| (Is it okay if I made them a while ago, if not specifically for this badge?) # Make a bag or purse/wallet.There were... twenty something steps to this. I used the pattern I bought to create the bag, but the detail on the front is my own design. First step was to cut the material out and iron on the inerfacing where necessary. Then I cut out the pieces of fabric that made up the detail and used applique and couching to apply the pieces and decorate the bag. Next I followed the steps and sewed the compartment of the bag, added the front pockets, then the strap and zipper. Last step was the lining. I sewed the pieces together and then handsewed it to the interior of the bag. # Knit something. (Some scarves.) These scarves were done using plain stitch. Cast onto the knitting needle (I did 39x26 stitches for each panel). And after I cast on I thread the needle through the loop and then the yarn went over, and then the needle pulled it through and onto the other needle, creating a new loop. This process was repeated until the line was completed, and then knitting needles swapped to go the opposite way. Repeat that process 26 times, the switch colours by cutting off the yarn and tying it off with the new colour, and continue with the process. # Create something out of paper (origami). (These are paper cranes of various sizes.) I took a square piece of paper and folded it in half both ways, the did the same on the diagonal. Taking the square I folded two of the vertical folds and folded them inwards, to create a smaller square. The corners were folded inwards (half way) with the loose end pointing down, and created a kite-shape. Then I unfolded the kite on each side and folded the paper inwards along the lines created, so that it was still the same shape, but with no loose flaps. Unfolding the paper, I bent the two outer folds upwards, so that it was a pointed diamond-like-shape. Next I folded the outer edges inward so that the obtuse points were now flat, and then I took the two lower points and folded them upwards, inverting the fold as I did so to create the tail and the head of the crane. The head was made in the same way on one side; to complete the crane, I pulled on the wings so that it may sit upright of its own. | |

| Dream CatcherThis is a very simple way to make a dream catcher using only string and two pencils. First position the pencils in a cross and wrap the string around each to hold them in place. Then keep wrapping the string around the pencils getting further and further away from the center. If you use string that changes colors then you don't have to worry about switching colors. If not, simply pick up a new color and go back over one layer of the previous color before moving on to make sure all the weaving stays put. Keep weaving around the pencils until you're happy with the size and then tie the end in a knot. You can then hang the dream catcher over your bed! JewerlyFor this bracelet, I needed one very long piece of thin brown string. I used a variety of different types of beads. For each row on the bracelet, I would string through all three beads (two small, one larger) and then string them the opposite way on the next set (in a zig zag pattern) to keep al lbeads together. In the center I added two different styled beads for interest and kept going. When I was content with the size, I had two long tails of string at either end of the bracelet. I then tied a small know at either end to kep the beads in place and then a large slip knot with two beads at the end to allow the bracelet to be tightened or loosened as needed. Clay PotTo make the best looking pot, a pottery wheel is advised to keep the pot from being lopsided at one end. When you're happy with the dimensions of the pot (be sure to keep adding water to the clay so it doesn't dry out) you can then add any clap on the top to make a design (in this case I made a butterfly by taking pieces of clay and arranging them in the general shape). I made the top and the bottom seperate, each using a pottery wheel, but kept the dimensions close so the top could fit on the bottom piece well. I then need to fire the pot in a kiln to harden it. Before doing so you can apply a clear glaze or different color glazes to get a shiny color, or none at all, after it has been fired. In my case, I used pink, purple, and yellow and painted the glaze on carefully to make sure there was an even layer. | |

| Sculpture? (Sorry but I don't know where to categorize this but this is my personal pick) First, I molded some clays to make it as the patter. I mixed some plaster of Paris and poured it into the mold (wait 'til you can't feel any hotness from the plaster) Lastly, I painted it. (Those names are my classmates'. I let them write their names a souvenir since this is a school project.) JewelryI prepared the materials. The beads are glued to the wire so that they will stay there. I hooked some extenders so that I can adjust its size. (I made it for my Graduation Ball to compliment my dress.^^) Cross StitchedUsing a pattern, I prepared the necessary threads (I suggest use DMC.^^). I started doing the corn-haired girl and make through all the patter. (My mother helped me in these because I can't perfect those single stringed stitches.ü) | |

| CushionsClick for pictureI admittedly received help for this one, but for the most part I did it on my own. First, I started by cutting two even squares of fabric. I then printed drawings of roses off the internet, places one square of fabric over it and traced the lines with a regular pencil. Next, I embroided the roses, and then came the moment where I needed help - my aunt owns a sewing machine and I can't sew a straight line for the life of me, so she took care of that part, and finally, I used cut up pieces of foam to fill them up before hand sewing shut the remaining opening. Jewelry boxesPicture 1 Picture 2Ah, hot glue. My worst enemy. It was used a lot in the creation of this jewelry box. First, I had to get a hold of all the supplies - a box (obviously), ribbons, silky fabric, filling foam and decorative accessories. First, I started with the inside of the box - I squirted hot glue on the bottom to secure the layers of foam, and then repeated the process to place the fabric on top of it. That done, I moved on to the inside of the lid portion, which was again a matter of glueing the picture on it, making sure it was centered, before framing it with two rows of ribbons and finalizing with the decorative accents (in this case, flowers). Finally, I stretched the ribbons across the lid of the box, placing small drops of hot glue on either extremities and cutting off the excess. ScrapbookClick for pictureProbably the longest project I ever did - it required a lot of material, a lot of time and a lot of patience with stupid glue that wouldn't stick. In this case, the creative process was a lot more complicated than actually doing it - thinking up different designs for twenty different pages, figuring out which paper to match with which and how to accessorize, where to place the picture, that took a lot of time. In the end, the process was basically like any other for a scrapbook - measuring, cutting, glueing, placing the pictures and finally adding the last few decorative touches. | |

| Sooo my camera broke and I am being forced to use my webcam. Knit:I made this infinity scarf last winter. Basically using size 8 needles, I started a plain stitch. I cast on and then proceeded to thread the needle through the loop, pulled the yarn above, and pulled the needle under the previous loop. Each row is only ten stitches, so it was easy to get it to the right length quickly. I cast off as normal, and then stitched the ends together. An infinity scarf is basically just one incredibly and ridiculously long scarf knitted into a circle, and fairly easy to make depending on the pattern stitch you use. I needed this scarf done quickly, so I just used a plain stitch. Jewelry: This is a friendship bracelet that I made a few years back. They are super easy to make and require little time. Basically all you have to do it pick out a few different colors of string. For this one I clearly chose pink, purple, black, and white. Then you fold the strings in half and create a slip knot. From then on, you basically take one color at a time and knot it across the rest of the strings. Pretty. Pretty. Dream Catcher: This one was a bit more challenging for me, to be honest. It requires the most materials. First, you take a metal ring for the center circle and wrap your choice of leather string around it until you cant see the metal shining through anymore. Next you take very thin white string and crochet the center part using loose looping and attach it around the leather bound circle. Next, I used a slip knot to add two more strips of the bottom of the dream catcher, then added the beads and feathers. It takes about 45 minutes to complete. | |

| Make a bag I made this bag out of grocery bags. I used white and purple. I cut the bags and tied the parts I cut into knots. Choose something else I made a pillow. I sewed the edges, and then glued them together to make them stay. Choose something else I made a hat. I took a styrofoam hat and taped green dominoes on it. Then I inserted the straws. Then I put tinsel like stuff on my hat and the mask. Then I glued and/or taped it all together. | |
