Weather: Hot and dry feels like all water is being dried from your body.

Remember to observe the new Quidditch rules: day one is for arriving to the pitch, after which the referee will post and the game can properly begin and chasers can no longer immediately state that they have scored. They must wait for the Keeper to post. See the howler in the main forum for more info.

(Hufflepuff Chaser and Co- Captain)

Skie curled up under her warm covers and pulled her pillows over her ears to block out all sound. On of her dorm mates was being ridiculously loud and making noises that sounded like an alarm clock. Really, why won't you just shut it so I can get some rest. Skie thought angrily as she burrowed deeper and deeper under the covers. I mean, I have a quidditch game today, I need my rest! Wait... Skie's sleep fogged brain suddenly responded and the effect was immediate and loud. "I HAVE A QUIDDITCH GAME TODAY!" Throwing off all of her covers, Skie proceeded to run around the room screaming and grabbing her clothes. Taking deep, slow breaths when she realized that her alarm clock had only been ringing for a few minutes, Skie relaxed.

"Okay, so I need... arm and shin guards." Pulling out her trunk, Skie proceeded to rummage through the mess to find her wonderful quidditch gear. "Eureka!" Pulling on the thick leather pads, Skie quickly got up and hobbled around trying to get the darn things to be comfortable. As she straightened up, Skie decided to head down to the Great Hall and grab a coffee and a sugar cookie. It never was a bad idea to be on a sugar and caffeine rush during a quidditch game.

Skipping down the stairs two at a time, Skie was unfortunately caught in one of the trick steps and had her leg sunk half way through the whole step. Doing verbal gymnastics under her breath, Skie slowly eased herself out of the step, only to find herself tumbling down the stairs and landing spread out, feeling like a rag doll, on the floor. Standing up and dusting herself off, Skie glared at a couple of first years who scurried to avoid her. "Don't you midgets have better things to do than to watch people fall down stairs?" Not bothering for an answer, Skie stalked off into the Great Hall, her dignity savaged by her fall. Quickly draining a coffee and cramming a cookie down her throat in one quick motion, Skie rushed into the locker room to grab her robes.

Slipping on the elegant gold and black of her house, Skie felt her spirits lift slightly. As she grabbed Timothy jr. and walked onto the pitch, Skie stopped. It felt as if she had stepped into an oven, and more than that, the bright light of the sun had just blinded her. Rubbing her face to clear her eyes from the spots of purple that were swimming in and out of her vision, Skie leaned forward, lost her balance and fell on her nose. As her body thudded onto the ground, Skie waved her arms in an attempt to get up and pull herself into a sitting position. "Ouch!" Skie muttered between her teeth as she rubbed her nose delicately. Picking up her fallen broom, Skie had one of those epiphany's that only come around every once in a while.

"It's going to be one of those days..." Skie murmured as she got up into the air and waited for the rest of her team to arrive.

{Ravenclaw Seeker and Co-Captain}

Rigby sauntered into the locker room, pleased with herself for being on time for once. She pulled her long hair into a high ponytail, heading towards her locker. She undressed and sprinkled Sorceror Tanzie's Cooling Powder liberally on her body, as it was going to be a hot day and she didn't want sweat running down her face, into her eyes, and interferring with her sight. She quickly changed into her quidditch robes, tucking a copy of Eclipse into her deep pockets. Then she stuffed some extra bandages in one of her other pockets, it had been awhile since Etta had broken any of Rigby's bones, but that was all the more reason to be prepared.

Since she still had some time before the game started, she grabbed a powebar and wolfed it down. It was going to be a long game. Rigby grabbed her freshly polished broom and headed through the tunnels towards the pitch. When she got to the entrance she hopped on, flying out of the exit.

The air that met her felt like a fire. Suddenly she wasn't so sure her cooling powder would be enough. She wished that they were able to play quidditch in swimsuits. The heat was already unbearable, she couldn't imagine a whole game of this weather. Rigby was not a fan of warm weather. With cold tempertures you could always put more and more clothing on, in the heat you could only take so much off before you were in your birthday suit and still hot.

Rigby flew over and hovered near the Ravanclaw stnads which were givng a small degree of shade. A first year handed her a glass of ice water, which she gratefully downed. The she pulled out Eclipse and began to read, conserving her energy for the snitch release.

(Hufflepuff Keeper)

Kate awoke with a start. It was Quidditch today and she musn't be late. As she got up, she tried to remember what she needed. OK. Gloves, Check, Robes, Check, Broomy, Check.

Kate walked up the stairs into the common room and out of the dorrway. She arived in the entrance hall and met a few spectators cheering her on.

After a hurried breakfast of cheese on toast, Kate walked out into the grounds. On her way Kate noticed the hot and humid weather conditions. WOW. She thought. This is HOT.

When Kate arived on the pitch she saw Skie and a Ravenclaw in the air. "Hiya Skie!" Kate called to Skie as she mounted her broom. Kate had named her broom the day before after it seemed like the odd one out with out a name. Broomy she had called it. Kate was not very imaginative with names.

"So. When does this thing start?" She wondered aloud.

