So I finally finished Blue Bloods (By: Melissa De La Cruz) which was a mediocre read to say the least.

(But I highly recommend the series LoL - Read on to see why)

I kept on having to stop reading and look up the clothes that they were talking about. I'm guessing since Melissa De La Cruz has worked as a fashion columnists for big name magazines she just expects everyone to know what she's talking about when she's referring to specific items made by big name designers.

~But the book did get better once I put the characters of Gossip Girl and the way they dress on the show to the characters in the book ha-ha~

But the ending made me and my neurotic self have to read the follow up Masquerade which I'd actually highly recommend.

~Seriously it took me all of 4 hours to read the 2nd book, where it took me almost 2 days to read the first one.~

But of course there is the task of making it through the first book which in my opinion = blah. (I highly stress the word opinion on that)

Warning for those who hate not being able to finish a series:In typical fashion I am now stuck at a waiting point for the next book to come out. As always my horrible luck would have it that the next book wont be released until Fall of 2008.

(That makes 5 series that I am now waiting on fall to get the next installment *grrr*)

So has anyone else read this series? And am I the only one who didn't really like the first book?

I totally agree on the first book. It was just... not... that... good... haha The Blood Bloods Series 436937

I actually knew the clothes that they were talking about... My fashion interest is finally paying off! YES!

And I totally agree about the whole Gossip Girl thing! Throughout the whole book, I was picturing the actress who plays Blaire as Mimi and the actress who plays Jenny as Bliss... even though the two look NOTHING like how the characters are described in the book... haha

But the plot line and how some of the characters were developed was just not fluid at all. But I still finished this book within a day The Blood Bloods Series 436937
