| This class is really quite simple. All I want you to do is write up a report on Professor McGonagall, and rate her as a teacher. DO NOT include information about her outside the classroom.
Be sure to include
years teaching: (can be fictional) teaching style: creativity level: easiness: helpfullness: etc.
You can earn up to 90 points for this assignment. 10 extra for a picture of McGonagall.

| I hope I'm okay writing on here, as this seems to be the only task availiable for transfig and i'm interested in learning it.
Prof. McGonagall
Being an experienced teacher proffesor McGonagall is a fully proffesionally qualified teacher in the subject. Having taught many successful students who have all gone on and continued their lives in the wizarding world Prof. McGonagall has had a lot of practice in what she does.
She teaches with the unforgetable style of the simple old methods, learning the basics and important things, a slight adding of harsh words and a fair load of homework. Her method of setting a lot of homework is very effective, although despised by students, and is useful to improvement in basic and advanced knowledge.
Combining practical learning into her lessons Prof. McGonagall allows students to try their hand at things, and expand and understand a variety of things that would otherwise not be brought to students attention.
Prof. McGonagall teaches a lesson that is fairly hard and therefore must work quickly and efficiently in providing students all they need to know to improve, so easiness really isn't the way forward in this subject, although she has obviously got to make sure that each student is at the same level and so she must make sure that the simple things are the most learnt.
With her knack of being quite strict Prof. McGonagall makes students behave and pay attention, fearing that if they didn't, the consequences would not be nice.
Overall McGonagall is a very good teacher, and her range of teaching methods enables students to excel if they concentrate. etc.

| Minerva McGonagall, born in the year of 1920 she began teaching at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the year of 1956 until the year of 1998 when she after the downfall of Lord Voldemort she became Headmistress.
McGonagall considered Transfiguration one of the most complex and dangerous magic taught at Hogwarts and therefore took it and the job of teachign it very seriously. This allied to her very serious and strict nature won her the fear of some students but mostly respect as no one could deny her commitement and ability to teach.
Saying or doing stupid things in front of McGonagall, specially in her classes, is not a good idea, she will not tolerate so whether they're students or others who might interfere with her class such as happened with Dolores Umbridge. However, she0s never unfair and will treat every student equally.
Even though she knows her students limits she will push them to do their best and accept no less, which makes her classes not a walk in the park but not hell either. This means that McGonagall will provide help to any student who is having dificulties performing her assignments but will also assign a whole bunch of homework to those she knows to being just lazy. Extra homework is definetly something McGonagall is not afriad of (Transfiguration's one of the most talked about and described classes classes in the HP series which shows how much McGonagall had to teach).
To sum it all up, McGonagall is competent, fair and skilled, she might not be your favourite teacher due to her serious and strict manners, but she will earn your respect for how much you can learn from her. An asset to any school and all the reasons why Dumbledore trusted her so much even to take his place.

| Professor McGonagall has been teaching at Hogwarts 38 years. She is very strict but can be fun and mischevous at times like when she said to peeves when he was unscrewing a chandeleir - Quote :
- It screws the other way
The year 1991 was also the year that Harry Potter came to Hogwarts. McGonagall was head of Gryffindor's house and as so she took Harry Potter into her house. Though Minerva often maintained her strict persona in regards to the boy, she was not above bending the rules for him on occasion, such as when she caught him flying on a broomstick without proper supervision. Instead of expelling him, which was Madam Hooch's stated punishment for anyone caught doing so, Minerva instead took him to see Oliver Wood, captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch Team, to comment on his prodigious skill with the broom. Harry made the team, remarkable for a First Year, and became the youngest Seeker in a century. McGonagall made arrangements for Harry to have a Nimbus 2000, the fastest broomstick of the time, for use during games and practices. Come the end of the school year Gryffindor, McGonagall's house had won the house cup after recieving the most housepoints that year. In 1992, Minerva was present for the re-opening of the Chamber of Secrets. She, along with the rest of the teaching staff, scoured the castle for the Chamber, but to no avail. She also had to deal with the less than helpful Gilderoy Lockhart, who had been hired for the position of Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor. McGonagall had little liking or use for the man, and by the end of the year was only one of the many staff who utterly despised him Thus I belive that Professor McGonagall is a great teacher

| Minerva McGonagall is one of the most outstanding teachers at Hogwarts School of Withcraft and Wizardry. She has been one of the most outstanding teachers for over 30 years. She is a wonderful educator as well as a mentor. She is fair, yet firm and is a faithful and wonderful friend. Professor McGonagall has a very effective method of teaching. She is impartial to anyone inside the classroom. Even if your name is Harry Potter. She is likable in many aspect of her educational endeavors. She listens to her students and obliges, to a certain point. For Example, in Harry's second year at Hogwarts, the gang was in Transfiguration, and Hermione asked Professor McGonagall about the Chamber of Secrets. She told them the story even though it was completely irrelevant to their lesson. And she got them back on track after things got out of hand. She is respected and feared. She is very creative when it come to lessons as well, but seriously, how can you not be creative when teaching Transfiguration? She keeps her students glued to their seats. You will never walk down a Hogwarts Hallway and hear someone complaining about having to go to Transiguration. McGonagall's classes aren't always the easiest. She will challenge you in anyway that she can because that is the way she is. Its a wonderful trait that you won't see in teachers anymore. Her classes are sometimes hard but you know that she will always be there to help anyone who is willing to try. Professor McGonagall is an all around good person as well as a fine educator. When Harry was a first year and Ron and him went to save Hermione when the troll got loose, McGonagall was strict enough to take 50 points away because what the three of them had done was stupid and irresponsible. But she was also kind enough to award the boys 10 points and understand where they were coming from. because she was sympathetic. Also, we see the greatness in Professor McGonagall in Harry's fifth year when Umbridge stepped in and tried to take over. She stood up for her students and Hogwarts in general when she and Dolores had their spat in the hallway. Altogether, Minerva McGonagall is outstanding in ever aspect. She is kind and firm. She is a great teacher and witch. I think we should all thank the lord for Minerva McGonagall. Whoa! kinda huge..:D srry. | |