(RAVENCLAW CHASER)

With the sun beating down on her back, the heat making her dread putting on her heavy Quidditch robes, and the dryness of the air making each breath seem less and less helpful as they dried out her mouth and nose, Elana wasn't really looking forward to the match. The day was one that said, "Stay inside where it's cool, catch up on reading," stuff like that. Not "Go outside where you can't get anything to drink and fly around where there's no shade." But a commitment's a commitment, and so she made her way into the locker room and got ready to head out. Spying Rigby's Sorcerer Tanzie's Cooling Powder lying out on the bench, she sprinkled it on her skin before putting on her guards. That done, she quickly tied her hair back into a braid and grabbed her broom and a pair of sunglasses. It was time to play.

As she walked out onto the pitch, the heat, sun, and dryness was only made worse by the robes, and she knew she had to get moving before it got to her. She put on the sunglasses, kicked off from the ground and looked around to see who was there. There was only one other Ravenclaw, Seeker-Captain Rigby, and two Huffles, their Chaser-Captain Skie and Keeper Kate. Hoping that the rest of her team would show up soon, Elana flew to her position, anxiously awaiting the ref's release of the balls and the beginning of the game.

(Ravenclaw Beater)

Stephy made her way down to the pitch and headed stright for the Ravenclaw Locker rooms. As she made her way down she spotted many students who were fanning themselves off with whatever they could find or finding some other means to stay cool. Stephy liked the weather and it was nice and hot. Her perfer temperature for the day was around 80 degrees Fehrenhiet. Smiling as she passed another group of girls trying to keep cool, Stephy made her way down to the locker room.

Once inside of the locker room she quickly threw on her robes. Stephy made sure that her robes were on right and went over to her locker where she pulled out her bat, broom and gloves. She quickly slipped on her gloves and headed over towards the door with her broom under her arm and her bat held tightly in her hand.

Once outside, Stephy quicky spotted that tehre were some people in blue who were already on the field. Mounting her broom, Stephy kicked hard off of the ground and roased several feet into the air. She gave her fellow team mates a small wave and then gave her bat a few swings to get ready for the game. Stephy was glad that she was used to the hot temperatures or she too would be sewating as much as everyone else which would probably hinder her greatly. Her mom always told her that she was wierd for cranking the temperature up in the car to 80 while hers was at 60. In Stephy's mind 60 was like winter, if her mom wanted to she could made snow in the car.

(Referee/ Commentor)

Raistlin glanced through the window and saw the Quidditch pitch full but didn't bothered to move till a paper appeared from thin air on his table. Grabbing it he instantly recognised Amy's handwritting:

"I am unable to make it for today's game. Please fill in for me."

Raistlin crunched the paper into a ball and quickly got on his feet and headed to the pitch.

"We need to review that rule about no appariting within the grounds" he thought. Reaching the pitch he quickly released the balls, threw the quaffle and blew the whistle marking the beginning of the game. He was getting ready to peacefully watch the match when he noticed something in the commentor's cabinet, his name was placed there in silver green letters.

"Shoot I forgot I was suppose to comment the game too." Nearby spectators laughed at him and he replied "laugh once again and I promise you shall never see a positive grade in DADA. How funny is that?" Feeling happy about himself Raistlin entered the commentor's cabinet, cleared his voice and spelled "SONORUS"

"Ahem ahem. Welcome dumbs and dummiers I mean ladies and gentleman to yet another quidditch game between two of the most boring teams in HE... wait pardon me Gryffindor isn't playing. Ravenclaw against Hufflepuff. So far it's 3 against 2 in favour of the birdies let's see if they seal the deal though their golden days are long gone butbadgers are in a long run for failures. Let's see what happens..."

Matthew ran onto the pitch, breatless and tired. Still rubbing the sleep out of his eyes he mounted his broom, his new repaired bat held firmly in his right hand. Late again because of Bobette, she was a terrible person, trying to stop her own team from winning, Etta should surely get rid of the creature. Flying up into the air winging his bat about the place like a mad man, his bat was yellow with a black ring around it. Stylish. One thing popped in his head as he looked around Rai was just flying off the pitch, at least he wasn't too late. Zooming about the place he noticed more things, there was more Ravies there than huffies, it wasn't like that the last time, which gave them a good advantage.

'Lets go Huffies, come on you hufffiiiiiieeeeeesssss!!!!!' he yelled zooming about.

(Hufflepuff Keeper)

Kate watched the balls get released. "LETS GO HUFFLEPUFF!" Kate called. There were currently only 2 players including herself from Hufflepuff on the pitch.

Thats OK. Kate thought. We can DO this!

The sun was blaring down on her. Wow. This is scorching. I hope the team show up soon.

Just then Kate saw Matthew come onto the pitch. “Hey Matthew! You ready to hit some bludger's?!” She called.

Laughing, Kate did a few flips on her broom and came back to rest in front of the middle hoop.

(Hufflepuff Chaser and Co- Captain)

"Hi Kate, hi Matthew!" Skie said waving to her teammates before another idea or shiny object caught her eye. "Oh there was an old badger that lived in a hole. It had so many hopes that it didn't know where to go! So the badger went out to accomplish it's means, and when it was done it ate some whipped cream!" Skie yelled out of shear boredom. Okay, what's next you thickheaded troll? Really, right now is not the time for poems. Unfortunately, Skie's pessimistic side didn't appreciate the boredom, or the bad rhyming. Well then what should I do, if you're so smart? Thought Skie. "Oh! I know!" A brilliant idea had just hit her, and hopefully, it would play out well. Racing over to the Hufflepuff side of the pitch, Skie hovered above the yellow and black crowd.

