| 1. Ekaterina School of Witchcraft and Wizardry – Ekaterina refers to the Greek goddess of magic, and so is fitting of this wizarding school. 2. Aurelia – Last name of its founder, Laela (loyal, faithful) Aurelia (golden). 3. Kavanagh – Last name of its founder, Leon (kingliness, grandeur, courage) Kavanagh (means "son of Kevin" but sounded good to me XD We can pretend it means bravery, okay?). 4. Sabina – Last name of its founder, Sophronia (wisdom) Sabina (intelligence, understanding). 5. Marcellus – Last name of its founder, Kasimir (destroyer of peace) Marcellus (martial, warlike). 6. Alexander (Alex) Corwin – The name Alex means “man’s defender,” which this character certainly is. It is also a fairly common name, as is Harry. 7. Halimeda (Hallie) Tremaine – Derived from Halimeda (the sea), Hallie means “thinking of the sea,” which I take as to thinking of endless possibilities and solutions. (The logic of that: when you look out over the sea, it appears to be endless.) As this character is the problem solver of the group, this makes perfect sense. 8. Kale Wickham – This isn’t referring to the vegetable, heh. Kale means a “free man,” which this character is. He doesn’t let people’s thoughts of him stop him from doing what he does, and it also sounds nice with the others. (Alex, Kale and Hallie…Yay reasoning XD) 9. John Smith/Simhjothan (j is silent, second h kinda too, so it’s like “Simotan” XD) – Besides John Doe, John Smith is about as ordinary a name you can get. Many people share one or both of the names, which this character would despise. 10. The Ekarterinan Experience – Experience what it’s like at the Ekaterina school!
Name meanings from Think Baby Names and Name Lab.
Wow…this took way too much time XD I love names too much and obsess about making them sound good in my head at least, hahaha.

| 1. The castle itself Sindri School of Magic - - Quote :
- Possibly means either "small, trivial" or else "sparkling" in Old Norse. In Norse legend this was the name of a dwarf who, with his brother Brokk, made many magical items for the gods.
That is the meaning of "Sindri" and "School of Magic" is self explanitory.2. Hufflepuff Charis - meaning "grace, kindness"3. Gryffindor Erhard - meaning "honour and bravery"4. Ravenclaw Koios - - Quote :
- Possibly derived from Greek κοιος (koios), also spelled ποιος (poios), a questioning word meaning approximately "of what kind?". This was the name of a Titan god of intelligence in Greek mythology.
5. Slytherin Cassius - - Quote :
- Roman family name which was possibly derived from Latin cassus "empty, vain". This name was borne by several early saints. In modern times, it was the original first name of boxer Muhammad Ali (1942-), who was named after his father Cassius Clay, who was himself named after the American abolitionist Cassius Clay (1810-1903).
6. Harry Potter Samson Zosimus - Samson means - - Quote :
- From the Hebrew name שִׁמְשׁוֹן (Shimshon) which probably meant "sun". Samson was an Old Testament hero of exceptional strength. His uncut hair was the source of his power, but his mistress Delilah betrayed him and cut it. Thus he was captured by the Philistines, blinded, and brought to their temple. However, in a final act of strength, he pulled down the pillars of the temple upon himself and his captors.
As an English name, Samson was common during the Middle Ages, having been introduced by the Normans. This was due to the Welsh bishop Saint Samson, who founded monasteries in Brittany and Normandy in the 6th century. In his case, the name may have been a translation of his true Celtic name.
Zosimus means - - Quote :
- Latinized form of Ζωσιμος (Zosimos), a Greek name derived from ζωσιμος (zosimos) meaning "viable" or "likely to survive". This was the name of several early saints and a pope.
7. Hermine Granger Medea Scarlett Medea means - Quote :
- From the Greek Μηδεια (Medeia), possibly meaning either "to ponder" or "cunning". In Greek mythology Medea was a sorceress from Colchis (modern Georgia) who helped Jason gain the Golden Fleece. They were married, but eventually Jason left her for another woman. For revenge Medea slew Jason's new lover and also had her own children by Jason killed.
(I hate Hermoine, can't you tell?)8. Ron Weasley Reynard Weasley - Reynard means - Quote :
- From the Germanic name Reginhard, composed of the elements ragin "advice" and hard "brave, hardy".
and Weasley just fits too well!9. Tom Riddle and Voldemort Seth Caspian - both names mean "evil". In replacement of "Voldemort" I have gotten "Casthesian"10. Hogwarts Experience Sindri Online : ]
haha, this was fun. : ] | |

