I am so happy to see all of you gathered here on this joyouse day. I must tell you, that I am all a flutter, that it, very anxious, and admittedly, anxious. However, let's not get my emotions get in the way of a simple speech, as I won't let them or anything else, for that end, interefere with my royal duties. The ball shall be held at such an inconvenient moment. I’ve so many tasks to carry out, though I suppose this one night shall be relieved of any activities for thy ball. Dear Royals,

I was delighted to recieve your invitation. A cancellation in my date book has allowed me to attend your social event. I was to recieve yet another of those drearisome Horonerary Citizenship awards for the country of Egadsistan, but happily they have broken into civil war yet again, freeing my from my duties. Although I am new to the Royal family, I feel I shall fit in quite well as it is a role for which I have prepared all my life. Still, it was shocking that all 39 of my relatives ahead of me for the crown died in so short a timespan, but I take comfort in the thought that they would be pleased to see me crowned in their place. It is so good of you to take no notice of the rumors that I myself was involved in the nefarious plan to do away with anyone that stood in the way of my coronation. As it is so often the case, my acsension to the throne has been touched by the hand of God, or as some would say, the accidental and not at all suspicious aresnic poisening (and two drownings) of all 39 of my relatives. My dear royal peers,

I must admit, I was quite thrilled to be receiving your invitation to your little, shall we call it, social gathering. Thankfully, I was able to clear my schedule for this upcoming event. Quite a difficult thing this time of the season with all the parties, balls, and soirees being thrown about. However, this momentous outing was near the top of my list! In fact, when the Brigham ball was postponed it flew to the very top! I wouldn't have been caught anywhere near the Brighams after the scandals their daughters have caused. Why, I swear if it wasn't for their titles, they would be immediately cut from the Ton!

But then I've wandered off the subject. I just wanted to assure you that I will definitely be at the ball and am thrilled to receive an invitation. It would be a perfect time for reminisce about the past and make plans for the immediate future.
