| I thought I would make this class more interesting since the new term has began. What you need to do is create your very own broomstick. You will need to state its properties such as what its made off, how fast it goes, what type of grip does it have, how does it handle in different weathers.. etc. Should be able 200 words

| Design Your own broomstick
The Keepers Ride
This broomstick is specially designed for the keeper with its rubber handle there for gripping purposes it enables the keeper to have a great firm one handed grip on the broom ready to catch the quaffle. The foot pegs placed on the side are there for the resting purpose of legs though the hooks have been put more at a slant to enable the legs to come of more easily if the keeper wishes to kick the quaffle away from the scoring area. Though the main feature of this broom is that the tail has been made more flat. This makes it easier for the keeper to smack the quaffle with the tail of the broomstick with this added feature. The flatness of it means that a wider space has been enabled to make it easier to defend with the tail end of the broom. With the tail end has been added a small orange rubber area which has been made extra bouncy so that hitting it with any part of the rubber will mean that it will be moved further away from the goals making it have a less chance of a second try straight after defending the goal. The rubber has also been made water proof so can be used in all weathers through in many hot seasons the rubber may rub on the hands so it is advised that you keep your keeper gloves on. This oak made keepers broom can get to 100 miles per hour in up to 15 seconds which is a remarkable time enabling the keeper to have an excellent chance of saving the goals. (272)
RPG of the broom
Polly walked into the Ravenclaw changing rooms her new broom in hand. It had been a late Christmas present from her aunt who had been travelling in America. The broom was specially designed for the keeper with rubber handles and a flatter tail. Stroking it lightly Polly walked out onto the pitch. The cheers came around her as she kicked of the ground and soared to the Ravenclaw goal posts. It was the first time Polly had ever been on the broom and she noticed immediately the benefits of the rubber grip it enabled her to make her grip less tight grip. This was a great benefit to her as after most matches Polly’s hands had hurt from how hard she had been gripping. The broom was just as fast as her old one and the speed had faired great throughout the last term and with the added features Polly felt hopeful and excited about the match like never before. Shifting her bum slightly she watched as the Hufflepuff chaser began to make her way towards her the quaffle was being passed between all three of the now faster than ever before it wizzed between their hands in the blink of an eye shaking her head slightly she noticed that the chaser on the left was slightly forward than the others and it made Polly wonder if she was the one who was going to enter the scoring area. She was right as she came into the scoring area and shot the quaffle towards the left hoop Polly did an upside down turn before smacking the quaffle with the tail end of her broom. ‘Yes’ she cried as the quaffle flew almost to the middle of the picth. | VinylStar DescriptionYou have chosen the most comfortable upright broom on the market today. It's designed to keep the user in a comfortable upright position throughout the ride. This phenomanal broom has a unique style, better for speed and lightweight. The speed travels from 0 to 100 in a matter of seconds and it's speed adjuster manages automatically on the way you sit on the broom. The Ribbed Vinyl grip implanted in the VinylyStar is great in rainy weather when the water usually causes riders to lose their grip on the broom easily. The Knee Pegs was a last minute fix. It allows the rider to bend their kness around it for a more sturdy balance and efficency on tricks and spins. The Ergonomic Bend makes the handle more comfortable and easy to maneuver. The foam grip provides better hand placement and increases blood flow to the fingers. The Sunken Seat is a more easier to mount and get off and to attract speed and do sharp turns, it also is capable two to three passengers and you are able to maintain it's speed on how you sit. It handles real well in all types of weather, but more so in rainy and windy weather. Although, in extremely hot weather the Vinyl grip can get rather hot so I placed a cooling adjuster when rises above temperature, the Test Run It was a pretty nice day, the sun was out, but partially covered by the greyish clouds forming around it. Priscilla had worked on her phenomenal design of a new line of broomstick, hopefully the unusual bend and struture would catch the consumer eyes. Unfortunately, before she could get it onto shelves, a test run was a must and although she'd rather someone to take it for a drive, it was her inventions and it was her priority to make sure all it's gears and power were accurate. So, strapping into her flying gear and tying up her hair, Priscilla took the Vinyldasher, holding it delicately and headed outside of her home. Striding into the middle of her yard, she took a deep breath and mounted the broom. Like a blur it dashed towards the sky, it felt as though she were speeding through time at the rate she was going. Slowly easing bakwards onto her sunken seat, the broom slowed down as well and instead floated through the air like a feather caught in the wind. Priscilla rounded her back yeard, making sharp breaks and turns, performing tricks and loops and almost fell off her brooms, but the knee pegs proved useful and helped her balance. As she landed and leapt off the VinylStar, she smiled at the onlooking agents aligned by her house, clapping on her show. She bowed dramtically and ran towards the house as the agents ran after her waving high prices and bids for her broom. Broom

