Potion Teacher's office

Shadow had been hiding behind a suit of armor just by the potions master's office, she noticed Oddie running somewhere and sent a bolt of magic along the ground, tripping her. She ventured out from her hiding place to confront the girl.

Holly who was waiting on Snape for detention, looked up sharply.
"What are you doing?" and then suddenly wished she hadnt said anything, because all of the people concerned, were quite a bit older than her.

Shadow looked up at the newcomer, eyes slightly narrowed.

Natalie came in, as she had to ask Professor Snape about the homework assignment they had been set. She looked around the dimly- lite office with an expression on her face that suggested disgust. Then she saw Holly, and beamed.

"Oh, thank Goodness....thank GOODNESS," said Natalie, "I didn't think you'd be here.....did you get detention? I though you could widdle your way out of anything....I guess not Snape then?"

"Wait a minute..." Shadow said slowly, "You know this person?"

"Yes," said Natalie, "I know Holly from my non-magical days, and if I know her, she will find a way to get out of this on, won't you Holly?"

"Right..." Shadow said doubtfully. "This is Snape we're talking about."

"Oh.....Severus Snape....I only know him from teaching me potions," said Natalie, embarrased that she'd got things mixed up.

"No, I meant that I doubt that Holly will be able to wiggle out of a detention with Snape, no matter how good she is." Shadow said.

"Oh," said Natalie, slowly she was growing a shade of mauve with intense embarrasment. She quickly changed the subject.

"Do you know where Snape is?" she asked hopefully.

"Nope sorry." Shadow said, shrugging apologetically.

"It's ok," said Natalie.

Holly, watching the two converse, decided to speak up.
"I'll try with snape, i am quite good at getting around trouble...but Im doubtful as you Shadow....so...what was everybody doing in this corridor anyway?"

"No idea, I was walking around, trying to clear my head." Shadow said, shrugging.

"I dunno, I was just coming down here to look for Snape, ask him about the homework and what not," said Natalie

"Hm. I dont do homework.....usually.....maybe thats why im in detention....again....," said Holly.

"Oh...Holly," said Natalie exasperatedly, "and your only in first year too."

"Yeah...so-"
Holly stopped. There had been a disturbance behind them. It was Snape.

"Oh arias..." Shadow muttered, seeing Snape.

"Miss Bristol," said Snape in a silky tone, "I assume you know why your here...but why are the rest of you here"?

"Oh, I'm here professor because I wanted to ask you....well you see....you only asked us to do about bezours and where they came from...but I was wandering....can I do about there properties too...and don't worry, it will be on a different length of parchment than the other bit." said Natalie in a rush, as Snape made her nervous.

"Do what you want Miss Patterson, but I assure you, I will only read the part that is needed...which is exactly the reason why Miss Bristol is here, because she finds herself too high up on the hierarchy to complete even her set homework, isn't that right Bristol?" said Snape in the same tone.

Shadow grimaced slightly after pulling her hood over her face. Ouch, talk about sarcasm! She thought.

"Umm maybe?" Holly asked, not quite sure what the question had been, "So, detention now aye?"

"Holly" said Natalie warningly.

"Don't push your luck Bristol," said Snape, his eye's flashing dangerously.

Shadow narrowed her eyes.
"Leave her alone." She said.

"Yeah....she's only a first year," Natalie put in, "she doesn't know who she's dealing with!"

"Oh, I think she does," said Snape in a dangerous sort of voice, "and I suggest you two hold your tonges, or you'll both be in detention!"

"Make me!" said Natalie, surprising herself. She had never spoken back to anyone before, let alone a teacher.

"I'll put you down for a detention too then, Miss Patterson...and 10 points from Gryffindor I think....each." Snape smiled, his eye's twinkling.

Natalie scowled.

"Good," she said. She would rather be detained with Holly rather than have her be picked on by Snape, and she couldn't help privately thinking to herself "Oh yeah Snape, you got told!"

"Thats another five points from Gryffindor," said Snape.

"What?" said Natalie. Surely he couldn't have read her mind.

"Natalie, yes he can read your mind." Shadow whispered to her before turning her attention back to Snape. "What have you got against the Griffindors anyway?"

"It's not Gryffindor's Miss Roth...it's just the ones who think they can get away with everything in life, and it may have escaped your notice, but I have threatened you with a detention too, so hold your tonge," said Snape in a creepily smooth voice which drifted around the dungons even after her had stopped speaking.

"Shadow...please don't...I don't want to get you into trouble too," said Natalie, tears of anger shining in her eyes.

Shadow smiled slightly.
"He doesn't scare me, he just likes to push those smaller than him around. I highly doubt that he's willing to pick a fight with me."

Natalie giggled, but sensed Snape's stare and quickly shut up.

Shadow rolled her eyes in Snape's direction, shaking her head.

"Thanks for sticking up for me," Holly nodded in thanks to Shadow, "And you Natz. We're friends right?"

"Welcome." Shadow said in reply.

"Yeah," said Natalie smiling,"best friends."

Holly grinned.
"Heehee," she said, "Wanna give Snapers some pay back?"

"Yeah....ready....let's go bother him, kay?" said Natalie hopefully.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you, he's already in a foul mood." Shadow warned.

"Mmm, well im up for anything. You with me Natz?" Holly asked, giving her friend the puppy dog eyes.

"Yeah, lets go bother Snape," said Natalie.

She walked up to Snape.

"Um sir........Bother bother bother bother bother bother....help me Holly!" said Natalie

"What are you little pipsqueeks doing!!!" shouted Snape.

"BOTHER BOTHER BOTHER BOTHER BOTHER! HEEHEEHEE!" Holly said.

"That's it, no more Mr Nice Snape.....DOUBLE DETENTIONS FOR BOTH OF YOU!" yelled Snape.

"Aw man detention?" Holly moaned, "I dont have anytime for detention! I have like three million homeworks to hand in! Aaaand I have a social life to unhold....like...with all three of my friends...,"

"Yeah.....cut us a break please....so were Gryffindor's, big woop!" said Natalie fiercely.

"Not. Another. Word." said Snape, face pallid with anger.

"GO GO GRYFFINDOR GO GO GRYFFINDOR!"

Natalie joined in with Holly.

"I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!" Roared Snape, "Get.Out."

"FINE!" Holly yelled, took Natalie by the arm, and left.

"See ya....Snape-a-doodle," said Natalie, and left with Holly.

Holly giggled from the doorway, rather hyper, as if she had had several slushies, when in fact she had had just three.
