Class suggestions

I think that an assignment on Dumbledore would be interesting, since he did so much to help out magic.

What about an assignment based on the past dealing with the four founders of Hogwarts? Maybe like something on what spells each one was good at? Maybe have them each as seperate assignments-And have us make up their histories that are unknown like where they went to school-before hogwarts? What their magical major was? What their acchievments were as they grew up and once they created Hogwarts talk about their gains, losses, about how they did/didn't get along. How each form of magic came to be?? I have a lot of ideas on this but this is just some to start with.

how about an assignment on the origins of magic? ask people to describe the first witch/ wizard, where they were from, and how their magic developed through their life, and a general overview of how their magic helped them to survive. possibly, the lesson could ask students to suggest (generally) how magic has evolved from the time of the first witch/wizard to the current day.

PART ONE- physical
1) When was Dumbledore born?

2) Descibe his appearence.

3) What does he enjoy, according to his chocolate frog card?

4) In latin, what does his name mean?

PART TWO- history

1) In 1945, what wizard did Dumbledore defeat? Also, who does this wizard represent in the modern non-magical world?

2) Dumbledore held a post in what wizard organization? Explain what this organization does for the wizarding world.

3) What are Dumbledore and Nicholas Famel both? Explain what this is and how to become one.

4) Tell about one thing Dumbledore learned how to do with a certain spell.

PART THREE
Explain in a few paragraphs, how you believe Dumbledore has most helped the wizarding world. Was it with a spell, an idea, or another thing? Explain in detail.

Well, I was thinking a lesson about Magical Inventors, if you know what I mean. Like the inventor of the Snitch, invetor of the Sorceror's stone, or an inventor of a spell, etc. Sort of like the Writer's duel over at HPFF.

I'm thinking maybe we can research about a particular inventor then we can make up something we can invent.

This is quite random but how about an assignment on sweetmaking! you caould ask people about Bertie Botts and the founders of honeydukes and possibly ask people to suggest how a few of the sweets were developed and what they contain!

how about the history of the goblet of fire and all of the tournaments that happened and anything bad that happened during them

I was thinking maybe you could create a new magical holiday and write about how you came up with the idea and the importance of the holiday,

how about we come up with a war that happened in the magic world and say who was involved and stuff like that

Maybe we can make-up an important event that had past a long time ago and write a little story about it with details like when it happened, what happened,why it happened,what they did about it,who was involved,what happened after this thing etc.. of course it's all made-up by the students.

Here's a kinda random idea.

Muggles have their Seven Wonders of the World. How about the magical world?

It's your job to list seven totally made-up (by the students, of course ) wonders of the magical world. Give me their location, why they make your list, and most of all... the history involved with them. You can, of course, tie muggle history with magical history, but no full connections!

* History of St Mungos Hospital - write a document upon the history of St mungos