"ARE YOU READY TO PLAY HUFFLEPUFFS?" Skie screamed at the top of her lungs, the sound filling up the whole stadium. "I CAN'T HEAR YOU!" said a yelling Skie to the crowd as they roared. When the effect became deafening, Skie just nodded as the black and yellow robes, scarves, and articles of clothing began bouncing up and down with excitement. "GO HUFFLEPUFF!" Skie shrieked, the noise enough to break the eardrums of anyone standing to close. Okay, you just seriously sounded like a cheerleader. Skie thought at herself. "Did not," she muttered, glaring into the distance. It was quite hard to argue with your own head, but somehow Skie pulled it off just fine.

(Commentor)

Raistlin observed pickles' arrival.

"Now look at that it's another little badger, so it's 3 vs 3 now. Yet I get the feeling this game is going nowhere but boring."

Then a sudden scream came form the Huffies stand and he saw Skie in what was a cheerleader attempt to arouse the crowd.

"Oh for Merlin's sake do not scream so loud you freaks it's not like they're going to win the Cup that privilege is reserved to Slytherin's this term."

Boo's came from the stands

"Don't boo me you know I'm right! Anyway it's still a pretty boring 0-0 in this boring game. C'mon we want blood! We want blood! We want blood? Where' my blood thirsty daughter Ettie? At least she knows how to entertain me."

(RAVENCLAW CHASER)

Rai soon flew up to release the balls and commentate. The Bludgers, Snitch, and Quaffle flew up into the air, and while Skie was trying to raise Huffle enthusiasm in the stands Elana smiled as she positioned herself below the Quaffle. It fell into her arms; she kept one arm around it and gripped the front of her broom with the other. Easiest beginning to a game she'd had in a long while, it seemed, when there were other players on the pitch. Not wanting to spoil her good luck and attract the Hufflepuff Chaser's attention, she quietly zoomed away, heading towards the Hufflepuff goals. The Keeper, Kate, was ready and waiting at the center hoop, and she hoped that she'd be able to get one past her. It was always nice to get on the board early, and, as Rai had pointed out, it was still only zip-zip. But, with any skill and luck, it wouldn't be for long. Quaffle securely tucked between her arm and stomach, Elana continued on her way to the goals, head swiveling constantly looking out for Bludgers and other players.

(Ravenclaw Beater)

Looking around the pitch, Stephy heard Rai's booming voice fill the stadium. She then heard him yell for some blood and she shouted back "Rai I can send a Bludger towards your direction if you want to see some blood" she joked. She quickly zoomed up high above the other players so that she would be able to look down at the pitch and see where everyone was at. By the looks of things all of her teammates were save from the harm of any Bludgers.

Scanning the pitch, Stephy quickly spotted one of the bludger down by the Ravenclaw goal posts. Flattening herself against her broom, Stephy quickly gained speed as she zooomed over towards the black ball. As she neared closer to the Bludger, Stephy sat up on her broom to slow down her speed a bit and once she was close enough she threw back her arm and swinging her arm forward with her bat held tightly in her hand, she threw all of her wieght forward and a crack filled the air.

The Bludger went zooming in the opposite direction heading right towards Skie who was getting the Hufflepuff supporters to start cheering. Stephy watched as the Bludger gained speed as it zoomed ever closer to Skie and was starting to regret sending the ball at her when she wasn't ready. Turn around Skie or your going to get hit Stephy thought to herself as she looked away searching for the other Bludger so she didnt have to watch what was about to happen

{Ravenclaw Seeker and Co-Captian}

Rigby was wishing hard that someone would conjure up a rainstorm, but so far no luck. Not even a cloud in the sky. She could hear Raisty, and his typical snarky comments, as she searched for the snitch. Well, never a dull moment with him as the commentator. Besides, he might prove a big enough distraction to allow her to search for the snitch in peace. Let Raisty take some of the bludgers for once.

The air was heavy with heat. The cooling powder she had put on was doing its job, but she had a feeling it wouldn't last the entire game. Rigby was taking shallow breaths because the air was uncomfortably warm in her lungs. Just let me catch the snitch early and then I promise to invite the Huffies to a Slip-N-Slide party on the grounds. I'll even host a water balloon fight,she thought.

Water balloons!

Rigby suddenly yanked up on her broom handle and did a perfect turn without losing speed, something she had been working hard on in practice. She flew to the Ravenclaw stands where despite being wilted the fans were out in force. She spotted a third year and quickly explained to her what she wanted done. She kept an eye out for the snitch and bludgers while the Ravenclaw carried out her orders.

Soon the third year had returned with dozens of packets of water balloons that Rigby had stowed away in her locker. Herby used them sometimes during Bludger dodging practice with the new quidditch members who hadn't developed thick enough skin yet to take the hits. Rigby instructed the third year and several other house members to fill them up with a small water spell that would allow water to flow from their wands and to fill up the balloons.

"Okay, if you see a Ravenclaw... or a particularly pathetic, desperate Hufflepuff, who looks like they need some cooling off, then lob a water balloon at them. If you have bad aim then for Merlin's sake use a directional charm. Got it?"

