Christmas Dinner Menu Challenge

The Hogwarts House Elves have no ideas for the Christmas feast this year, so it is down to you to think up a menu.

You should give three choices for Starter, Main Course and Dessert, providing a description for each dish.

The more creative the better!

Points:
1st place: 100 housepoints
2nd place: 80 housepoints
3rd place: 60 housepoints
All who enter: 30 housepoints

A Hogwards Christmas
Menu

Starters
Homemade Minestrone Soup V
Served with a freshly baked bread roll
Salmon & Prawn Fishcake
Served on a bed of fresh leaves accompanied by a lemon dill crème fraiche
Smoked Duck with a Raspberry Vinigarette
On a bed of fresh leaves

Main Courses
Traditional Roast Turkey with Oatmeal Stuffing
Accompanied by all the seasonal trimmings
Herb Wrapped Medallions of Scottish Beef in a Red Wine Sauce
Served with roasted potatoes and roasted seasonal vegetable
Roasted Bell Pepper stuffed with a Vegetable & Herb Couscous V
Presented on a bed of saffron risotto & finished with parmesan shavings

Desserts
Traditional Christmas Pudding
Served warm with custard
Selection of Luxury Icecreams
1 scoop each of Vanilla, Strawberry & Cream & Honeycomb Harvest luxury icecream
Raspberry Cranachan
Fresh raspberries in whipped double cream with a drop of Drambuie, honey & oats served with shortbread

Starters

Salty Pixie Eggs
Cooked in hot oil and rolled in salt

Squib Soup
Cooked in hot water with aromatic herbs and sided with vegetables

Pumpkin Pastries
Cooked in peanut oil and rolled with sugar

Main Courses

Dragon Chaux
Roasted Dragon Meat with potatoes dipped in hot sauce

Veggie Smile
Magical grown vegetables sided with 4 different sauces (hot, mustard, barbecue, bitter-sweet)

Smacked Cod
Boiled cod fish with smacked potatos roasted in salt

Dessert

Elves Presents
little chocolate bombons of several flavours, some good some a little revenge from the House Elves

Mince Pies
with drops of Felix Felicis

Surprise Cake
White chocolate with Bertie Botts Magical Beans

Drinks

Christmas Dinner 2007: Inspired by Helga Hufflepuff

Starters: (All starters served with your choice of Toasted Garlic Bread, Flickering Breadsticks or Cinnamon Raisin Bread.)

Dragon Flame-Grilled Vegetables:
Slices of mushroom, peppers, asparagus, carrots, squash, and eggplant, grilled to the utmost perfection and flavored with salt, pepper, olive oil and garlic.

Giant Squid Shells:
An assortment of cheeses and hot pepper sauce brings out the delicate flavor of the crabmeat and shrimp as they rest in pasta shells.

Helga's Special--Orange Mince Pie:
This sweet mincemeat pie is baked in a pastry crust and generously flavored with cinnamon and orange zest.

Main Course: (Served with your choice of Rosemary Mashed Potatoes, Garlic Parmesan Yams, or Yorkshire Pudding.)

Godric's Roast Leg of Lamb:
Succulently roasted, this lamb is packed with delicate flavor and lies beside steamed peas and carrots.

Salazar's Pork Chops:
These gingered pork chops, baked until perfection in pumpkin juice, make for a splendid dish. A splash of brandy will keep the fairies hovering about!

Rowena's Roasted Chicken:
Tender and moist, this buttered chicken will practically melt in your mouth. Roasted with strips of bacon to ensure the best flavor possible and seasoned with salt, pepper and thyme.

Desserts:

Niffler Chocolate Trifle:
Chocolate pudding, candy and cake combine with whipped cream in a simulataneous burst of flavor, yet retain a light, airy sweetness. Served with raspberries and strawberries.

Irish Apple Crumble:
This tart confection is flavored with cinnamon and coconut for a unique taste. Served with your choice of hot custard or ice cream.

Sparkling Strawberry Cheesecake:
The creamiest, prettiest cheesecake you'll ever experience. Baked in a shell of graham cracker crumbs with strawberry sauce swirled on the surface.

Drinks:

You can choose from our wide range of whiskeys, dry and sweet wines, beers, cocktails, punch, smoothies, pumpkin juice, butterbeer, egg nog, egg cream, or lemonade. Fresh ice water will of course always be available. You can ask for a complete (alcoholic) drinks list if you are of age.