Made of sturdy oak that has been charmed in many ways-which will be explained later-to ensure the effectiveness of the model, the Sunburst is a broom for the witch or wizard for any day.
In an incredible break through in broomstick technology, the Sunburst is able to reach speeds of mach 5. That’s fast, people. If you’re worried about your child’s safety, have no fear, that’s been included in the design as well. A parental control, located at the top of the broom tail, allows the parents to control the speed their little Quidditch star will be able to reach, so there’s no danger of them crashing into the apple tree, house, or pets.
Afraid you’ll slip off the broom while reaching those powerful speeds? That has been thought of as well. The chestnut grip has been spelled to help you hold on as long as you need to. There’s no falling off of the Sunburst. Through all weathers you’ll be flying steady. It won’t get burdened by snow, wiped out by wind, ravaged by rain, assailed by hail, hurled by hurricanes, tossed by tornadoes, or impeded by any other weather you could possibly encounter. All of these spells and charms are designed in the tail, which has extra sensory charms in there to detect the kind of weather you’re flying in, and to help it fly as steady as possible. There has even been a lightning block added, just in case. Purchasing the Sunburst will not leave the buyer disappointed, and best of all…it’s affordable! Buy one now!

Excitedly, I sprinted outside, clutching my 10th birthday present in my hand. My parents had finally caved in and bought me a broomstick, which was quite a feat considering they were muggles. I supposed they had ordered it via Owl Mail, but that didn’t matter right now. What mattered right now was that I was finally going to get to fly a broomstick! And not just any broomstick, they had gotten me the Sunburst, the one I had a poster of in my room and practically worshipped daily.
Finally, I reached the enclosed area in the back of the woods of my house where I had often went as a child to practice magic, excited and uncertain what this meant. Now I knew that it meant that I was a witch, and would, next year, be allowed to go to Hogwarts-Hogwarts!-and learn how to harness my powers. Breathless, I stopped and took a deep breath, the hands that held the broom shaking in excitement. I mounted it, and after another quick deep breath, kicked off.
“Wooohooo!” I shouted excitedly as I sped at incredible speeds around the enclosure. I didn’t know how fast I could go, but apparently they had stopped it from being able to go to full mach 5 via the parental control. It really didn’t matter, because I had the broom, it was the broom I wanted, and it was a dream to fly.

| Millennium Description The Broomstick will be suitable, even for newbies. It'll 've Rubber coated handling for both firm grip and insulation (as in most of Broomstick, they usually become static when it is in Sun light for long time, so it could stun the user). It's weight is less than 3 KG, which is to ensure that it won't be blown away by a gust. It speed will be averagely 500m/s and it could accelerate up to 300m/s within first 3s. Dun have to worry about thieves as it has permanent tracing charm as well as, the owner can summon it even it's across the Ocean (unique summoning spells each have) . It has anti-spell charm field around it so, it can resist any spell or magic damage. It has got built-in Speed-O-Meter and Compass which will just appear as images and words between the two handles. The Handle style and mode can be modify as the users will. Dun forget one important thing, most broomsticks can easily catch fire, but this one 've fire-proof charm placed. For Newbies and kids (3 years + ), there is a function on this broom to enable the user to configure the Max.Speed, Acceleration and height above the ground. And the price is reasonable. Every Wizards and witches across the world should own this sort of broomstick. | |