They got it. In fact a few of the first years looked a little too thrilled at the opportunity to smack her off her broom with a well aimed water balloon. Perhaps she was going to have to learn to be nicer to newbies. At least the water from the balloons would give her and her teammates a brief respite from this overwhelming heat. With a sigh, Rigby returned to the middle of the pitch, flying lower than usual. Bludgers were more of a danger at this level, but heat rises. She really, really hated the hot weather. She'd rather, much rather, play in a hurricane then have to suffer in the blazing sun.

The sun. Ugh. It was so bright. She'd never catch a glimpse of the snitch if she was squinting like a bad actor in a lousy western film. She dug in her pants pockets and was relieved to pull out her sunglasses. Rigby slid them on, and immediatly perked up. The glasses were dark enough to make it seem almost overcast outside. Much better. Now, where was that snitch?

(Hufflepuff Chaser and Co- Captain)

"Wha- what?" Skie did a tail spin from where she was sitting like a useless lump of potatoes and turned around. YOU TROLL BRAINED, QUAFFLE DROPPING IDIOT! AND THERE'S A STINKIN' BLUDGER COMING YOUR WAY! Skie screamed at herself in a mental voice that could only be described as loud, very, very loud. Skie quickly zoomed into the most important detail. There was a solid iron ball zooming towards her, and it was very intent on hitting it's target. Slipping into the Badger Stand, Skie did a handstand on her broom and spread her legs into a 'v'. As the blood began to drain into her brain, Skie saw the bludger approach, and realized that the bludger was going to hit her ankle. Skie heard the impact before she felt the domino effect of shaking bones reverberate through her body. Luckily all of the leather used in her boots had protected her, but the bruise would still be there in the morning, when she was wondering why she had ever liked quidditch in th first place.

THE GAME STARTED, AND YOU'RE JUST SITTING AROUND LIKE A PAIR OF OVER USED UNDERWEAR! The voice was beginning to take it's insults just a wee bit to far, so Skie shut it up and turned her concentration to the game. First off, Raistlin had insulted the Hufflepuff team, therefore a nice- ish glare was shot in his direction. Of course Hufflepuff couldn't win the quidditch cup, but we could at least try to get through the season with... lack of sucking. Skie thought with a mental sigh. Oh, and the Ravenclaw seeker has the qauffle Skie thought before she realized what it meant.

"AH!" Skie screamed as she nearly took a dive off of her broom. Sitting up straight in a way that reminded one of a guilty child, Skie shot a quick glance to her right, then to her left and shot off after Elana. The wind tugged at her short hair, and Skie could feel the blistering sun on her back as she chased after the other chaser. This is no way to get a tan, Skie reflected, wondering what kind of tan line or burn line she would get. Leaning forward to coax every inch of speed out of her broom, Skie finally found herself caught up with the other chaser and prepared herself for her next move.

(RAVENCLAW CHASER)

The unmistakable CRACK of Bludger hitting body made its way to Elana's ears, and she turned to see the Hufflepuff Chaser with her legs in the air. This odd evasive tactic made her doodledoo her head, but she shook it momentarily. Focus, Lana, focus. A Bludger to the ankle would hurt like heck, but wouldn't get the Chaser out of the game. It wouldn't be long before she was right behind her, and, hearing the rush of wind behind her, she turned her head to see Skie of Hufflepuff chasing her. Her grip on the Quaffle tightened and she laid low to her broom, speeding up. If she could get to the goals in time to make a decent shot, then it would all be okay. And if the shot went in, it would be more than okay. It would be fantastic! Terrific! Amazing!

They really needed a win.

C'mon, Regina! she urged her broom. Just a bit more!

Finally she was within shooting distance, with Skie not far behind her. She quickly zoomed up so that she was closest to the right hand goal, sat up and took the Quaffle in a hand. Aiming hurriedly, she threw the bright red ball at the hoop. It had to go in, it just had to! Suddenly, a splash of cool water hit her head. Water dripping down her face and hair, Elana angrily whipped around to see who had done it. As she opened her mouth to yell, she realized that it actually felt nice. Better to be soaked in water than sweat at the end of the game. She quickly morphed the mouth ready to yell into a grateful smile and turned back to the hoops. She hadn't heard the ding, but it must have either gone in or fallen by now...

(Hufflepuff Chaser and Co- Captain)

"NO!" Skie saw the scene as if it were in slow motion, the qauffle leaving Elana's fingertips and heading for Kate's goal. "KATE! QUAFFLE!" Skie screamed, and screamed, but the only thing that could save this goal was Kate. "Oh, well, score or no score, I'm getting the qauffle when it comes back into play," Skie vowed solemnly. Spinning around, partially because she was unwilling to see whether there would be a score or not, and partially to wait until the qauffle came back into play, Skie flew out into the middle of the pitch. The heat bombarding her at all sides, Skie felt the sweat begin to bead on her forehead. Wiping it away, Skie bounced up and down on her broom anxiously until the quaffle could be be thrown into play.

