Hospital Wing

Emmalynn stared blankly at Natalie. "My father can go jump off a cliff for all I care. He stopped bothering to change my friends in first year. He..." she said, not finishing her sentence. She turned away and started to walk out the door.

"If you need more potion, I'll be in the hospital wing... I need some bruise ointment," Emmalynn almost whispered.

Holly nodded.
"Well thats basically all that happened," she explained to Jamie. The reason for her late answer was that she had seen a very nice looking Ravenclaw boy pass and he had grinned at her.

Natalie sat up a bit.

"Thank you Emmalynn," said Natalie, smiling at her friend.

"Thank you Emmalynn," Holly chorused, not sure why she was thanking her.

"You are thanking her for giving me the potion, silly," Natalie said, smiling at Holly, though the back of her head still throbbed terribly.

Phoenix limped into the wing and lyed on a bed.
"idiot" she muttered

"Yes Natalie is," Holly agreed without thinking, and then turned to see Phoenix lying on the hospital bed.
"Um......WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO YOU?" Holly asked scandalised.

"Dueling" she said, digging into her pocket looking for her wand.

Emmalynn shook her head at Phoenix. 'Always getting into trouble,' she thought. Then she grabbed some bruise ointment and walked to Phoenix.

"What's wrong with you?" she asked.

Natalie grinned.

"Who were you duelling? Did you win?" Natalie enquired, interested in the matter.

Phoenix looked at Emmalynn.
"Dueling" she said, she turned to Natalie "Nope nearly did"

Natalie smiled at Emmalynn.

"You'd make a good healer," said Natalie, smiling at her friend.

Shadow woke up from a deep sleep and looked groggily around.
"Ok, what happened?" She asked.

"Well...you sort of...fell asleep...like you'd been given a srong sleeping potion...though you hadn't really," said Natalie, "you look really pale Shadow...I think you need something to make you feel better."

"I feel like a heard of pegusi ran over me." Shadow muttered, sitting up slowly. "I can't think straight."

"Can you remember banging your head at all before you came here...or fighting off your demonic side....or duelling with anyone?" Natalie asked thoughtfully.

"I was in a battle in Synairn, and that's about all I remember." Shadow said, frowning.

"And then Raven brought you in because you got hurt," said Natalie, "and then you fell asleep...and you've been asleep for ages."

"I think I remember now..." Shadow said slowly.

Hayley cocked her head to one side, and said, "You okay Shadow," then realised this was probably a dumb question.

"That's a very good question, but I'm afraid that I don't know the answer." Shadow replied.

Hayley's brow furrowed. "Oh, oh well...um..." she trailed off, not really sure what to say.

Phoenix rolled her eyes at Emmalynn and looked at Shadow.
"Hey long time no see" she said smiling

"Hey Phoenix, how are you?" Shadow asked.

Phoenix sat up in her bed.
"Alright, i supposed but been better and how about you?" she asked

"Same." Shadow replied. She shook her head, trying to clear the fog clouding it.

Natalie, who had been listening to the conversation cut it, "Phoenix was duelling...and she nearly won," said Natalie, proud of her friend.

"Well done." Shadow said with a smile.

Hayley grinned at Natalie fondly.

Shadow fell asleep again.

Hayley looked at Shadow, and wondered how one person could sleep so much.

Raven hit her head off a wall.
"Sorry, I just saw that."

Hayley looked confused as Raven hit her head. "Um, why'd you do that?" she asked, again, confused.

"I'm not thinking straight, and my mind in wandering. It's already hard to keep the limits between my mind and everyone elses." Raven explained.

Hayley nodded. "Oh, okay," she said.

Emmalynn rolled her eyes at Phoenix. "Fine, I'll see what I can do for Shadow..." she said to Phoenix, thinking 'I like her more anyway'. She walked over to Shadow and took her pulse the Muggle way.

"Her pulse is normal," she said, leaning her head over her friend's face to listen to her breathing, "Breathing is pretty regular as well... We'll have to wait until she wakes up, but I'll keep checking her vitals."

Raven watched her sister worridly, chewing on her lip.

"She'll be ok...Shadow's a hardy, strong person...she'll get through this," said Natalie confidently and without fear.

"On the outside." Raven whispered.

Emmalynn heard Raven's whisper. She walked over and put a hand on Raven's shoulder.

"Believe in her. That's what she needs from you right now..." she said before walking back to Shadow's bedside.

"I told her not to go to the battle, but she disobeyed me..." Raven said.

Raven shook her head.
"I wasn't close enough to hear."

"Some form of faery." Raven said, trying to think of the battle.

"Sorry, I just know how to kill them. Shadow's the one who's gone through medic training." Raven said, putting her head in her hands.