| THE NIGHTRIDER 3000- A REAL GRYFFINDORS BROOM!!Look out Firebolt, Theres a new broom in town. The Nightflighter 3000 is the new fastest broom ever made. Reaching speeds of 240 mph in in under 2.2 seconds...it can indeed go even faster than that....do you dare push it to its limits. The broom is made of pure oak, with a handle of chestnut wood (ingraved with the name of the broom). The handle has a powerful gripping spell to help you hang on while going at break neck speeds (only works while your in the air), and will help you turn the broom with your lightest touch. This broom can be set to different modes of floght by twisting the handle (starter, Trainer, Referee, Seeker, Keeper, Chaser, beater and DAREDEVIL) AND it has different settings for different weathers and times of day. You are sure to get the ride of your life. It has a sunken seat with a very powerful cusioning charm placed on it. But....do YOU want to know what makes this brilliant broom have the ability to go so fast. Easy...it has unicorn hairs and phoenix feathers woven into the magically straightened twigs on the tail of the broom.....AMAZING...ITS JUST LIKE MAGIC. It also has a collapsable kick-stand-simply to keep the Nightrider 3000 from flying away....and believe me, once that happens, you won't be able to catch it!!! TRIAL RUNNatalie swung her leg gingerly over her new broom, the Nightrider 3000. She had the broom set to starter mode, and she could feel it vibrating under her. She kicked of hard from the ground. The broom soured into the air so fast she nearly forgot to keep a tight grip of the handle, which was ok, because it felt like her hands were glued onto the handle. She felt the hair stand up on the back of her neck. The air rushed past her. She was as fast as a bullet. She turned to broom to the right, then the left, and she found that it turned at her lightest touch. She wanted to woop for joy. She felt lighter than air. She felt like there wasn't even a broom under her, like she was flighting...without wing. The pupils below her looked on in envy, but a few of her fellow Gryffindors put there thumbs up at her and shouted, "Can we have a go after you!!" She had never owned anything magical in her entire life before (she's muggle born) let alone a broomstick like this. She didn't want to land, but, alas, the bell rang signaling the end of lunch. She dived down to the ground so fast that she hopped off the broom just in time to land on her own to feet. "What an amazing broom," she said to herself DIAGRAM...SWEET!!!

Invented by Stephy and Polly it took only one try for these two to create the perfect broom. It is make out of pine and has many different spells placed on it that give it all of the qualities that a qudditch broom needs. The top speed is unknown because no one has yet to determine it. There are still many tests going on but researchers think that the top speed might be around 900 mph. On the handle there is a rubber grip on it that makes it so that the rider will have a tight grip on the broom at all times. The broom also has a weather spell placed on it that makes it so that the rider is not affected at all by the weather. It could be raining and the rider would not be bother by the rain. Instead a shield will form around them making it so that they will not get wet at all. If it is windy they will not feel any breeze, and if it is sunny their eyes would not be affected at all by it’s rays. The broom also has an anti-jinx charm placed on it that cannot be broken. Many have tried to get past this safetly feature but none have yet to do it.
RPG
“Okay lets test it now Polly” Stephy shouted as she ran out onto the field holding her broom as she did so. Stephy quickly jumped on it and kicked hard off of the ground soaring high into the sky.
“Be careful Stephums” Polly shouted back “This is our first broom that we ever made and it might have some bugs.”
“Don’t worry about it, Ill be fine” Stephy said as she flattened herself against her broom quickly accelerating. Within seconds she must have been going over 200 mph and she righted herself up again not wanting to keep going faster. Stephy then did a few loops before returning to the ground and handing the broom off to Polly. “I don’t see any problems with it.” She said. Polly nodded and jumped on the broom herself and tested it out too. Stephy watched her try to find it’s top speed that Polly stopped at the same speed that Stephy did. She then too did a few loops and then came back to the ground.
“I don’t see nothing wrong with it either” Polly said.
“We are going to make millions with this broom!” stephy exclaimed. Graphic[/color]