(Ravenclaw Beater)

Stephy heard a thud that indicated that the Bludger that she had aimed at Skie had in fact hit it's target. Looking towards her direction she saw that it only hit her in the ankle. Glad that she was okay, Stephy quickly flew around the many team players on the field looking for a Bludger. After zooming arounc for awhile she started to heard a whistleing sound behind her and turning around she quickly spotted it to be a Bludger.

"How didn't I see that" Stephy said as she quickly turned her broom around to face the on coming ball. She quickly threw back her bat and started to fly stirght towards the Bludger that wanted to cause her nothing but pain. Once the ball was about to hit her, Stephy threw back her bat and then swung her arm foward will all of teh strength she could muster. A loud crack filled the air as the Bludger went zooming off towards the opposite direction.Stephy watched as the Bludger zoomed off and headed stright for Mathew.

{Ravenclaw Seeker and Co-Captain}

Rigby laughed at Elana's expression when she got hit by the water balloon. Perhaps she should have at least warned her fellow teammates? But Elana, being the smart and quick Ravenclaw that she was, figured out what was going on and seemed to be happy with the soaking.

The snitch was making a late appearance, obviously striving to be fashionable. Rigby gritted her teeth and endured the heat that shimmered the air around her. It was like playing in a desert, pretty soon she would start to hallucinate and picture the snitch in places that it wasn't.

Suddenly Rigby took a face full of water balloon, the water bomb bursting somewhat painfully across her nose. Of course the water immediately cooled her off, making her forget the momentary pain. Her face was wet for only a few seconds, the water evaporated off her sunglasses and skin as quickly as it had came. Her hair retained the moisture a little longer, but it was clear that all the water balloons were going to be needed before the game was through.

She dove down, urging her broom into a dead drop, falling almost more than she was flying. She had finally caught sight of the snitch far below her. Not wanting to spook the snitch she veered to the left, gracefully tumbling out of her dive before she could reach the ground. Despite her fluid moves, the snitch sensed her and took off. Rigby followed, knowing that the heat was not going to allow her too many high speed chases. The snitch pulled far and away from her, leaving Rigby hot, tired, and empty handed.

(Hufflepuff Keeper)

"Matthew! Watch out!" Kate screemed. Skie had just been hit by one bludger in the ankle and it had seemed not to break, but they could not afford any more hits.

OK. She thought. There is me, Matthew and Skie on the pitch, Skie has been hit, Matthew is about to be hit if he does not move and there is a Quaffle heading for the right hoop. "Hang on, there is a Quaffle headed for the right hoop!!!" she cried thinking quickly.

Kate watched as if in slow motion, the quaffle was headed strait at the right hoop. She thought on her broom and did the Huffie-Splat - called so because if you are not quick enough to pull out of it, you go splat.

Kate dived straight at the quaffle at full speed. "You Are NOT going in this end!" She told it as she scooped it up into her arms and pulled out of the dive around 15 feet from the ground.

Sbe pulled back up to the hoops and threw the Quaffle strait at Skie so there would be no doubt of her catching it. "Stop Cheerleading and Play Skie!!" Then remembering the bludger that had hit Skies leg moments before she added, "OH and I hope your legs OK!" She grinned.

{Ravenclaw Seeker and Co-Captain}

Great, first I lose the snitch and now Elana's shot is blocked, thought Rigby as she flew near the Hufflepuff goals. Seeing that the Huffie keeper intent on passing to Skie, Rigby decided it was time to enact the Seeker Ricochet. At least quaffles didn't hurt as much as bludgers.

For a moment Rigby was able to put the intense heat of the day out of mind as she raced to intersect the quaffle. She was close enough to Skie to block the pass, it was just a matter of timing, and a little acting on her part.

"Snitch!" she cried as she flew in the path of the incoming quaffle. She was careful to keep her eyes of the quaffle, and instead on her imaginary snitch. A second before impact, Rigby angled her body slightly, so that the quaffle would ricochet off her and head towards Elana's direction instead of back to the Huffie goal keeper.

Whump! The quaffle hit her in her side, breifly knocking the breathe out of Rigby. She was rewarded for her injury by the sight of the quaffle hurtling in Elana's direction. She then threw the Huffie keeper, Kate, a too innocent look before rushing to the Ravenclaw stands in search of refreshment. The Seeker Ricochet, while successful, had cost Rigby a lot in energy. She needed some water and a snickers, stat! Another face full of water balloon would be welcome as well.

(Hufflepuff Chaser and Co- Captain)

"NOT WHILE I'M HERE YOU DON'T!" Skie yelled as Rigby body slammed the qauffle into Elana's direction. "Why didn't I just stay by Elana?" Skie wondered out loud as she raced over, trying to gain on the qauffle. "Going into the middle of the pitch was a trollish idea..." Skie ceased all recognizable thinking at that point and leaned forward on her broom to coax every seconds worth of speed from it's wooden frame. Leaning off to the side of the broom as she approached the qauffle, Skie reached, and then felt the thick leather under her fingers. C'mon, Skie thought as her fingers stretched just a little farther. As the leather grazed her fingers, Skie pulled in closer and yanked the qauffle into her arms. "Pass intercepted!" Skie said, practically jumping up and down on her broom. "MATTHEW MOVE YOUR BUTT OR A BLUDGER IS GOING TO BREAK YOUR HEAD AND LEAVE YOU CRUMPLED ON THE GROUND!" Skie's shrieking to her teammate would hopefully get through, and he would move, but you never knew with quidditch. "And Kate, I AM NOT A CHEERLEADER!" Skie screamed, for good measure.