| 1. Hogwarts
Hogsmead School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Most of the prestigous schools in the Muggle World take on the name of the place where they are, therefore I believe this would be a fitting name for the School.
2. Hufflepuff
Honestuff
Assuming this is also the surname of the founder, Honestuff would give a straightaway view of that house value, Honesty.
3. Gryffindor
Bravendor
Assuming this is also the surname of the founder, Bravendor would give a straightaway view of that house value, Braveness.
4. Ravenclaw
Smartlaw
Assuming this is also the surname of the founder, Smartlaw would give a straightaway view of that house value, Smarts.
5. Slytherin
Ambitiouslin
Assuming this is also the surname of the founder, Ambitiouslin would give a straightaway view of that house value, ambition.
6. Harry Potter
Chuck Barry
I didn't see Harry's name having great meaning to the plot or his personality, so except for sounding good any name is fair game!
7. Hermione Granger
Johanna Brainiac
If JK didn't think so much about names and meanings and wanted more straightforward names this would fit Hermione perfectly!
8. Ron Weasley
Peter Follower
Doesn't that surname describes Ron perfectly? You must agree he does nothing but folliwing almost the entire series!
9. Tom Riddle and Voldemort
John Taunt & Abradoom
I just love "Abradoom" a mix of abracadabra and doom! A perfect fit for Voldemort I think. John Taunt as a nice mean ring to it, Taunt would have been a nice family name!
10. Hogwarts Experience
The Hogsmead Experience
The site was named after Hogwarts for one reason and that shouldn't change! The name of the school embodies everything we're about.

| 1. Hogwarts Wizinport
Well it seems to me lots of schools end in 'port' (okay, I can only think of Davenport right now but whatever) and it's a Wizarding school so it makes sense.
2. Hufflepuff Allegiant
Cause they're a house of loyality. Kinda like factions in Divergent, just name the house for it's number one quality.
3. Gryffindor Intrepid
Brave, daring, it's all summed up here in a super awesome name. What more can you want?
4. Ravenclaw Scintillat
Scintiallting means "brightly and excitingly clever or skillful". I mean, come on. So I just took off the ing.
5. Slytherin Guileful
Cunning. What more could you really expect?
6. Harry Potter Marvin Ackerman
So Harry's name has nothing to do with anything important in the series, but I always felt like Harry was a name that would get picked on. So I stuck with that theme.
7. Hermine Granger Akila Smith
I feel like Hermione's name always has to be unique so it just further points out that she's different. Akila means intelligent in Egyptian and Arabic and Smith is a common muggle name.
8. Ron Weasley Chris Burns
So, there's not much reasoning here other than the fact that Chris does mean follwer (of Christ but we can ignore that). Burns to match his red hair.
9. Tom Riddle and Voldemort Carey Haunt and Mawat
So Carey means 'of the dark one' and we all know what haunting is. That's pretty straight forward, meanwhile Mawat is this super awesome Caanite name that translates into 'God of death'.
10. Hogwarts Experience Magical Experience
Cause it's an experience that's magical. Also cause Wizport Experience sounds kinda weird.

| 1. Hogwarts Great Britain & Ireland & adjacent islands school of the arcane arts. 2. Hufflepuff Helgan. After Helga Hufflepuff. Because Helgan sounds more intimidating on the quidditch field than Hufflepuff. 3. Gryffindor Arienstair Arien for Aries, a fire zodiac sign like Leo, the lion, which I thought was too obvious, and stair as a replacement for the dor in gryffindor. 4. Ravenclaw Eagletooth. Because Ravenclaw is a dumb name for a house with an eagle mascot. 5. Slytherin Grassenglim inspired by the saying "snake in the grass" 6. Harry Potter Charlie Clay. Charlie is a twist on Charlus, the name of Harry's grandfather. And clay because a potter makes things out of clay. 7. Hermine Granger Samantha Bruin. Samantha means intelligent listener, Bruin means brown, for her hair. And I just think the name fits her. Plain yet classic and a bit bookwormy sounding. 8. Ron Weasley Elmo Rothburt. Elmo for St. Elmo's fire, which, okay, isn't even red, but its still fire lol. Roth means red, and I added a Burt on to it to make it more amusing. I just think this name is really funny, and is a fitting replacement name for Ronald Weasley. 9. Tom Riddle and Voldemort Jack Mallory. and Marckomal. I think this name is plain and muggle sounding, as is fitting for Voldemort's half blood heritage. Besides which, Mallory means unfortunate. Marckomal is a mix of some of the letters in Mallory, and the name Amal, which means pure, and would probably appeal to him. 10. Hogwarts Experience The Text Based Hogwarts Simulator | |