| The Raven's Choice 2008: Brought To You By Vanilla Coke Part OneYes, I know what you're thinking - what is a soda company doing creating broomsticks? Well, an odd little-known fact is that Vanilla Coke is an (unofficial) sponsor of the Ravenclaw Quidditch team. It's kept under wraps by the wizards in charge, of course, because of the company's involvement with Muggles as well as the Wizarding World. However, knowing the Ravenclaw team's liking of the soda, they decided to branch out and become their sponsor. This is their first broomstick, and hopefully many more will come after it - after all, who wouldn't love a broom that the acclaimed Ravenclaw Quidditch team uses? You may have noticed its unique coloring - it's Ravenclaw themed, of course! But looks aren't everything, even though its styling does give a hint at the incredible broomstick that it is. The Choice is made of the finest sturdy oak to keep its stability and shape for years. It, of course, has a cushioning charm along the second half of the broom for its rider's comfort. It also has a grippy texture near the tip, proven to be a much more effective non-slip grip than most brooms that are currently used. Safety is key when riding, and The Choice is one of the safest out there. It can fly steadily through wind, snow, and rain, but don't try taking it out during a tornado. And as for speed - how does 0 - 60 in 3.5 sound? (241) Part TwoThe new broomsticks had arrived! Along with the rest of the team, Elana had trooped out to the pitch to be there for the test run of The Raven's Choice '08. She couldn't believe their luck - of all the teams to sponsor, Vanilla Coke had chosen them! Maybe Kate, a long time lover of the drink, had worked a wee bit of magic into the agreement - but that didn't matter, they had new brooms! For FREE! Their brooms were individually boxed, their numbers and names on the outside so that the delivery guys could hand the right broom to the right player. As her box was handed to her, Elana gave the delivery guy a smile and raced with the box into the pitch. A few of her teammates had already unwrapped their brooms and were admiring them, and she dropped to her knees and laid the box on the springy ground to hurriedly unwrap it. Mere moments later, it lay in her lap. Elana didn't believe she had ever held anything so - so wonderful. She lovingly patted her name and number engraved on the handle, smiling more broadly than she had ever before. Wiping happy tears from her eyes, she stood and swung a leg over the broom. Looking up into the clear sunny sky, she kicked off from the ground. She had to immediately tighten her grip - this thing was fast! She had started at the entrance to the pitch, and was already three quarters down. She let out a joyful laugh and sped up, swinging it in a long arc down back the way she had come. Once there, she tried out a stop, and was pleasantly surprised at the gentleness of it, even though it had been sudden. But Elana couldn't stay still for long - soon she was off, spinning through the air, diving, shooting up, anything and everything. Wait till the other teams see these, she thought, grinning. | I introduce you to the speed-mover 3000. It has the speed of a 3 hundred miles per hour car and has the lightness of a runt pig. it won't break if someone trys to break it or if it gets stuck in something like other brooms. its has the softest grip but not so soft. the grip is like touching a sheep-fur sweater. It handles weather very well. but most likely in winter and fall. and where you sit the seat is made out of pillow stuffing and a hard cover that is as hard of a tree stump.
part 2:
It was a beautiful sunny saturday and i was going to test fly my new speed-mover 3000 i got for christmas last week, My name is Connie Parts. I was near hagrids hut to test fly it. ( just incase it get out of control and i need hagrids help). I got on my broom and i went.....flew really fast. i bump into a few trees but didn't get hurt. For the next 2 hours the weather was becoming cold, and my hands were becoming reallyy stiff from holding it for so long. But the way that i first flew i was happy and mixed fellings because i was scared that i would break my broom. Then after the 5 hours on the broom i did loopty-loops and i stood on the broom. It was great.

| Part 1: The Zippy Zoom is the best choice for any seeker out there. It is made from the redwood trees of Humboldt County’s Redwood Forest, which is home to the world’s tallest tree. Redwood is the lightest and most durable wood around, meaning that it can get to high speeds and can withstand almost any blow. Because this broom was designed specifically with Seekers in mind, dragon heartstrings were embedded inside the wood, for those high ascents in stormy weather. The heartstrings absorb all of the energy from surrounding lightning strikes and put it towards the speed of the broom, while also protecting the rider from getting fried like chicken. The Zippy Zoom goes from 0 to 60 in less than two seconds, and can reach speeds up to 300 miles per hour making it the fastest broom in existence. There is of course, a cushioning charm to ensure the rider’s comfort. Along with a braking charm, comes foot pegs which greatly improves maneuverability and handling. To help the rider maintain firm control over the broom, a convoluted grip was carved into the handle. This design has proven to help the rider make remarkably sharp turns and enables them to climb to higher elevations. Overall the Zippy Zoom is the premium broomstick for any seeker. (214) Part 2: Clafin nervously stepped out onto the pitch with her new Zippy Zoom broomstick in hand, and snow crunching lightly under her feet. Her uncle had gotten it for her as a present after she got top scores on her O.W.L.s. She’d finally decided to read up on them and had immediately gotten scared when she saw how fast they went. The cold winterair biting at her bare arms, sending chills down her spine. She walked slowly to the middle of the stadium and mounted the broomstick, her nerves making her hands shake uncontrollably. With everything inside her head screaming at her, Clafin went against it and took off. She lurched forward going remarkably faster than she had expected to in such a short amount of time. Her stomach began twirling, and her head was spinning. She gripped on tightly to the handle and began climbing higher into the sky. She finally caught her breath, and a wide smile formed on her lips. Her heart was racing with excitement as she dove towards the ground faster than ever before. Waiting until the last second, she pulled up on the handle, hovering just inches above the ground. She heard the sound of cheering coming closer to her, and she turned to see the rest of the Gryffindor Quidditch team. (217) Part 3: | |