Giving a very evil laugh that should have it's own theme music, Skie had snatched the qauffle and was now heading for the Ravenclaw goalposts hopefully resulting in the first score of the game. Keeping an eye out for bludgers, Skie did a barrel roll to the left and above the crowd, trying to cool herself off from the heat. Oooooooooh, this is dizzy- making, Skie thought as all of the blood rushed to her head and left the rest of her body tingling pleasantly. Then as she was in the apex of her roll, the moment when everything was clear, and simple, Skie was hit with a water balloon. "Wha- wha- what?" Skie immediately righted herself on her broom and wiped the streams of water out of her eyes. "That was refreshing," Skie said, still confused. Rubbing her head slightly and trying to look dignified with water dripping from her hair, off of her nose, and down the back of her shirt, Skie resumed her flight to the Ravvie goals.

Matthew sat, drowning in fear as the bludger headed towards him, gather your strength come on your a beater for gods sake... he swore at himself mentally slapping himself around the face. He lifted his yellow bat to attention and wacked it across the pitch. His evil laugh echoed across the pitch after it. He sounded a little like some of the evil characters in books he'd read. Something told him the bludger would drop[ in with Rigby, but he couldn't be sure on the destination. Hufflepuff were playing their second game in a row, unusual but not unheard of, atleast they had the training. Something told him the paint job he'd done on the bat was making it weaker, the last thing he needed was for the smae thing to happen that did in the last one against Gryffindor, bad days.

As time flew on Matthew realised that the bludger would indeed be hitting Rigby, if ofcourse she didn't dodge it, which would be a wise move in her behalf, as he did hit the balll a little harder than he was used to. Matthew hovered in the air rubbing his sore wrist, the inpact with the bludger wasn't the best for bones. He looked around the pitch to make sure he hadn't missed anything nothing realloy had happned, anything that did wasn't worth watching. This is borrrriiiinnnngggg!

(Hufflepuff Keeper)

"You sure did look like it Skie!" Kate laughed, then shot a satisfying glance at Elana that said quite plainly, ha.

"Good one Matthew!" Kate called at the top of her voice as Matthew booted the quaffle away.

So... where is that snitch? She wondered, smiling to herself.

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

Stephy was flyoing around the pitch when she heard a crack and looking around she saw that Mathew had manged to hit the Bludger away from himself. Watching the Bludger fly through the pitch, Stephy saw it was heading stright for Rigby "NO" Stephy screamed as she flattened herself aaginst her broom and gained speed. Within minuets she was hovering right beside Rigby in teh Bludger's way of hitting Rigby. Stephy went to throw back her arm and hit the Bludger away from her teammate but she miscalculated her aim and Bludger hit her right on the arm.

"Dang it" Stephy cried out as the Blugder hit her arm and then went zooming off away from Rigby. Stephy dropped her bat and she had to do a nose dive to retireve it. Flying after it, Stephy snatched up the bat with her left hand seeing as to how her right hand was in too much pain to use it. "Oh well I gues Im gonna have to play left handed now" Stephy said throught gritted teeth as she tried to move her fingers on her right hand but couldnt due to too much pain.

Stephy quickly scanned the fields and saw that Skie was headed towards teh Ravie goal posts and she knew that she had to do somethign to stop her. Quickly locating the other Bludger, Stephy flew off towards it and to her luck it wasn;t too far from the Ravie goal posts. Once she caught up to the ball, Stephy threw back her arm and hititng it with all the strength that she could muster with her left arm she hit the Bludger right towards Skie. She was aiming for the Quaffle in her arms but as Stephy watched the Bludger fly towards the Huffie Chaser she saw that it was aiming for her face.

(Huffie Keeper!)

"Skie! Move! BLUDGER!" Kate screemed at Skie who was at the other end of the pitch aiming for the hoops.

Praying that the bludger wouldnt hit Skie, Kate did a few loop da' loops on her broom. That was garenteed to build up power and energy.

So... where is that Snitch? Kate wondered.

(Hufflepuff Chaser and Co- Captain)

"Lipstick lullaby, this is sorry for the last time!" Skie sang happily, oblivious to everything but the wonderful lyrics of Mayday Parade. Clutching the quaffle, Skie bobbed her head to the beat in a nerd- like manner without caring what anyone else thought. "And baby I understand that your making new friends. This is how you get by.The moral this time is girls make boys cry!" Skie's voice rose into a squeaky pitch as she looked around, wondering if she heard anyone called her name. As she turned, though, Skie was confronted with a very odd picture. There looked as if there was a solid black iron ball zooming towards her, and... Kate had just said something about a bludger. "AH!" Skie screamed as she made a hard left, but of course, the bludger, being it's bludgery self, didn't want to miss. Performing the Huffie Drive By Dive, Skie quickly looped above and then below the bludger, still holding the qauffle safely under her arm.Then swinging to the left as the bludger turned on her for a second attempted hit, Skie dove towards the ground at top speed, gaining momentum as gravity weighed down. Pulling up a few feet before impact, Skie looked around with relief and saw that the bludger was no longer after her.

