TUTORIAL: Swimming

(used Photoshop CS)



1. We start off with this [base].

2. Duplicate the base 3 times. First layer above the base set to Soft Light. The one above that set to Screen. And the last one to Linear Dodge at 49% opacity.

3. Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Curves and make to following points:

RGB

• Input - 108
  Output - 75
  
• Input - 135
  Output - 108

Red

• Input - 120
  Output - 174
  
• Input - 65
  Output - 92

Green

• Input - 138
  Output - 128

Blue

• Input - 92
  Output - 100
  
• Input - 131
  Output - 124
  
• Input - 174
  Output - 127

4. Paste [this] on there. (fyi this is a white image mixed with some transparent-ness) Set it to Hard Light at 51% opacity.

5. Set [this] to Soft Light.

6. Set [this to Lighten at 46% opacity.

7. Set [this] to color burn.

8. Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Photo Filter. Filter: Sepia. Density: 57%.

9. Set [this] to Soft Light at 50% opacity.

10. Set [this] to Soft Light.

11. New Layer, fill #000012. Set to Exclusion

12. New Layer, fill #454560. Set to Saturation at 50% opacity.

13. Font: Neuva Std (this may come with Photoshop...not sure) Light. Size: 10pt. Leading: 6pt. Tracking: 200. (to set these windows > character)

Place the text right above that light line on the bottom of the banner.

14. Font: Neuva Std - Light. Size: 14pt. Tracking: 400.

Text:

Place text in the light area at the top of the banner.
