shock."

Shock was not the word for the look on Chucky's face.

"So this is what it must feel like for our victims just before we kill them," said Chucky in a quiet, sickly sort of voice, "shock at seeing dolls running at them with a knife or whatever."

"No...not really," said Tiffany, "that's not what it feels like sweetface...believe me...I know...you killed me, remember?"

"Oh yeah," said Chucky in a blank tone.

After a long silence, Natalie gave a little cough and awoke.

"W-what happened...where am I...?" Natalie said quietly. A feeling of nausia come over her, and she tried her best not to throw up. She spotted Emmalynn, and remembered.

"You'll be ok Em," said Natalie shakily, "I swear I didn't mean what I said in a bad way...I was just so angry with the way you're being treated...you don't deserve it." Natalie looked at the floor.

Holly sat on her knees next to the two and didnt say anything.

"Oh thank God...Thank God...she's awake....she's ok," said Chucky thankfully, "oh Natalie," he said, diving on her and giving her a hug, "I thought you might die...and I can't let you die....you're the first of my owner...guardian type people I have even like enough not to kill."

"Glad you ok sweetface," said Tiffany, also hugging Natalie and then pulling Chucky off her too.

Emmalynn looked blankly at Natalie. "I hope you're not allegic to any of the ingredients in Pepper-Up potion, 'cause that's what i gave you..." she said, standing up. She faced away from Natalie, Holly, and Nat's dolls.

"My father wanted a boy. He forced me to do many things that sucked away my childhood... Learn Latin and French, learn to write flawlessly, take piano and singing lessons, excel in school, and to hate Muggle-borns. He beat me regularly and I was sure it was always my fault. When I was six, I met my two best friends; Elladora and Catheryne. They made me realize that I didn't deserve what my father was doing. Ever since, I've tried to fight back. I've gotten out of the house whenever possible; staying at Sev's place, Elladora's, or the Burrow... But he has such a strong hatred for me, and he's more powerful... He's supposed to love me!" Emmalynn said, wrapping her arms around herself. "My mother is very skinny. She can't bare another child... He blames her and beats her as well... When Sev offered his home to me -when he offered to adopt me- I was so happy, but my father would not relinquish the right to torture me... I live at Sev's house now. I see him as my dad." Tears ran down Emmalynn's face silently as she walked out the door, back to the hospital wing. She needed bruise ointment...

Natalie burst into tears and hugged Emmalynn.

Then she pulled away and turned her back on her friend.

"You do know I'm muggle-born...don't you?" said Natalie, tear slidding down her face.

Hayley's eyes welled up as she looked at Emmalynn. "You don't deserve that," she said, sniffing, "Nobody does. So what are we gonna do about it?"

"You must let you help you Emmalynn...you must," said Natalie, still upset but determained.

Holly remained silent, admiring Emmalynn for her bravery, wanting to help her more than anything.

Holly glanced back to Natalie, wandering how she would answer, and hoping she wouldnt screw things up.
"She- she didnt mean anything," Holly said quickly, "Right Nerd?"

Hayley's brow furowed, and she bit her lip.

"I know that you don't care," said Natalie firmly, "it's just....your father might not be so please if he knew....if he knew you hang around with me."

"Are you saying she shouldnt?" Holly asked, confused as to what was taking place.

Jamie walked over to holly Natalie and Hayley...
"hey! how are you all?" he asked them

"Average," Holly said frowning at Emmlynn, "What about you?"

"whats up?" he asked Holly...

"Long story," Holly muttered, "I'll tell you outside, lets go J,"
She dragged him out, giving the others some time to talk.

Jamie waited to hear holly talk

"what wrong?" he repeated once outside the room

Natalie gave a little shiver and then a smile.

"Of course I still want to hang around with you Em," said NAtalie, smiling.

Jamie waited for Holly to reply to him...
"come on spit it out!" Jamie demaned

Natalie looked at Chucky and grinned evilly.

"You were scared I was gonna die...weren't you Chucky?" she said, smiling.

"No I wasn't...I just didn't want....well.....I wasn't sc- Ok...I was terrified...but you would have been too if you saw someone you cared about being tortured and you couldn't do anything to help," Chucky sputtered with a look of remorse.

Natalie smiled.

'You care about me? I didn't know that. I just thought you were being force to be nice by Tiffany," said Natalie.

"That's only half the story kid," said Chucky, smiling back.

Jamie looked the puppet and down through the door
"huh..."

"He thought I was goning to die," Natalie explained, "so he got all worked up and scared and he tried to help me...but of course he could kill anyone because the spell was still on him and I was being tortured, so I could really take it off him again."

"AND THE KILLER DOLL CARED?" asked Jamie making a big deal out of it...

"YES! I MAY HAVE CARED MOMENTARILY...THERE'S NO NEED TO YELL!" yelled Chucky.