"Whew," Skie breathed, the waves of heat settling down on her and pushing her into exhaustion. Shaking her head to clear herself of all though other than quidditch thoughts, Skie continued her attack on the Ravenclaw goals. Throwing a glance over her shoulder at Stephy, just to make sure that she wasn't getting any painful ideas, Skie hunched down on her broom trying to make herself invisible. Then an idea struck the little Huffie chaser. The Badger Sneak Attack! Skie thought suddenly, her brain lighting up as if a match was struck and the darkness became illuminated. The day was perfect for the move, as if it had been designed with the attack in mind. Haha, let's see those Ravenclaw's stand up to this! Skie thought with her mischief senses tingling. Flying up into the sun where she would be masked by the brightness and blinding to anyone who looked at her, Skie continued trying to be covert as she snuck towards the Ravvie goals.

As she finally reached the space above the Ravenclaw goals, Skie drifted towards the right goal and pulled the qauffle out from under her arm carefully. Balancing the qauffle in one hand, and adjusting the other to hit the qauffle, Skie used the Huffie Spike and threw the quaffle up in the air and slammed her arm towards it, the impact sending the quaffle straight and true towards the Ravenclaw goals. Turning away and unable to watch unless her qauffle went in, Skie covered her eyes, and used her ears to wait for the ding. Oh great Merlin, please let this go in! Skie thought reverently. "Oh quidditch gods, if you have mercy upon this team, please, please, please let the quaffle score!" Praying, Skie waited nervously for any sign that the qauffle went in, her stomach full of butterflies, and her face slowly turning green.

(Hufflepuff Keeper)

Kate watched with anticipation as Skie shot for a goal. Please. Please go in. She prayed.

"GO GO HUFFLEPUFF!" Kate cried.

Waiting for the ball to go in, Kate sat and watched.

Matthew was still flying around the pitch in his resent triumph. He saw that his bludger didn't hit its target but did manage to injure the beater of the ravii team, he wasn't complaining about that, at least he hurt someone. He watched as the persistant beater hit the bludger with her left arm towards Skie.... "No!" he yelled flying off to try and help her, save her from the flying broken leg. Jamie got right up behind the bludger and hit it way, to see that skie had already avoided the bludger, "Damn you let me do my job!" he yelled his bat flying about above his head. He like Skie had now got a song in his head... really random, shame he forgot the corus.

Matthew looked about to see that Etta still wasn't there where was she? Probably in the clutches of Bobette and Bobina, Bernadette was the poor unfortunate person with the task to name them, no matter what they didn't like any of the names anyone suggested, so he guessed that the little badgers were getting there own backs for the naming incident.

Fill in Ravenclaw Chaser (stephy asked)

Kit flew around the pitch, she had stopped when she saw the Bludger almost hit a Hufflepuff chaser.
She had started to fly again when she realized she was floating and doing nothing for her team.
Kit knew she had to make a goal. it was her first game. But to make a goal, she first had to get a hold of the Quaffle. Which sadly didn't look like it was going to happen. Kit was amazed that she had manged to avoid bludgers for has long has she had.

Kit turned her broom so she could fly towards the Ravenclaw goals.
She had to get that quaffle. She had to prove she could. She'd have to wait though until the quaffle came into play. The sun blinded her just for a moment. That moment was enough for her to get into harms way.

As soon Kit moved to get the sun out of her eyes she saw that a bludger a Hufflepuff player, was making its way straight for her. "No!" she yelled to herself. She couldn't let it hit her. Not on her first game.
She flew off course and right into another player.

(I hope it was good enough I was scared)

(Ravenclaw Beater)

Stephy watched as Skie had managed to avoid her Bludger and went to make a score. Can watch and see if it makes it in Stephy thought to herself I have got to find a Bludger quick. Just then Stephy felt someone fly into her but lucily she was able to grab ahold of her broom before she was thrown over the side from teh impact.

Turning around she saw that it was Kit and behind her was a Bludger. "I'll get that dont worry" Stephy said to Kit as she flew around her and right towards the Bludger. Still holding the bat in her left hand, Stephy threw back her left arm and waited for the Bludger to come closer. She aslo slowed down a little so that she was sure to hit the ball right on target, afterall she was playing left handed when she was right handed.

Once the Bludger was about a foot away from her, Stephy swung her arm foward and felt the vibirations from the wood spread up through her bat and up to her sholulder. There was a loud crack and the ball went flying off towards Skie just as she had directed it but it wasnt going nearly as fast as it usually did when she hit the Bludger. Stephy then turned to face Kit and said "Kit I know this is your first match but you need to calm down. Don't worry about the Bludgers, I got them" she said giving her a small smile befre she turned her broom away and continued on with her search

Fill in Ravenclaw Chaser

Kit couldn't believe she'd run into another player! At least it was one on her team. After she ran into stephy, she returned the smile that was given with saving her butt, and sped off into the clouds.
She just knew she had to find the quaffle. and be a bit more careful. Another bludger wizzed past her, but she avoided it without flying into another player.

Kit looked around, she was in the middle of the pitch and a Hufflepuff chaser had just been hit with a bludger and she had dropped the quaffle. It was falling fast. Kit knew it was her only chance.
Kit sped off and graped the quaffle as it was falling. She couldn't believe it was in her hands. In the tips of her fingers. She sped off towards the Hufflepuff goals, with only one thing in her mind. Score.

