Quality of Work *PLEASE READ*

Other professor's have been adding this element to their classes and after reading some responses to current and past classes I have decided to add it as well.

I do understand that many people do assignments and participate in discussions for the fun of it. I do that myself. However, I do ask that you put forth some effort and don't just type anything to get some house points or to say that you did an assignment for a house incentive. Recently, I have noticed the amount of effort found in classes shrink and while not everyone is guilty I think that it is a problem that needs to be addressed.

Therefore, I am now going to add SPAG and QWC to part of the grading system. This is not to discourage people from participating but rather reward students who put forth outstanding effort during homework assignments. So I will be adding points to assignments and discussions that reward students for doing things that many already do.

This will involve:

Using good spelling and grammar - you will not be penalized for every little thing (because I am a horrible speller) but at least make an effort to have good spelling.

Having the right word count

NO COPYING/PASTING - please remember to cite all sources

Also overall effort and quality
