Halloween Drabble Challenge

The challenge is to write a drabble (a short, self-contained fiction of no more than 100 words), on a missing-moment from a Hogwarts Halloween. That is, something that could have taken place on Halloween during any of the seven books.

The drabble must be 100 words exactly (+/- 10%).

Points:

Ron reached his hand over the table and grabbed a spider web pie off of Hermionie's plate.

"Ron you pig!" She said throwing some carmel popcorn at him.

"Sorry can't help myself," Ron grinned as he shoved the pie in his mouth. "They're just so good, aren't they mate?"

Harry nodded half of his own pie was falling out of his mouth.

Hermionie sighed and rolled her eyes at the pair of them and picked up her own spider web pie and nibbled at the side then shoved the rest in her mouth.

She grabbed one out of Ron's hand.

"Hey," He said "Whose the pig now?"

Hermione frowned at Ron “So wizards don’t dress up for Halloween?”

“Whadda you mean dress up?

“Like as a princess or pirate” Harry said cutting in. “Muggle kids do that every Halloween and go around each house asking for candy”

Shaking his head as of to clear it, Ron went to his room Wow, and I thought my family’s poor, at least I we don’t go around asking for food…and in disguise too…

“Well, at least we got to see a troll this Halloween” Harry remarked with a shrug, not wanting to remember Dudley in his sumo wrestler costume

"Halloween used to be my favorite holiday," Ron said wistfully, swirling his finger in the orange icing on a piece of chocolate cake.

"Ron! Manners!" Hermione said in a disgusted tone, watching him lick the orange buttercream off his finger.

"Ah c'mon Hermione, I should be allowed to eat my cake however I want," Ron grumbled.

Harry grinned and shoved a fork into Ron's hand. "Give it up, mate. And why was Halloween your favorite?"

Deliberately ignoring the fork, Ron grabbed the wedge of cake and crammed it into his mouth. "Why do you think?" he retorted, chocolate crumbs spraying onto Hermione's lap.

XD I totally had to cut I wasn't even halfway done and I had 157 words XD So 110 is the best you're gonna get XD

Hermione Granger sat in the girls bathroom, tears running down her face. She wiped them away. Trying to keep more from coming; it was harder then she thought it would be. Why did she care what they thought anyway? Why should she care? She knew that she wasn’t the most popular person in the world, that they all talked about her.

So, why was she sitting here in the girl’s bathroom on Halloween crying her eyes out? What had made this time so different? She couldn’t exactly pin-point the difference. All she knew is that this time it’d made her snap and this is how she was gonna spend Halloween.

Crabbe and Goyle shoved handfuls of candy in their mouths as Draco rolled his eyes at them. Pigs they were, stupid fat pigs. Why he ever let himself be seen with them he couldn’t quite figure out. He glanced over to the Gryffindor table towards Potter, as he so often did. Stupid Potter, he thought. He hated Potter, but most of all he hated that Potter had it so good. Yeah he had so much weight on his shoulders, but at least he had friends. Malfoys never did, but Draco never complained. He couldn’t. Malfoys never admitted they were lonely.

It was Luna’s third year at Hogwarts and she didn’t expect them to be much different than her previous ones here. She entered the Great Hall with Ginny and said “Watch out for the Mopnicks, they come out every Halloween.” And not noticing Ginny’s rolling eyes Luna made her way over to the Ravenclaw table.



“Everyone before we eat we should check to see if there are any foogrids around. They might poison our food while we eat.” She told the table at large as everyone continued to eat not caring about her concerns but Luna pulled out her wand and used some spells.

Ok...here's my entry! Its just within the limit at 110, I did try to cut it down but I couldn't do anymore. Oh and if you read it it will be pretty obvious when its set. But, for you slower people its set in the 3rd book, while everyone else is at the Halloween feast.

Sirius prowled the corridors making as little noise as possible; the only sound he could hear was the pounding of his own heart. Suddenly, he heard footsteps approaching; he sunk into the shadows trying to make himself as inconspicuous as possible. Luckily, the student walked on briskly – probably heading to the Halloween feast. The smells wafted up toward him and his knees went weak with hunger, the meagre meals he’d been having were barely enough to sustain him. Still, he forced himself not to think of it and pressed on – he had to find Pettigrew. He came to a stop outside the portrait of the Fat Lady and drew his knife…