Now the bludgers were flying fast all around Kit. She made it past a Hufflepuff beater. She could do this.
Just as she thought it a bludger hit the side of her broom.
Kit spun out of control but held onto the quaffle still. She got near enough to the goal, waited until the keeper was distracted by a bludger of his own and aimed for a score.

Kit held her breath as her first quaffle soared in the air.

(Hufflepuff Chaser and Co- Captain)

Skie jumped up and down with glee as her qauffle soared into the hoops and made a joyful that sounded throughout the stadium. Hearing the screams of the Hufflepuff house stands, Skie smiled to herself and then resumed her wait for the qauffle. As it was thrown into play, Skie didn't even notice when one of the Ravenclaw chaser snatched it away and then threw it towards the Huffie goals. OHMYMERLIN'SBAGGYDIRTYUNDERWEAR! Skie thought as she raced towards the scene of the crime. Screaming for Kate to catch the qauffle, Skie sat rigidly as she waited for any news.

Then, out of the blue, Stephy's bludger came racing out of the pits of the quidditch field towards Skie. The bludger, though it had been going slow at first, had gained momentum and was now hurtling at Skie like a cannon ball. Skie's eyes grew wider and wider with fear of the bludger shining bright in them. Bloody quidditch equipment, this is it! I'm gonna get hit! The determined bludger was heading straight for her and Skie would have no chance of getting out of the path before it was to late. Sitting as still as she possibly could, Skie kept her body as limp and lifeless as possible.

Then, as shocking pain sent vibrations through her whole body and Skie felt herself slip off of the edge of her broom. The bludger had gone straight into her gut, although luckily, it hadn't hit her rips. Now, hanging over the side of her broom, Skie employed the Badger Pull Up and dropped off the end of her broom holding on with her hands only. Then, she did a pull up on the broom and shakily sat herself down. Now that she was safe, Skie could feel her breakfast rising into her mouth. The blow that hit her stomach had done enough to make her sick, if only for a moment. Willing herself not to puke, Skie grabbed her stomach and resumed her vigil for the qauffle that had been lost.

"KATE! THERE'S A QAUFFLE COMING YOUR WAY!" Skie screamed, using all of her energy to warn Kate about the deadly qauffle coming in her direction. Turning her attention elsewhere, Skie muttered, "Where are those darn water balloons when you need them?" Spinning around, Skie saw a little first year filling one up and stole it off of him. "Sorry!" She called behind her as she flew back into the air. Undoing the knot on the balloon, Skie emptied the watery contents all of her burning head. Feeling refreshed as the water dripped off the tip of her nose and onto her lips, Skie waited to see whether the qauffle would be deflected by Kate's mad skills. "C'mon Kate!" Skie yelled.

(Hufflepuff Keeper)

Kate turned suddenly, she had been engrossed in watching the bludgers that she had forgotten to look for the quaffle.

The quaffle was headed straight for the left hoop - she was at the right. Throwing away any thoughts of a wacky move she went strait for a simple one - the Huffie Zoom. Kate flew around 10 meters away from the left hoop gaining speed then as soon as the quaffle was a meter away from the hoop, she flew at full speed towards it, catching it with seconds to spare.

Wow. She thought. That was hard.

"WELL DONE SKIE!" Kate called, throwing the ball to her. "Keep it next time though!" She laughed.

(Hufflepuff Chaser and Co- Captain)

Taking a breath of relief, Skie snatched the qauffle as Kate threw it. Feeling her lungs stop trying to choke her, Skie smiled in an embarrassed manner at Kate. Thank the quidditch gods for keepers though Skie reverently, turning her head towards the burning sun. Stretching her arms out one at a time, Skie kept the qauffle safe and in her possession. When she finished stretching, Skie grinned maniacally and laughed. Rubbing her hands together, all the while keeping her psychotic smile, Skie dove down on the pitch and began her attack on the Ravenclaw goalposts.

Keeping one eye out for any stray bludgers, Skie could feel anticipation eating away at her. "I waited eight long months, she finally set him free" Singing as she sped down the pitch, Skie bobbed her head up and down with the beat of Misery Business by Paramore, one of her favorite tunes. "I told him I couldn't lie, he was the only one for me. Two weeks and we'd caught on fire. She's got it out for me, but I wear the biggest smile!" As Skie finally reached the chorus, she was already three fourths of the way down the pitch and her head was getting tired of being shaken, bobbed, and whatever other dance move Skie forced it to do.

"We're almost there!" Skie said quietly to herself, a crazy person's smile spreading across her lips, and an evil twinkle in her eye. "My quaffley waffley!" Muttering to anyone who might even be thinking about stealing the qauffle, Skie continued down the pitch.

(Hufflepuff Keeper - Don't know if this counts but...)

Kate smiled as Skie caught the quaffle. "Go Skie!" She cried over the tremendous cheers that were issuing from the stands.

The game was going really well and it was only her 2nd game back. Kate just hoped they would win, and if they didn't... well. She didn't want to think about that.

Throwing the thought from her mind, Kate sat up taller on her broom. The game wasn't over yet, there was still time for a change of tactics from the birds in blue.
