Cancer, The Crab, is the sign of the protector or the parent. Cancerians tend to be very emotional people. Although they fear of being hurt and are naturally defensive, cancerians never doubt to put their whole hearts and souls into a relationship and are loyal, loving and faithful partners.

The bright side of being born under the Cancer star sign is that they are very sympathetic, kind and very protective to the people surrounding them. They have the urge to nurture and protect all those they love. Although Cancerians have these soft spots they also have their hard ones too for sometimes, they can be self-assured and shrewd.

Cancerians are also naturally imaginative and resourceful. They know when to ask help and reach out to other people and when to just keep their problems on their own. Some other traits Cancerians are known for are maternal/paternal, cautious, patriotic, tenacious, thrifty, resourceful, a good homemaker.

Like everyone else, Cancerians do have a dark side. They tend to have an inferiority issue. Any hurt that is done to them is brooded upon at length. They find it hard to let go of certain things in their past and they can be very possesive. Most of them are often conservative in thinking but they do not shut their doors for good change. Some not-so-desirable Cancerian traits are over emotional, hypersensitive, moody, devious, changeable, self-pitying, unforgiving, unstable, gullible, and untidy.

Cancerians are compatible with fellow cancerians as well as those who have Taurus, Virgo and Scorpio as their Star signs. They are said to have absolutely no chance with Pisces, Sagittarius, Libra, Gemini, and Aries. Their complete opposites are the Carpricorns.

Some popular Cancerians are Ernest Hemingway, Rose Kennedy, Helen Keller, Gina Lollobridgida, George Orwell, Rembrandt, Nelson Rockefeller, Ginger Rogers, Linda Rondstadt, and Ringo Starr.
