Chaser Training

Alice watched from the ground as Dragon tryed a tricky move. At first, Alice thought Dragon had dropped the quaffle but then realised it was resting on her foot. Alice saw Dragon kick the quaffle and wondered why she did so, was it more effective than throwing???

Rista watched Dragon as well. "Wow, that was a really good shot!" She exclaimed.

"Hi", Alice said to Rista,"Do you know why she kicked it instead of throwing it?"

"Yes" Alice replied."Good job, Dragon. But I was wondering why you kicked it instead of throwing it?"

Dragon caught the quaffle as she flew around the hoops an flew back to where Stephy and Alice was talking. Nearing them she heard her name being spoken and arrived just as Alice asked her a question. "Oh, it a move that the Hufflepuff team thought of to trick the keeper so it'll be easier to score." she told the girl.

"Oh... Well it worked! And it looked pritty good too", Alice smiled.

"Thanks," Dragon told Alice, "Do you need any help? Or do you want to give scoring a try."

"Way to go Dragon. That was a pretty impressive move. I wouldn't have thought of doing something like that," Rista said.

Ummm... I'll try scoring, Alice replied, picking up her broom,"Ready Stephy?"

Alice nervously mounted her broom and kicked off. Despite the fact she was shaking slightly she felt stedier than she thought she would. Alice flew towards the hoops with the quaffle under her arm. She flew directly at the left hoop but at the last moment, aimed the quaffle at the right hoop. Alice had to lean back to throw the quaffle and this nearly unseated her but she managed to keep her grip before turning around to see if her shot had made it.

"Umm... Yes please," Alice replied, growing more confident. She smiled to herself as a brilliant plan came to mind.

Alice flew up to the goal posts and readied herself. Clutching the quaffle, she flew slightly too fast towards the goals. Once she was within scoring distance she quickly braked and threw herself off her broom, clutching on with only one hand. Just as she hoped, stephy reacted thinking she had fallen. Tacking advantage of the distraction, she aimed the quaffle at the hoop hoping that stephy would be too preocupied with her 'fall' to notice the ball leave her arms. Alice waited for a second before pulling heself back onto her broom. It was harder than she thought it would be, but she managed. Alice then turned to see the result of her atempted score.

Meanwhile, Jamie came and saw there were a few students on the field and she thought she was late. She ran up, grabbed a broom, and mounted off.
She went over by Stephy and asked, "Did I miss anything?"
Stephy replied, "No, but you are late." Thinking, Stephy then said, "Please show Alice the proper way to mount, get ready, and then take off."
Reluctantly, Jamie went down to the ground. She said, "Alice, come over here please."
Alice came and watched as Jamie showed her how to use her broom.
"First, You have to swing your leg over the broom like so.* swings leg over broom* "Then you have to get into a croutched position like so." *does position* "Finally, you have to get a good kick off and then push yourself up like so." *kicks off*

Dragon hovered inches away from the ground (as instructed) to help Alice if necessary. But it looked like Alice had many techniques that she used and scored not once but twice! Her eyes wandered the the ground where she saw a Ravenclaw, Jamie, appear on the field. She landed on the ground and walked towards the new student to say 'Hi'

Alice smiled at stephy's words. She then landed rather roughly to greet the new student.

Rista went over to Alice. "Way to go! That was really excellent," she said clapping her hand on Alice's shoulder.

Alice smiled again. "Thanks," she replied,"But I dont think it would work in a real game, the other team would be happy if they thought I fell off".

"Honestly, I am impressed. That move takes guts," Pamela said, slightly in awe.

Alice smiled again, less than keen to admit it, she probably wouldn't have tried that if stephy hadn't asked dragon and rista to be ready to catch her. But was happy that it had worked all the same.

Alice decided to give somebody else a turn and sat down on the grass to watch.

Dragon glanced around and the group then spoke up, "Er, if anyone doesn't mind, can I go?" she asked and looked at the new student, Jamie, to see if she wanted to give it a try. Juggling the quaffle between her hands, she waited for an answer

"Go on, dragon!" Alice replied, from the grass where she was sitting. Smiling she wished dragon good luck.

Dragon swifted the quaffle to the grap of her right hand and with the left hand on the broom, she rose up in the air while thinking of a plan to score.''How about a simpler one this time'' she muttered to herself and flattened herself on the broom. She took off as fast as she could and when she was about 3ft away from the hoops she did a simple loop in the air - like a tumble on the ground (like the ones gymnastics do) and in mid tumble she let the quaffle fly and watch it go near the left hoop...

Alice watched dragon do a sort of tumble thing in mid air. "Whoa!" she exclaimed under her breath as dragon shot the quaffle at the left hoop. Alice was aware that everyone's eyes, including her own, were watching as the quaffle zoomed nearer and nearer to the hoop.
